HI! I was signing on here to get a feel for the RP community before I truly dig into the game. Is there a specific Server Im wanting to try to get into? Certain things I should know, etc?

Ayyy, hello!
You'll find most RP over at the Balmung server. There have been a few attempts to establish RP communities at Gilgamesh and Jenova(?), but Balmung definitely has the majority.
As far as what you should know, not much! I think you'll get the hang of it fairly quicky, if you roam around a bit and explore the FC/LS listing, and perhaps lurk on Balmung at various events and the Quicksand in Ul'dah (which has the most public RP traffic).
I'm sure others have some great advice to share, but that's all I've got. :U I hope you like it here!

Welcome to the RPC!
Gilgamesh RP has their own website away from the RPC that might be worth checking out before you decide on a new home.  Jenova RP is small but growing, if you like helping a community build from the ground up.  If you're just looking for a place that already seethes with RP, then Balmung is your best bet.  (I only play on Balmung, so I might be biased... XD)
Be sure to check out the Free Company Hall or the Linkshell Hall to find Free Companies and public groups that may suit your character.  They can be searched/separated by server, in case you want to see what groups are located on your target servers.
For lore questions, be sure to check out Sounsyy's Lore Compilations; she's done an amazing job with compiling a lot of the game lore into easy-to-find threads!

Welcome to the RPC! I would say to aim for Balmung, make a full roster of 8 characters and wait three days so you can just transfer them all over at once and you won't have to worry about the server wait nonsense in the future if ever you feel like dabbling with a new character.
