RE: Your Character's Story Role In a Final Fantasy Game - I'nhalki - 08-25-2015

I'nhalki is 1/2 or 1/3rd of the inept villains-but-totally-unthreatening duo or trio that rivals your character party during the first third of the game. She's the quiet "..." bodyguard type one that's always paired with the brazen, loud one (that would be Aldred in our LS, haha).

And then, by the midpoint/climax of the game maybe these low-tier villains have either died as a plot point or end up helping your main party because they realize they're bad at villainy.

In terms of class/job she would probably be a simple fighter or thief.

RE: Your Character's Story Role In a Final Fantasy Game - Leanne - 08-25-2015

Leanne would almost certainly be the heroine. An upbeat, cheerful girl with the desire to explore the world, righting the wrongs she finds during her adventures, making long lasting friendships while in pursuit of her unique dream: To explore the entirety of the world she lives in.

Of course as it normally goes with those games, an ancient evil is slowly unearthed by a faction of evil-doers midst her worldly travels, and out of a sense of duty, she decides to stop them with her group of friends.

The closest character to this idea would be Bartz Klauser, protagonist from FFV; a simple wanderer with no bigger ambitions other than the simple wish to travel and to explore before finding himself in the middle of strange machinations. I'd say it is a perfectly fit x3

As for job, she would most likely be a ranger, although thief and red mage(fangirling) are also possible options!

This FF game needs a plot now.

RE: Your Character's Story Role In a Final Fantasy Game - Kurt S. - 08-25-2015

Oh, one for my retired characters.

Kihl and Reima would be that pair of siblings that just love to hunt and may be manning ff16's job board or hunt board or equivalent. May be even be guests in your party when you go take on that level 99 rank SSS hunt mark that may or may not take an hour to beat and can still 'lol rekt' your entire party if careless.

Much like tiamat from ff12.

RE: Your Character's Story Role In a Final Fantasy Game - Vincent Sarkoza - 08-25-2015

Vincent would start off as a side character and merchant that the player would be able to buy from (specialty foods, ingredients, etc). As the player progresses through the msq, Vincent would be revealed as an assassin hired by the Main villain to eliminate the players character. Vincent himself would be motivated at first by gil and then by the thrill of fighting with the player character. As the player fights Vincent on multiple occasions, the player would have to make decisions that would either persuade Vincent to give up on the contract and aid the player or force the player and his/her group to eliminate Vincent for good.

Of course, throughout the player's journey he/she will encounter Vincent multiple times and learn about him through various side quests.

Vincent's class would most definitely be a ninja.

RE: Your Character's Story Role In a Final Fantasy Game - ɴᴘᴄ - 08-25-2015

Ancel would be a side-quest NPC that could be met at various taverns, camps, and roadways throughout the game. Once met, he will not appear at that location again.

During the initial conversation with this NPC, he will ask the player to travel to a remote location to verify the presence of a trinket commemorating the journey. Trinkets will be different at each location. As Ancel is met each time, he will ask about the last location's trinket. If the player answers correctly, he will give them another location. If the player correctly locates twelve locations and reports back, Ancel will inform them that they have visited the tributes to twelve 'guardian spirits whose names were lost', and will share their tale via brief cutscene. He will then present them with a Vagabond's Whistle, a single-charge item that allows the player to summon* him once per battle. The Whistle recharges at a random interval with an unknown minimum, so with any use beyond the first, there is a chance that using it will have no effect.

After issuing the Whistle, he will no longer be found.

* - Once summoned, Ancel will deal 3 critical hits (dealing damage based on the whistleblower's stats) to the entire opposing party while refreshing all player characters' MP by 50%.

RE: Your Character's Story Role In a Final Fantasy Game - Manari - 08-25-2015

There will be a large forest in the game that acts as a sort of dungeon. This forest will probably be infamous in this game for being hard to get through if you don't grind levels first. Within this forest will be a rumor of a guardian that watches over it.

