[Songbook] Excuse Me While I Kiss the Sky - Capheira - 10-26-2015

The book itself is worn, pressed parchment of yellowing papyrus bound in the tanned leather of some unidentifiable beast. It rests atop a larger book of similar make, though such is not to be spoken of now. Kept closed with the aid of flaxen-hued twine, contents scribed in old-fashioned ink and quill remain hidden from the world beyond. The text itself is written with sloppy elegance, each word a cursive dance upon the page and yet letters appear underformed and askew at times; unperfected.

Contained within is private poetry and prose, written by bard Odette Saoirse.

Jancis Pie-Bane

The beast was tall, tall as could be,
Pan to mound, taller than a tree!
Scales baked brown like the darkest crust,
It needed be slain, ‘twas a must!

And so came eight with quickened pace,
Men and women, marching in haste.
Drawing cutters, and knives, and claw,
Hence thrown themselves at pastry maw.

Valiant in battle, each fell,
Save the brunette who fought through hell,
Here’s her tale, Jancis Milburga,
This day she battled with fervor!

CHORUS:
Eight cried out “Lettuce carrot home victory!"
And the eight were raddished contradictory.
Only one warrior leeked through the green fight,
Who turnips after all? Jancis, all pie’s blight!

First projectiles shade of berries,
Flung along with reddest of cherries,
Dip and weave, our heroine ducked,
Another was from battle plucked.

Their numbers dwindled one by one,
Beneath heat of sweltering sun,
None matched the woman's tolerance,
The cheering crowd her audience.

CHORUS REPEAT

Weapon aside, the beauty launched!
Teeth and claws pierced succulent haunch.
Flurried bites rendered beast helpless,
Jan Pie-Bane; moves smooth as velvet.

She bit through butterberry tart,
Each strike precise, a work of art.
"With Nophica’s gift upon me!”
“I have a flawless victory!”

Only one warrior leeked through the green fight
Who turnips after all? Jancis, all pie’s blight!

Autumn Stars

The moon was bright on Mhigan sands,
The pale globe brought the tide,
The cold green water's greedy hands,
They clutched shore far and wide.

There stood a man put out to sea,
He told his love, 'My dear,
When I’m gone, will you wait for me?
I’ll come by end of year.’

CHORUS:
‘I will wait for you until the ice grows hot,
Until the autumn sun grows cold,
Until the high cliffs of Theuearl rot
And lagoons of Rothlyt mould.’

The warrior boarded his ship,
Sails sheeted far from home,
The water gurgled at it's lip,
And whitened into foam.

Moons passed by, but ‘twas no more word,
Came from that roving soul,
No welcomed words were overheard,
Nor letter on writ scroll.

CHORUS:
‘I will wait for you until the ice grows hot,
Until the autumn sun grows cold,
Until the high cliffs of Theuearl rot
And lagoons of Rothlyt mould.’

The seventh year men gave up hope,
And swore that he was dead.
They had the bell tolled thrice by rope,
The burial words read.

Then it was that the winds set cold,
And danced from the south-east,
The great salt water running bold,
Lost lover’s eyes did weep.

CHORUS:
‘I will wait for you until the ice grows hot,
Until the autumn sun grows cold,
Until the high cliffs of Theuearl rot
And lagoons of Rothlyt mould.’

Gently did the cold wind blow on silken cheek,
Lingering scent of tobacco cigars,
Caressed whisper scattered damp streak,
Became thus the Autumn stars....

Theme: Winter, Turning of Seasons.
Special Conditions: 3-8 Minutes Long.
Performed at: The Celebration of First Snow

Winter's Knell

Down from the north the winds did blow,
Over the peaks to bring with them snow.

At the top of the mount in Winter's Knell,
Spread were the tables - oh!
Filled were the tankards - ho!
Stoked was the fire when first flake fell.

When first flake fell, then several more,
Slain was the chicken, slain was the boar!

[CHORUS REPEAT]

Feast piled high and wide as eye could see,
Man, woman and child unbridled; carefree!

[CHORUS REPEAT]

From the head of the table victory crowed,
Tales of deeds and great battles did flow.

[CHORUS REPEAT]

Filled to brim with meal, mead and song,
So ended feast with slumber three-eve long.

At the top of the mount in Winter's Knell,
Spread were the tables - oh!
Filled were the tankards - ho!
Stoked was the fire when first flake fell.

At the top of the mount in Winter's Knell,
Stoked was the fire when first flake fell.

Special Conditions: 3-8 Minutes Long.

