The Household (Closed) - Parvacake - 08-22-2016

Though they had spoken about it in passing before, Lili and Chacha never really got around to spending much time together as friends. Whether it was letting Gran and the children play together or having a nice lunch at the Quicksand, the ideas were entertained and enjoyed but never executed. When a day came that she ran into the little smith on the streets of Ul'dah, she insisted that she made him a nice dinner to celebrate him becoming his own boss and overseer. Even if it flustered the poor lalafell, she walked away with a smug smile after he finally relented.

The address was given to the little smith with directions as well as a friendly warning.

"I have a big family, dear, and a very...mixed household. Bring Gran. I think he'll enjoy himself."

It wasn't the first time Chacha had come to the Altair (formerly Rinannis) household. It was much the same as when he once stopped by though some things in the yard were moved around to provide more open space for the children to run around. There was an archway teeming with moss and ivy upon crossing the gates that led onto a simple expanse of grass. A little pond, deck, stable (complete with a dozing bone white chocobo), laundry line (with drying baby clothes), and garden were all tucked against the fence.

Near the door on the grass was a young doe, curled up and napping. Halfway across the yard would have been a loud squawk from the roof where an over fed dodo stared down at him with beady eyes. With another obnoxious squawk, it scuttled back along the roof and out of sight.

When he got to the door itself, something popped out of the flowerbed. A mandragora stared at him, bright pink flower growing atop its head. It let out a giggle upon being noticed before diving back into the flower bed with only its flower peeking up. It blended in surprisingly well with the floral assortment whose colors seemed to match its own.

The door would have opened with a smiling Lili to greet him. She wore simple clothes: a loose black tunic and baggy leggings while her feet were bare with bright red toenails.

"Find the place alright?" Her smile was warm. Coming up besides her in the doorway buzzed a magitek bit, letting out musical chirps of greeting before fluttering back within the house. Already the smells of cooking were wafting out as well as some other voices that were occasionally interrupted by the louder squeals of children.

"Ah, yeah, jus' took a bit longer'n I had 'spected wit Gran in tow," came the response from the little Lalafell, adjusting the collar of his shirt awkwardly. The boy had dressed up a bit from his usual attire - heavy shirt and apron replaced with a relatively light and somewhat frilly top he had gotten during his time in Limsa. He still kept with his penchant for baggy pants, though this pair was much more free off charcoal dust and bits of slag than his usual fare. He had even forgone his favorite steel-toed boots for a much more mundane pair far more suited for visiting the home of another. He still smelled faintly of forge-fire and smoke, of course, but such things were hard to scrub out even with the most vigorous of washing.

Gran, on the other hand, was far less dolled up than his owner. The baby behemoth's only well-kept part being his little mane of jet-black hair, which he tended to on his own rather dutifully to ensure he would be positively stunning to any ladyhemoths he may come across. He had, of course, not come across any as of yet, but it certainly never hurt to be prepared. Still, he didn't seem to mind the lack of ladyhemoths here at the Altair estate as he trotted about the yard - snuffling and pawing at whatever caught his interest. He had seen little beyond the walls of Ul'dah and a bit of the dusty prairies that surrounded it ever since they returned to the Jewel from their lengthy stay in the Mist, so Gran was quite eager to take in all the fresh sights and earthy smells of the Shroud.

... This had included "intimidating" the sleeping chocobo and doe into respecting his might with various displays of his mighty form that they were obviously too afraid to challenge in their slumber. And trying to root out the mandragora that had startled them in the garden, though he was rather bodily dragged away from ruining the flowers by Chachanji. He had given a derisive snort at being kept from that particular task, and was now circling beneath where the dodo had also caught them off-guard... likely looking for a way up or - preferably - for the hefty bird to misstep and fall into his porcine clutches.

"He... um... is enjoyin' 'is time out 'ere, I think," Chachanji added with an stilted chuckle, watching the baby behemoth in case he tried something more drastic and debating if he should get a leash for the porker at some point. Though, Gran had given him the grandest of struggles just to get him into cold-weather gear when traveling to Ishgard... he could only imagine the fuss at being forced to wear a collar. He returned his gaze to Lili before dwelling on such things for too long, however, giving a much more earnest smile as he returned to more current matters. "So, uh, how've ya all been? How're Ms. Sara 'n lil' Mikh'a 'n Ado?"

