I'm not here to promise you a future with glory, sunshine and sparkles and all the applause of the Grand Companies. I'm here to give you a leg up, a second chance, an opportunity to find your own way." "We here at Fool's Rest, we don't really got any better idea than you do about things like right, wrong, good, evil, the future, purpose, meaning, and all that other manure folks spread around all over the landscape. We just do what we can to do what we feel is right by others. Folks, they don't always agree with that. But we've made peace with that. I've got enough friends fighting in the light playing things by the books. We're just fine living in the shadows looking out for one another, and for Eorzea." OOC: Fool's Renaissance is a roleplaying free company situated in FFXIV's Balmung server. We're a Medium to Heavy RP company focused on overarching plots, personal storylines, and internal character conflict. Characters come from every walk of life, with a general theme of broken pasts and hopeful futures. With the eclectic cast of characters at our disposal, stories tend to waffle between occult horror, crime drama, conspiracy, film noir, and at times, yes, we even dare to do adventurer's tales. While we are advertised as a Vigilante group, our goal isn't to lock you into that. We welcome roleplayers from all walks of life who want to live on the cusp of such a theme, or even want a place to call home. Our time zones are primarily U.S. based. Rules: Please don't misrepresent the company and be respectful towards one another OOC. IC conflict happens; if we feel that the bridge between IC/OOC is crossed, we'll try to work things out. There are many common sense things we ask you to avoid, like ERPing in public and harassing your fellow roleplayers. Otherwise we have a very open view on RP and the lore but ask that RPers don't deviate too wildly from core aspects of the lore that are important not only to our internal players, but community players as well to establish a unified setting. While many of us participate in shadowy, dark storylines, be respectful if someone finds something you do offensive or rude. But also be mindful: character conflict can and will happen. If you find certain themes another player is doing to be not to your taste, you have a right to back out of a story. Leadership: Doctor Kaisin Ozerov: Occult Wahoo and tax dodger.