The Greatest Gift

Seek out the wine glass of life unfound,
Drink from it deeply, freedom resound.
The horizon endless, it stretches in bound.

The greatest gift is that of the present,
One cannot plan courses of stars that be,
Break free the chains of discontent.
Adventure on, true wonders await thee.

Go forth, glass empty, seek to fill. To find.
No road, no track, all pathing entwined.
The way won't be written nor easily defined.

The greatest gift is that of the present,
One cannot plan courses of stars that be,
Break free the chains of discontent.
Adventure on, true wonders await thee.

Delve, enrich, and when you suffer, swear.
That the next 'venturer will have less to bare,
Path retrodden, breath deep the night air.

The greatest gift is that of the present,
One cannot plan courses of stars that be,
Break free the chains of discontent.
Adventure on, true wonders await thee.

Be very sure, that good things truly willed,
Survive the broken heart, the martyr killed
Hope that endures becomes a Hope fulfilled.

The greatest gift is that of the present,
One cannot plan courses of stars that be,
Break free the chains of discontent.
Adventure on, true wonders await thee.

Adventure on, true wonders await thee.

Sand and Shore

Gently, against the shores, the ocean laps,
Carving through the sand, in it’s own way - an axe.
Each draw of the tide bringing with it memory,
Precious, private, a personal reverie.

Yet when the sun sets over endless horizon,
Know, deep down, there is a new hope rising.
Each beat of the heart within your breast,
A reminder of love - past, present: expressed.

With each star that lights the night sky,
And every rise of the sun on high,
They live within, now and evermore,
Family, friends: they watch an’ adore.

For all your joys and all your sorrows,
Your todays and your tomorrows,
In your arms salvation’s not so far away,
Upon my lips, we’ll keep the world at bay.

Let these waters embrace you in their caress,
With the words spoken, sung, I profess,
There is no darkness that can touch you here,
I stand by your side, find joy in you near.

Yet when the sun sets over endless horizon,
Know, deep down, there is a new hope rising.
Each beat of the heart within your breast,
A reminder of love - past, present: expressed.

Everything changes but my love remains,
Something so tender it can’t be explained.
Giving and taking, sea and shore in hand,
Equally united, together, as one we stand.

Together, as one, we stand…

A commissioned Valentione’s Telegram Remioux Beauvais to Tieve Cadalelle
written and performed by Odette Saoirse/Capheira…. with a surprise proposal ending!

Sharlayan Beauty

My dearest Tieve, my Sharlayan Beauty,
Your grace alone is enough to move me,
The simple way words play from your lips,
And the far more sinful sway of hips.

Anywhere you go, let me go too.

My beauty, I need not the stars of skies,
For the treasures of eve lay in your eyes,
You set my spirit freer than any bird,
Soaring, flying, true love stirred.

Anywhere you go, let me go too.

My darling doctor, my love’s triad,
You mend the wounds I knew not I had.
Body. Mind. Soul. A precious harmony.
Each one a thread, stitched so perfectly.

Anywhere you go, let me go too.

My sweetest Tieve, my dearest dove,
I’m empty without you - a blank page, love.
My life is a book to be written: opened to you.
Turn my pages, your touch: my rendezvous.

Anywhere you go, let me go too.

Light of my life, precious gift bestowed.
When you smile, your features set a-glow,
I thank the twelve that I finally found you,
I hope that you feel the same way too.

Anywhere you go, let me go too.

My Sharlayan Beauty, my Valentione,
I ask on this day and all that follow, be mine.
Remioux Beauvais, forever at your service,
With declaration of love, made in earnest.

Anywhere you go, let me go too…

Better Days, Hotter Nights

Wakin’ up t'fight the same old demons,
I’ll live now because the good die young,
Don’t want to waste but one cherished night,
Not going to leave one single song unsung,

Oh-woah-oh~

I wanna feel the best an’ worst of what’s on offer,
Wrap me tight in passions of flame and fire,
Don’t wanna fade, send me out with a… b a n g!
Better days, hotter nights, that’s my true desire.

I’ll scream it from the rooftops, from high cliffside,
Stare into the wind that claims weakened breath,
Fill my cup with wanderlust, stuff pipe with liberty.
Won’t waste away, r e g r e t, in the face of death.

Oh-woah-oh~

I wanna feel the best an’ worst of what’s on offer,
Wrap me tight in passions of flame and fire,
Don’t wanna fade, send me out with a… b a n g!
Better days, hotter nights, that’s my true desire.

I’ll live now because the good die young,
Not going to leave one single song unsung.