RE: The Household (Closed) - Parvacake - 08-23-2016

Dot didn't stir. Not once. The doe was used to being in a house of screaming children so a few show off snorts and chuffs from a tiny thing like Gran didn't bother her a bit. Same with Milo the chocobo who at least cocked an eye open to look at him before drifting back to sleep.

Gran's explorations were just what Lili hoped for. It might do him some good to be around other non-humanoid creatures for a little while. "Why don't you ask them yourself?" The family matriarch stepped aside, body turning slightly to reveal the sitting area. There was a large staircase to her right leading to the upper levels and one on the other side of the door leading down to the basement.

The dining room and kitchen were before them, separated by a partition with a built in bookshelf to display reading material on either side. In the middle of the floor was Mikh'a, playing with a small moogle plush and biting on its pompom. Seeing something new, Mikh'a turned to stare at Chacha. Once Gran came into view? That was it. He was up like a shot and rushing towards Gran with his bare feet slapping against the floorboards.

"Oin'! Oin'!" He chirped happily. Gran was going to get glomped unless he fled. In which case the tot would only follow.

RE: The Household (Closed) - Gegenji - 08-23-2016

Gran had taken the lack of responses from the horsebird and doe as personal victories, which had made the interruption of his third pacification of the errant flower-thing all the more bothersome. He would've been three for three. And that squawk-bird was up there on the roof with no visible means to get it down or go up to it, so his 100% success rate had suddenly dropped to a meager 50-50. After making a little rut in the grass from his circling trying to at least get three out of four, the baby behemoth finally settled down in its center with a disdainful little snort.

Which left him wide open for the oncoming Miqo'toddler. Chachan certainly made no move to stop the boy, remembering the two getting along quite well the last time they had been together. More than willing to let two old friends get reacquainted, the Lalafell stepped aside to let little Mikh'a crash into the purple porker. Gran's ears wiggled at the sound of feet on wood and the child's chirps, but didn't realize the boy was after him in particular until Mikh'a was all but on top of him. The baby behemoth squealed and tried to get to scramble to his feet, but the kid was already glomping onto him.

"'e's walkin' 'n talkin' already?" Chachan asked of Lili, watching the small moment of chaos unfold. He scratched thoughtfully at a cheek with a gloved finger as he mused on this new revelation. "'as it really been that long?" He put his hands on his hips and looked up at the Hyur woman. "'e's gonna be taller'n me a'fore ya know it. ... Not that doin' tha's much of'a 'ccomplishment, a'course."

Glancing between mother and child once more, the Lalafell noted the lack of shoes on both of them. Rather familiar with such a thing due to his Doman upbringing, he settled down on the doorstep and started removing his own boots. He continued his questions as he did so, possibly just to fill the air. "So, um... 'as Ms. Sara been gettin' up 'n about more? Or is she still sleepin' lots?"

RE: The Household (Closed) - Parvacake - 08-23-2016

"Oin'! Oin'!" Apparently Mikh'a couldn't remember Gran's name, but he remmebered and could imitate the noises the porkling made as he nuzzled his drooly face against Gran's mane as he struggled. Enough struggling would have let the baby behemoth escape only for the toddler to dash after him again. Most of his talk were a few noticable words but overall just squeals and coos.

Lili smirked as her arms crossed, watching her youngest boy having fun with his old friend before looking down to Chacha with a wink. "He's a little slow when it comes to speaking but otherwise he's been behaving normally for his age. He's about three cycles now, in fact. Give or take a few moons since the orphanage didn't know his approximate age when I got him."

The mangragora poked her head out from the flowers to watch them, her own flower bobbing atop her head with even the smallest breeze.

Lili jerked a thumb over her shoulder. "She's doing alright. She's helping my son's husband finish up dinner. Everyone was near Limsa Lominsa so they all decided to come by. You'll be able to meet the whole brood." Though when it came to the subject of Sara's illness, she gave a slight shrug and grimace. "Oh, you know..." A hand wave soon followed. "Good days and bad days. She doesn't sleep as often with a new tonic I've been giving her but when she's sick she never stops sleeping. I actually have to wake her up to make sure she uses the facilities, showers, and eats or else she forgets."

"However." She purposefully made her tone brighten. "Today is a good day. Everyone is feeling good so you're in luck."

