Does your character have any unfair Bias or Discrimination? - Kage - 09-30-2014

Recently chatting with friends while at work... We started to talk about our characters' biases towards certain races.

For example:

Kage dislikes femRoes. Every single one of them has either turned out crazy or the first few meetings he's had with them were "omg she's crazy too?!"
2 of them actively tried to kill him, kidnap him, hold him hostage.... one unintentionally shanked him while she ran away.

He also doesn't like lancers much. They have also tried to kill him. Also, sword users tend to be at a small disadvantage against pole arms :c

Well... Xydane hates every single race equally. Does that count? Big Grin

Hyur master race or he hates himself too?

RE: Does your character have any unfair Bias or Discrimination? - Chika Ito - 09-30-2014

Well I don't know if this counts, but Chika was once asked her preferences on romantic partners and races. She doesn't like Lalafells because they look too much like a kid, and Roes could break her. Outside of that, however, Elezen. She dislikes a lot of Elezen because the ones she has come across have been stuck up (She was once helping serve at a party, a male Elezen treated her like she was worth dirt and a slave. She put raptor piss in his drink xD )

Unfortunate experience has taught Ros that the blood in Seeker males usually tends to only flow in one direction.

It's ok. Nat doesn't care.

Edit: but now the failed experiment has worn off. lol

RE: Does your character have any unfair Bias or Discrimination? - Aya - 09-30-2014

Aya doesn't think highly of proper Ishgardians (i.e. those who are members of, or work for the Houses, Dragoons, anyone involved with the Church, etc), that extends somewhat generally to Wildwood Elezen.

RE: Does your character have any unfair Bias or Discrimination? - C'kayah Polaali - 09-30-2014

C'kayah doesn't like Roegadyn, males or female. The irony of his employment by a Sea Wolf gang is not lost on him.

He's fairly biased against Moonkeepers at this point, too, with very few exceptions (Hi Suri! Hi Liana!). When he was younger he listened to the stories his maternal grandmother (a Moonkeeper) would tell him and thought favorably of them. Now, after long association, he thinks that most are crazier than a bag of cats and understands fully why grandma left her clan to join grandpa's tribe.

He could take or leave Lalafell, too.

He does like a few Duskwights, though he hasn't met many Wildwood Elezen he likes.

He can count the Hyur he cares for on the fingers of one hand. Even after an unfortunate accident.

Traditional Seekers aren't the greatest in his mind, either.

I guess you'd say he likes the people he likes, and doesn't really care for the rest of them. Big Grin

RE: Does your character have any unfair Bias or Discrimination? - Berrod Armstrong - 09-30-2014

/WHIPS OUT THE LIST
/watches it roll down the street

I'll take three I guess...

Berrod objectifies women in a manner that makes him see them as legs, boobs and hips before anything else. He'll hardly look upon a woman respectfully until he's interacted with her. He shares a similar sentiment toward men, but he is likely to respect them on at least hearsay.

Living on the streets of Ul'Dah has given him a measure of distaste toward well-off Lalafell. He believes them to be scheming, lying and two-timing little bastards that will screw over anyone to get what they want. He even thinks Momodi may have an agenda.

HE HATES SWEETS. Damn he hates sweets.

Note to self: Send Berrod a cake. And some tea to go with it.

Well then, I guess it's a good thing kage was dis-inherited.

Of course Momodi has an agenda!  "Make as much gil from these grubby adventurer's as possible!"

*says the set of measurements* Smile

RE: Does your character have any unfair Bias or Discrimination? - Verad - 09-30-2014

Verad has a hell of a time telling Lalafell genders apart. He tries to avoid cold pitching to Lalas because of this unless context clues have given him a clear sense of which pronoun to use, because nothing will shut down a sale faster than using the wrong one.

He is extremely partial to femRoes, to such an extent that it can and will cloud his better judgment, which is why he recently accepted some voidsent blood and other, more unpleasant, thaumaturgical bits and bobs as possible sale-able items.