Oh-woah-oh~

Stare into the wind that claims weakened breath,
Won’t waste away, r e g r e t, in the face of death.

I wanna feel the best an’ worst of what’s on offer,
Wrap me tight in passions of flame and fire,
Don’t wanna fade, send me out with a… b a n g!
Better days, hotter nights…

Kiss me now, slowly, that’s my true desire.

Outfoxed

She was indeed the most charming woman, he ever did see.
Hair spun like silk and eyes over veil: she whispered only sin,
With a beckon and sly grin, he called then spoke unto she,
"Part those lips and sing to me Vixen, serenade me songbird."

The bard she glanced in noble's direction, features lit with smile,
And saunter did she with giggle and laugh, to lean upon shoulder,
Easily noting perfumes and jewelry that spoke highly of life style
"I'll part these lips and sing to you sir, a song you've ne'er heard."

Then he took her by her porcelain hand and led her to stairwell,
With key in lock and lock undone, into chambers they did venture,
Against the wall he did press her, and growled unto that belle,
"Part those lips and sing to me Vixen, upon my own preferred."

With a laugh the fox did shake her head and coax with push to chair,
A sultry smile was the last he saw, eyes hidden and hands bound.
Upon his lap she then did sit, and ran her hands through raven hair,
"I'll part these lips and sing for you sir, for price has now occurred."

The sound of tearing dress did excite the man, not knowing of his fate
Cloth discarded, steel was rendered and pressed to chubby throat,
With a flush of warmth nearby his ear, so did tremble dear magnate.
"Part your lips and sing for me Vixen, am I to be interred?"

The blade withdrew as answer, accompanied with note of mirth,
Your deeds are nae unnoticed and yer cruelty s'well known,
The Vixen sung across the room, as she filled her bag with worth,
"I'll part my lips and render warning, this ends now," she purred.

And just like that, the fox was gone... out through nearest window,
Donning hat and wolfish grin, she scampered for her freedom.
Naught but single trace remained, save for rigid innuendo.
Our magnate found himself relieved of all but hissed curse word.

Fortune Favors The Bold

L o v e.
P o w e r.
C u n n i n g.
F o r t u n e.

They say fortune favors the bold.
They! They say fortune favors the bold...
Hey? Hey!

Penny for thoughts? If wishes were fishes?
I'm burning up - the Devil's Advocate, baby!
Let's turn those raindrops into kisses.

And I said... If fortune favores the bold. Hey!
Then I'm the richest motherf-Hey, h e y!
It's a full house, but I'm one of a kind.
Let's paint this town a brilliant gold.

Hey. Hey!

Triple seven, I'm your magic number.
Roll the dice an' test your luck.
Life's a gamble so force our blunder.

And I said... If fortune favores the bold. Hey!
Then I'm the richest motherf-Hey, h e y!
It's a full house, but I'm one of a kind.
Let's paint this town a brilliant gold.

Hey. Hey!

Raise the stakes, Snake Eyes in th'grass.
I see what's mine. Own it. Take it.
Sin City baby, it'll be new world class.

And I said... If fortune favores the bold. Hey!
Then I'm the richest motherf-Hey, h e y!
It's a full house, but I'm one of a kind.
Let's paint this town a brilliant gold.

Hey. Hey!

They say fortune favors the bold.
They! They say fortune favors the bold...

A Ship Named Calvary

The seas were rough and stormy,
The night had just begun...

And so-o we sailed, we sailed on through.

The ship had lost it's rudder,
My life defied the sun,

And so-o we sailed, we sailed on through.

The mist and fog misguided me,
The shore could nae be seen,

And so-o we sailed, we sailed on through.

The birds had left the skies above,
The mast began to lean.

And so-o we sailed, we sailed on through.

The wind began to whisper terror,
The lightning started to flash,

And so-o we sailed, we sailed on through.

The claps of thunder quickly hastened,
The waves continued to thrash,

And so-o we sailed, we sailed on through.

The ship it rocked to and fro,
It moved with no direction.

And so-o we sailed, we sailed on through.

My thoughts swayed indecisively,
T'sails sheeted ghostly projection,

And so-o we sailed, we sailed on through.

Then on my knees I hit the deck,
Viciously the salt had stung,

And so-o we sailed, we sailed on through.

I cried out with a small still voice,
The miracle was sung.

And so-o we sailed, we sailed on through.

And through the darkness I light I saw
It lit up all the sea,

And so-o we sailed, we sailed on through.

Soon I found myself aboard,
A ship named Calvary.

And so-o we sailed, we sailed on through.