RE: The Household (Closed) - Gegenji - 08-24-2016

After the initial squealing and struggles and a chase or two, Gran was finally able to place the scent of the Miqo'toddler that was so stalwartly harassing him. He even broke off a chase to give the little tyke a thorough snuffling to be absolutely certain, which was sure to elicit some giggles from the boy as the little porker's snout chuffed at his legs and stomach. Identity confirmed, the baby behemoth lowered his hackles with an exasperated little huff. This was his boy, of course he'd want to be around the amazing Gran.

Things were a bit more tense at the doorway, though. Chachan had quickly realized his err when he noted Lili's expression regarding her daughter's health and well-being, shrinking into himself a little as she spoke. While he was honestly glad that the tonic had been helping, the noticeable feeling of helplessness suffused in the lady Hyur's tone regarding Sara's condition washed over him like a tide and dampened the mood considerably. His apologetic frown only grew as Lili described the troubles encountered when her daughter wasn't doing as well, and the forced attempt to lighten the mood shortly afterward did little to crack the look of concern... at least at first.

"W-well," he managed after a moment, forcing a small smile of his own in his own attempt to turn matters to things more positive. "'m glad th' new tonic's helpin', 'n extra glad ev'ryone is doin' well t'day. I wouldn't wanna impose if'n there's pro'lems goin' on, y'know?"

His smile brightened a bit more as he continued, and he scratched at his floof as he peered inside the estate. "So, ev'ryone, huh? I know there's lil' Mikh'a 'n Ado 'n Ms. Sara... ya jus' mentioned 'nother son too... who else is there? 'r izzat all'a 'em?"

RE: The Household (Closed) - Parvacake - 08-25-2016

Once Gran stopped and snuffled at him, Mikh'a plopped on his butt with a flail and a loud squeal of delight. The volume unhindered given toddlers didn't have much desire to verbally contain their wordless noises of approval or distress. Though he kept saying "Oin'!" every few moments, by the time Gran finished giving him a sniff over the porkling was getting sniffed on by Mikh'a in a similar fashion. Rubbing his nose all over as much of Gran as possible and sniffing loudly. "Oin'!" Snuffle, snuffle, sniff, sniff, snort. "Oin-CHU!" Sneeze. Baby snot and spittle on Gran's side before more sniffing continued. He even got on all fours like Gran was.

While the two had their own bonding experience on the lawn, Lili kept half an eye on them and the rest of her focus on the little Doman who was removing his footwear. He was easy enough to read compared to most she dealt with both professionally and non, so his concern was met with a warm smile that she tried to make especially encouraging for him.

"Don't worry, dear. We're a large family. There's usually something going on at any given point so it's almost impossible to plan something when all is calm. But for now it's as good as it's been in some time and I'm happy to share in that feeling with others."

As he asked about her family, she realized Chacha had never actually met everyone all at once. He met Locke briefly when he had been alive, seen Sara and the boys, but had he met Ellie? Wracking her brain, she realized she couldn't remember. She had spent more time with family then being social that if such had happened, it would have been quite some time ago.

"There's my son, Khavan, who is the oldest. He's about twenty two summers right now and is from my first husband. He is married to a Duskwright named Luxore who you'll meet inside and they have no children. Then there's myself, Ado, Mikh'a, and Sara whom you've met already. My daughter, Ellie, is still an infant and was the child I had with Locke before he passed. She's such a darling and looks so much like him."

"Sara had her twin, Dei, who is no longer with us. My parents passed away some cycles ago when the children were very young and I have an adopted sister named Rhasha who is not around often though she's been making attempts to be a part of the family again." The mention of her sister was spoken of lightly enough though her nose wrinkled. Seemed it was possibly a complicated subject but she instead grinned at the little Doman before whistling over her shoulder.

Despite whatever play Gran and Mikh'a had been in the middle of, the toddler knew the whistle meant 'inside time' so he'd start toddling to the door. The magitek bit that had been whirring around inside darted out over Lili's head and to the front yard, chirping and letting out lyrical little noises towards the kit like he was being ushered in to the sound of a personal anthem. This only delighted Mikh'a further.

The smell of cooked meat, sauces, and something herbal filled the room once Chacha was finally inside. Once everyone (including Gran) was indoors, Lili shut the door behind them.

The first person to be taken note of would be a very, very large xaela who had been on the side of the door just out of sight until all were within. The dark blue skin, violet eyes, and shock of hair hair made the male stand out all the more in a house full of warmer hues. He wore a simple white dress shirt and slacks that seemed to be especially tailored for his long legs. His feet were bare like the others.

