BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.

Anyone heard of been able to confirm that Collectors Edition is getting both items for preordering? I remember reading it on Bestbuy's website or Gamestop's.

I'm sure I read somewhere that it was confirmed, but of course I can't remember where.

Yeah, but that's a pretty old statement. The one I remember reading is much newer.

Doublepost, but I found this: http://www.ffxivcore.com/topic/8711-bes ... nion-helm

Well I can hope that the goggles are indeed a pre-order item and the helm is a CE item

Re: Which version of the game will you be getting? - Kashemia - 08-07-2010

I'd love to get the goggles, I'd never use the helmet. But I'd might not use the goggles anyway, I can imagine them being a bit over popular...

I believe it was eventually confirmed somewhere that goggles = standard pre-order and helm = CE pre-order.

Square-Enix said the goggles were put in to give the standard pre-order people a way to catch up to the CE pre-orders.

I've pre-ordered the CE version, and I may pick up a copy of the PS3 version when it comes out as well. Hopefully it comes with some cool in-game item as well.

lol, well if my ex hadn't caused me to be so tight with money I'd just get the PC version then get the PS3 version when it came out. Unfortunatly, while I'm paying a mortgage all on my lonesome, I have no money left over for such pleasentries. Tongue

I think the biggest benefit of the CE will be getting to play for 8 days in the starting areas with less competition, and hopefully less congestion and crashes. Particularly if you plan to start in Gridania along with about half the server.

Yeah, I'm pretty certain that's the case, too. It's a damn shame, though, not to mention flawed logic; assuming the goggles don't stop working at some point, an effect like that would have to be pretty minor, or else SE pre-ordering folk would quickly surpass everyone else. That said, we don't know how big or small the bonus is, so who can say?

This is a very good point. My laptop runs the game a little slowly, but the fewer people around me, the better it runs. :p

I think they said somewhere that they only works up to a certain level. So yeah, I guess I agree that it's probably not with the CE.
About the lag, I agree, but on the other hand, it wouldn't surprise me if there's still a LOT of people who get CEs. So there will probably still be quite a lot of people around. Though of course, splitting it means that it will be less than if they didn't, so still great ^^
