Hey, guys! - J'rashien Qhet - 07-27-2015
Greetings, Hydaelyn Roleplayers!
I hate introductory posts because I never know what to say, but I'm eager to start meeting people and roleplaying here so the sacrifice is well worth it.
I am completely and utterly new to FFXIV roleplay, I'm yet to even start roleplaying on the game ever. This post is my first out reach! However, I have been roleplaying on MMO's since I can remember, having recently left my subscription on World of Warcraft to dwindle. I've always been a fan of the FF franchise though, so when I heard that their latest online edition had a thriving roleplay community I was eager to check it out.
I guess my main question to you all is, where do I start? I've noticed that random, open world roleplay seems to be rarer to come by (which is probably the main difference I've noticed from my experiences with WoW) and knowing how to approach linkshells and/or free companies is honestly quite daunting. I'm playing on Gilgamesh, maining a Seeker of the Sun named J'rashien Qhet, and I'm itching to start developing her... and probably more than a handful of alts I inevitably get attached to.
I'll probably have a thousand more questions as I start really delving in to the forums, so I hope you'll bare with me! I look forward to meeting you all!

First off, welcome to the community!
I was on Gilgamesh for a while before transferring to Balmung for more RP opportunities. While it has been a while since I played there, I do know the Bismark and the Sands in Ul'dah saw a bit of activity, but honestly I would suggest you browse through the linkshells listed here on the site and see if you can find one that fits your fancy.

Your words fill me with confidence about Gilgamesh! I jest, of course. I will indeed have a browse through the linkshells and check out those spots, anything is gold at the moment.