"I can take your shoes." His rumble was low and guttural in nature as he held a hand out wordlessly for the tiny footwear.

"Thank you, Bane," called Lili over her shoulder. "Chacha, go ahead and give him your shoes. He'll put them some where where the babies and critters cannot dirty them."

RE: The Household (Closed) - Gegenji - 08-26-2016

If Gran could've made a face at the various fluids Mikh'a had bestowed upon him, he probably would've. Instead the only real tell of displeasure was a drooping of the ears and a wrinkling of the snout. Still, it was something a quick roll and wiggle in the grass could easily fix. And with his Boy imitating him, it also meant a teachable moment so that the Miqo'toddler would be well aware of what to do if he was also slobbered upon.

"Tha' is a really big family," Chachan agreed with no small amount of awe as Lili listed off all those related to her. The Lalafell had a decently sized family - two siblings, his parents, and Virara and Leanne serving as a sort of adopted, extended family. Still, counting the deceased, the lady Hyur's family unit was about twice his. "'n most'a 'em are all here? Tha's a lotta greetin's 'm gonna hafta do..."

The way he sounded when he said it, it was pretty obvious Chachan didn't mind. In fact, his overall mood seemed to have recovered somewhat from his self-inflicted snafu not minutes earlier. His long ears drooped a bit at the sharp whistle, but that was more out of surprise more than any sort of displeasure. The Dunesfolk made a living hitting metal against metal for bells at a time, after all.

Gran mirrored Chachan's surprise at the sudden whistle, ears snapping up and the lady Hyur getting a curious look from the purple porker. His attentions then turned to Mikh'a as the little tyke left his side, the departure heralded by a miffed little snort. His piggy pouting was short-lived, though, as the noises of the bit was the next focus of his attentions - following after the Miqo'toddler to investigate further. This left Chachan himself as the last one to fully cross the threshold before Lili shut the door behind them.

Despite his surprise at the suddenness of the whistle, the Doman smith reacted much more tamely to Bane's appearance. Perhaps in part due to being acclimated to the Au Ra in general - they were native to his homeland, after all - so that the fellow's height and features didn't bother him overmuch. If anything, any confusion the lad showed was likely due to the a Xaela holding such a passive position. Most of the children of the Dusk Mother he had encountered had been a lot more bombastic and oftentimes aggressive in personality. Having one as a taciturn butler seemed almost counter-intuitive - but the unnaturally burly little Lalafell was not one to judge given his own oddities.

Instead, Chachan freely offered up the little pair of leather boots he had worn for the visit along with a friendly little smile that always came so easily to his freckled features. His hands, now unburdened, clasped themselves neatly over his belly as he looked about the estate - refreshing his memory from his sparse earlier visits. Speaking of his stomach, the delightful scent of prepared food elicited a small rumbling from it - which resulted in an awkward little giggle from the Lalafell.

"A-ah, um, w-well..." he segued less than elegantly. "Whatev'r ya guys are makin', it smells amazin'."

RE: The Household (Closed) - Parvacake - 08-31-2016

Bane took his shoes without another word, dusting them off at least a little bit with a few swipes of his large hand before setting them on a little shelf under the stairs were a variety of other shoes were already being kept. As Gran followed Mikh'a inside, the tot soon began to hobble and follow Olli around with his arms stretched upwards and a soft squeal sounding out. As if he sought to reach for the bit though Olli was a good seven or eight fulms in the air. His bare miqo'te footsies moved over the tiles of the kitchen and dining room with quiet stompstompstomps.

The first face to greet Chahanji was Sara's who ducked from around the kitchen's partition as she dusted off her hands on the skirt of her dress. She wore a simple white cotton dress, light and casual with thin sleeves and the hem trailing down to her ankles. At the sight of the familiar smith, the blonde's lips formed one of her nervous smiles followed by a slight wave. "H-Hello," she murmured with her ever present stutter. "H-How have you b-been?"

Lili left the two to chat for a moment, moving around the partition where the Duskwright was with her infant. "Need any help, dear?" Luxore merely shook his head while Ellie was cradled in one arm. The Rinannis tot was laying on her belly across Lux's arm, cheek smooshed against his forearm with a plentiful amount of drool and spittle staining the sleeve of his tunic while both pairs of limbs hung limply off the sides of his arm. She was fast asleep.