Manari is that guardian. She will encounter the party early on in the game and join until the party reaches the end of that part of the story. As soon as Manari guides them to the exit, she will leave, saying her place is here and she won't abandon her home.

Later in the game near the 2nd half, you can choose to backtrack and visit the forest again, if you do so, you will find it being attacked by something. Possibly the forces of the main villain, or possibly some kind of ancient recently unsealed demon or dragon. When you travel through the forest again, the monsters are all much much more powerful and it will be difficult. Upon reaching the boss of the forest, the party will encounter Manari again, caught in the battle of her life against this optional hard boss. If you fight and defeat this boss she will swear vengeance on the big bad and join your party permanently as she travels with you to make sure her forest doesn't get attacked again.

We are a four-man Team Rocket. It's true. And you're the cat.

RE: Your Character's Story Role In a Final Fantasy Game - Cato - 08-26-2015

Graeham would be the moral compass of the group as well as the guy taking the time to make sure that everybody was holding up well - especially in the aftermath of traumatic events. He'd also strive to come to some sort of peaceful resolution to various conflicts instead of resorting to bloodshed at every turn.

Depending on the group's actions he'd potentially even defect and turn against them, especially if they ended up getting innocent Garlean civilians/non-combatants killed during a skirmish against Garlean forces.

Alternatively he'd be the idealistic figure pushing for peace between two warring nations only to be assassinated by one side during peace talks in an attempt to prolong conflict. Further examination would reveal that the so called 'good side' was responsible. The story would involve a lot of intrigue, betrayal and deception. Much like FFXII!

RE: Your Character's Story Role In a Final Fantasy Game - Berrod Armstrong - 08-26-2015

Berrod is that tough guy npc who's in the game for literally 30 seconds but somehow ends up having a fan following and endless porn of him on tumblr.

RE: Your Character's Story Role In a Final Fantasy Game - Aaron - 08-26-2015

Actually after pondering it over I'd like to change mine.

Aaron would be that unlockable permanent party member if you do his sidequests, but he'd be a story (if you didn't do the quest) one time only party member who would be unplayable, probably have stats rivaling the PC strongest character due to story hax and was played by the computer.

He'd be the character who'd always be the one who just deals with whatever happens and only gets involved (that one time) if its to the point he can't ignore it anymore such as a final boss. Outside that he'd be the one you meet at random intervals who'd tell you information on your destination or goal and then be the "off screen" helper for the most part.

When I think about it he'd be more like Vincent Valentine than Squall

RE: Your Character's Story Role In a Final Fantasy Game - Leggerless - 08-26-2015

Elise starts out as a temporary character with much higher stats than your character in the beginning stage of the game, much like Auron in the beginning of FFX.

In Disc 2 (of a 3 Disc game), the player may receive a side quest for her to join your party if you can best her in one of two challenges; a battle of wits or a trial by combat. The former goes through a lengthy dialogue while the latter is a fight between her and the hero/heroine.

As a party member, Elise uses the abilities of both a Samurai and a Ninja.

RE: Your Character's Story Role In a Final Fantasy Game - Kaiz - 08-26-2015

Kaiz would be Red XIII if anyone could speak his language.

Alas they can't so he's more like Gau.

RE: Your Character's Story Role In a Final Fantasy Game - Ryanti - 08-26-2015

Ryanti would probably be the guy that pops up in and out or the storyline either to help you or cut you off. Then fades away again because he is walking a different path than the main party. The main character may have their disagreements with Ryanti, maybe even fight him once, but Ryanti would not be a bad guy. He would just walk his own path, though perhaps he would finally end up joining the party in the second half of the game.

Or he would be a main supporting character that serves as a primary liason between your sanctuaries/goals and you.

I can see Ryanti being a grown up Hope in XIII-2.

RE: Your Character's Story Role In a Final Fantasy Game - ZacharyVolfire - 08-26-2015

Definatly traveling merchant. Zachary qould be at every outpost or small vilalge town with his wares. He might also have a quest where he's a temporary party member as summoner class.
