As for the thread, most of mine have already been said, but I have to reiterate the whole book-page-for-one-hair-flip-and-a-hello problem. Â In a game with no speech bubbles chat scroll needs to be budgeted in public RP, and I'd rather that space be taken up with conversation than descriptions through emote on what your shoes look like, despite them being right there on your character.
(of course this is mainly for the more 'lax RP like sitting by the campfire, or on the beach enjoying the waves. It's a different thing if shenanigans are afoot.)
Edit: Another one that I just remembered: Unless you want your character's accent to be comically unintelligible, don't make your characters dialogue horrifically unreadable with more apostrophes than letters. Some characters I've met over the years had very interesting bios, but I never got to experience those characters' awesomeness e'c's 'ere 'ext 'lwa's look'd 'ike 'is.