"Are you sure?" She lowered her voice to a dramatic stage whisper as Luxore continued to stir something simmering in a pot. The tone of his voice sounded bored and unphased while the words had their own layer of mirth that spoke for itself. "Lilithium, I live with your son and deal with him on a regular basis. I assure you, the infant is easier to handle then he is."

A voice called from downstairs, "I HEARD THAT!"

RE: The Household (Closed) - Gegenji - 09-01-2016

Where the Miqo'toddler sought to reach the bit by reaching and desire alone, Gran was a bit more pragmatic in his approach. His beady eyes scanned the interior of the estate, looking for any nearby higher ground he could clamber up onto to get at Olli. Given the height, something as simple as a stool or a chair wouldn't be enough for the purple porker - though it might be start. He'd ultimately need a table or a counter-top to be able to make a good jump at the elusive beeping thing. Of course, such perches tended to have stuff on them as well, which could very easily be knocked over or off by a determined baby behemoth mid-scramble.

While Gran was inadvertently seeking a way to cause minor property damage, Chachan obliviously returned Sara's smile and wave with a friendly set of his own. "Hallo, Ms. Sara," came his response along with them, taking a few steps closer to Lili's daughter as the lady Hyur moved around the partition. "'ve been well 'nuff. Smeltin' Guild stuff has been dyin' down some, fort'nately, so 've been able ta focus more on me smithin' work. Th' 'Sworn've been lookin' inta havin' me do some repair work fer them, too, so tha's a plus."

The Lalafell hesitated a bit then, remembering Lili's words regarding her child. The new tonic was apparently helping, but Sara's sickness still meant large chunks of time wrapped up in slumber. A touchy subject to be certain and, given the frown that crossed the mother's face when he asked about it, likely to bring a damper to the girl's mood should it be brought up. Even if the tonic was helping her spend less time bedridden. So, in the end, Chachanji went with a simple, vague: "How 'bout ya?"

Of course, before she could reply, the voice from below caught his long ears. They wiggled a bit in curiosity at the shout, and Chachanji glanced briefly in the direction it had come before returning his attentions to Sara. An idle scratch of a freckled cheek with a gloved hand and he added - with a bit of levity - a quiet: "'n should I ask what tha's 'bout?"

RE: The Household (Closed) - Parvacake - 09-12-2016

Mikh'a was more focused on Ollie as the bit buzzed and whirred around the heads of present companty, chirping happily at the presence of so many together in the house at once. All of them familiar faces, too! Whining softly that Ollie wasn't being his buddy, it was only then that Ollie remembered that he had a much more reachable companion that was more receptive of his company. Those sunburst spires of fur atop his head perked right up before he began scanning around for Gran eagerly. Beaming once the porkling was in his sights, he toddled over quickly as Gran was eyeing the various higher surface for a chance at Olli. Mikh'a crept up behind him and in the typical fashion of a tot without developed social skills...he used both hands to give Gran an enthusiastically hard two handed whap on his hindquarters.

Meanwhile, while her youngest adopted brother was harassing yet another sentient critter, Sara listened with rapt attention to Chacha as he spoke about his work. Still standing with her usual elegant posture and faint smile on her lips so prone to speaking with murmurs and stutters. As she was before him, listening and remaining prone in place, it was hard to think of Sara as being very sickly. With her fair spools of hair and her dual irises of amethyst and lilac, she seemed like a normal woman of wan coloring and pretty features.

The lalafell knew better, as did others. Sara knew this as well so that when he asked how she was? There was no real need to skim on the details. "I-I've been alright. New t-tonics and m-mixtures are helping keep m-me vibrant. I-I went to Ishgard t-to s-see some of the healers t-there and that was r-rather intimidating. I a-always felt like m-my stuttering w-would just make the other Ishgardians m-mad." This was followed by a delicate grimace. Then a quick recovery as she tried to beam. "B-But still a nice t-trip all the same. And-"

At the sound of her eldest brother shouting from downstairs and Chacha's further inquiring, Sara looked back to him after having peeked over her shoulder with the shout. "T-That is my oldest b-brother, Khavan. W-Well, half-brother. S-Same mother and different fathers. L-Lux, who is in the k-kitchen w-with my mother and the b-baby, is his...husband? Bonded? M-Mate?"

