New RPer on Mateus - Zanu - 08-10-2017 I preordered Stormblood when it came out but just was able to sit down and start FFXIV for the first time a few days ago. I'm pretty new to the game but joined Mateus hoping to get into RP! I used to play FFXI but I've never done MMO RP. I've done RP on forums quite a bit though! I'm trying to read a bit of lore without getting into spoiler territory so I can try to make my character a little more lore friendly. I've always enjoyed RPing shopkeepers and my base story (I'm still working on details and deciding if I want to go with it) is that I was adopted by Hyur outside of Gridania as a baby after losing my parents. (I'm Mi'qote.) After growing up on a struggling gysahl greens farm I started realizing my real dream was to own my own shop like the ones I saw when I traveled to Ul'Dah as a child. Unfortunately I quickly realized that making a living in Ul'Dah was going to require a lot more money or a lot less morals so I decided I would train to become an adventurer saving up my coin to one day open my shop. I'm not the greatest adventurer and I'm still sticking to simple jobs, afraid to take on anything dangerous... which is slowing down my progress a lot so I spend a lot of time trying not to get disheartened about my progress. Something like that basically. I'm still working on it a bit. I'm Zanu Tayuun on Mateus and would love to make some friends to help me learn the ropes of MMO RP.
