Striding Oak - Eliane Dufresne - 11-13-2013

I. Basic Info
  • Characters: Striding Oak
  • Primary character: Striding Oak
  • Linkshells: Runebound, Traveling Templar, Broken Chairs
  • Primary RP linkshell: Runebound/Traveling Templar
II. RP Style
  • Amount of RP (light, medium, heavy):
Medium to Heavy. I'm always IC unless I'm otherwise occupied grinding or dungeon-diving.

  • Views on RP combat and injuries:
I'm open to RP combat, though I don't like doing it often, and Oak's difficult to provoke as it is. I prefer to engage with people I trust, because my preferred method of combat is typing out open-ended emotes that allow for the other person to react and determine whether or not they're hit. This allows for control over the fight, diversity in the fight, and keeps the field set so that a character who is supposed to be a skilled fighter isn't defeated merely by bad dice throws. That said, I'll use dice in the (admittedly rare) instance I engage in RP combat with someone I don't know as well. Really, just talk to me first, and we'll work something out. I'm flexible. Injuries I'm totally cool with. A true badass is not someone who never gets hurt, or never loses. A true badass is someone who comes back in spite of that.

  • Views on IC romance:
I never actively seek it. I prefer for it to happen naturally, as a side-effect of Oak and someone else getting to know each other and spending time together. If that occurs, great! If not, no big deal.

  • Views on non-romantic RP (family ties, etc):
Always open to create family ties, old rivalries, and whatever else. Character connections are great! Come talk to me and let's get to know one another's characters. We'll brainstorm from there. Smile

  • Views on lore:
I'm still learning the lore myself, so I'd be a hypocrite if I was a total hardass about it. I feel it's best to stick to the lore as much as possible, but I also think it's cool if people bend the lore to create new and interesting RP, as long as it's bent within reason.

  • Views on chat functions (/say, /linkshell, etc):
/say will always be IC for me. Everything else will vary depending on the channel and what it's being used for.
III. Other Info