Her nose wrinkled with some hesitance while she sought to find a good word to settle on. Finally she said to herself with some finality 'husband' while nodding. "They, ah, b-bicker sometimes. W-Well..." Her smile broadened just a touch. "I-It's mutual. They like to t-tease e-each other though L-Lux is much better a-about it."

Speaking of Lux, the elezen in question also moved from behind the partition and made his way to the two. The duskwright was taller then average with much of his height due to his long legs that were encased in a pair of loose fitting black slacks while a black silk sash was tied around the middle. His darkened flesh stood out all the more due to the white tunic he wore with the first two top buttons undone to expose the column of his throat. Along his left eye was a traditional elezen tattoo in a dark silvery ink, the irises a startling shade of violet as he wordlessly turned his attention to the Doman who barely went past his knee.

"You must be the little house guest." The voice was soft, low. Holding a far more aloof nature and tone despite his attempts at being civil. Along one arm and partially curled into his lean chest was a blonde infant, her baby-fat limbs hanging along either side of Lux's forearm while being leaned into his chest and her face turned to Chacha as she drooled in her sleep. While not seeming to mind, Lux spoke calmly to Sara. "Go ahead and take your sister."

"R-Right!" Ellie didn't stir as she was transferred, allowing Chacha a chance to get a better look at her. Lili didn't often take Ellie out in public or around the general populace, which meant the Rinannis heir was rather enigmatic to any outside of the family or minuscule circle of close friends.

She had a soft, pudgy face as was normal for infants. Looking to be nearing a single cycle or so with a head of blonde ringlets that were allowed to grow out freely. Nearly gracing her shoulders already and complimenting the little pink sun dress she was in.

As Sara got her baby sister adjusted, she smiled at Chacha. "D-Do y-you like children?"

RE: The Household (Closed) - Gegenji - 09-12-2016

Gran had found his first jump - a chair that was angled just slightly out from the table unlike the rest. From there he could move onto the table itself and bring himself that much closer to that buzzing target. He was prepping for his jump - hindquarters wiggling enticingly like a cat as he gauged the distance - when Mikh'a pounced on him. The slap resulted in a surprised squeal and a premature jump that sent the baby behemoth crashing into the leg of chair with surprising force. Enough to possibly break said leg if it wasn't of solid construction.

Chachan's gaze was upturned to Sara as she spoke, giving small nods of understanding as she spoke on the medicines she was taking and her trip to the icy North. He had been up there himself for a short spell - dragged along with the taciturn Virara and the eternal whirlwind of energy that was Memeli Meli. Most of their time was spent training up in the Sea of Clouds, but they had made the occasional trips down into Ishgard proper now and then to resupply. And it was even during one of these trips that Chachan did some refurbishing work for one of the nation's famous Dragoons.

"Ah, so this's normal fer them then?" he asked as the Hyur touched on her brother and his mate, casting another glance over his shoulder as if he might be able to see the man through the floorboards. He looked back to her with a smile to echo the one she had but moments earlier. "W-well, as long as it ain't nothin' serious, right?" A cant of his head before returning to the original subject matter, or at least a tangent thereof. "'n 've actually been ta Ishgard meself once'r twice... 'n I get what ya mean. Jus' 'magine how awkward it was fer someone'a my height."

An awkward chuckle followed the weak attempt at a little mood-brightening humor. And one that drained rather quickly away like water in a drain as the Elezen came around the partition with infant in tow. A bit of a faux pas, perhaps, speaking such of the Ishgardians with Lux apparently so close by - after all, he could have easily been from the nation himself and taken offense. Such concerns caused the Lalafell to flinch a little at the man's words, slowly raising his own violet gaze to the much taller individual.

"A-ah, yeah, tha's me. Nice ta meetcha," Chachan ventured after his quick recovery, rubbing at the back of his neck. The height difference made keeping eye contact difficult even before the Lalafell's penchant of looking away when embarrassment came into play. As such, he was more than willing to change the focus of his attentions to the infant as she changed hands. Which was probably for the best, since the sight of the pudgy little youngling certainly brightened his mood - even before Sara posed her question.

"Oh, um, yeah," he admitted with a light flush and a scratch at the cheek. "M-Ms. Lili was act'lly kinda surprised at how I responded ta lil' Mikh'a, if'n I recall correctly. 'n I like ta think me 'n Ado get along akay, too, given th' couple'a times we've seen each other. Speakin'a, how's he handlin' that hammer I made fer 'im? I hope he dun broke nothin' wit it... 'specially after I was tellin' 'im how important hammers were fer fixin' 'n makin' stuff."

RE: The Household (Closed) - Parvacake - 09-12-2016

The chair held up, thankfully. Most of the furniture in the house was durable and meant to take quite the beating given the children and creatures that so often got a little too rough when playing. Plus, having a minor Voidsent problem had been an issue as well for a time... Which, of course, meant that Gran would have to do a lot more then head bash the leg of the chair for it to be damaged. Mikh'a didn't seem bothered at all by Gran's squeal. In fact, it only made him burst out into giggles. Giggling so hard he flopped onto his back with his limbs flailing.

The other members of the household didn't seem bothered by this in the slightest, merely continuing what they were doing.

"W-Well, some do n-not like small children s-so it's always good to ask." Lux remained quiet, allowing his sister-in-law to speak first before quietly adding, "It takes a lot of patience for one to tolerate the energy of young ones. As for Adokenai...he enjoys the hammer. He tries to use it to hammer things to the floor, however. Or using it on the household bit and mammets."

While the trio conversed with Ellie dozing on Sara's shoulder, Lili started placing the last things of food on the table. Calling over her shoulder, "Dinner!"

Gran grunted irritably as Mikh'a laughed his young heart out, settling down on the floor and pawing at the point of impact on his forehead. Once the initial pain had subsided to a dull throb, he flopped out more completely against the floorboards with a huff. He didn't even want to chase that beeping thing anymore. Bah.

While everyone else seemed indifferent by the crash and peals of laughter, the suddenness of it caused the Lalafell to yelp and jump a couple ilms into the air in alarm. Once he realized no one was hurt - except maybe for Gran's pride - and nothing was damaged, he let out a little sigh of relief. The fact that no one else seemed too upset both helped and made him feel a bit foolish for his reaction. Hand still resting against his chest and a light flush of embarrassment tinging his freckled cheeks, he turned back to Lux and Sara with an awkward little laugh as he tried to play the whole thing off.

"A-ah, yeah... hammerin' thin's," he repeated with a hurried nod. "W-well, tha's why I made th' head outta rubber. So he couldn't break nothin' when he's swingin' it around. I jus' hope he ain't bein' too much of a pro'lem with it..."

His rather rambling attempt to keep any conversation away from his startling was aided somewhat by Lili's call, giving him something else to talk about.

"Oh, um, I guess it's time ta eat, huh" Another awkward little chuckle. "I-I could smell th' food when I came in, so 'm really lookin' forward ta it."

Mikh'a could not be deterred in his delight at seeing Gran fail at catching the bit. As he crawled over to Gran, he flopped his face into the porkling's belly with indiscernable babbles that were interrupted by more giggles of youthful delight. Luxore broke away from ChaCha and Sara to pluck up Mikh'a, who gave grunting whines of displeasure at being pulled away from Gran. His ears even drooped with dislike.

Meanwhile, while patting at Ellie's back, she gave ChaCha a softened smile that was mostly apologetic when she saw him jump at Gran's plight. "H-He' been handling the responsibility rather w-well. He only ever h-hit t-the littles ones with i-it once or twice and learned h-his lesson that it w-was bad." With a tilt of her head towards the table, she silently beckoned him near the table. "Y-You can sit besides me, i-if you'd like." Sara took a spot in the middle, which meant ChaCha would be seated right besides the head of the table.

Booming steps came up the stairs while Lili continued setting out plates and dishes and Lux got Mikh'a situated in a elevated chair in the middle of the table across from Sara. The figure who emerged was a large midlander who easily towered over everyone else in the household with Lux being the closest to his height. Though highlander in height, his build was a touch too lean. He had wider eyes as well, the crimson irises alight with dry humor while he eased himself into a chair at the head of the table.

"Smells good, Ma." Lili ruffled his hair as she passed and eased into the chair in front of ChaCha's seat. The spread was a rich, hearty chili with two loaves of warm corbread. A dish of butter was to the side as well as a jar of honey, salt and pepper shakers, and shredded cheeses. A large garden salad in a bowl with some vinagerettes were besides the cornbread.

"Help yourselves!" With Ellie on one shoulder still dozing, Sara began to make herself a bowl and the others followed suite. The late coming midlander glanced to ChaCha with a smirk that matched the dry humor still reflected on the rest of his face. "You're the Doman smith, aye?"
