"Master Vann? Could we trouble you to impart some words on your experiences? We would be honored to see a glimpse into that mind of yours."
"Of course." Otto Vann would find his way up to the ‘stage’, clearing his throat with a gloved hand to his mouth as he turned to face the crowd and addressing them fully, speaking with his hands as much as his words while he began. “Good evening.  I’m Otto Vann.  Self-acclaimed Master Goldsmith and Weaver of Ul’Dah, and ever intrepid entrepreneur.† He’d tsk once as he went past his preamble and into the main speech he had thought of.
"I actually have something similar to say as compared to Chachan, but from a slightly different perspective. Â Forgive me everyone if you hear the same lesson twice."

“I suppose, we should get right to it.  Byregot was and is a smith by trade and to me, there are a lot of implications that come with that.  We all know that his symbol is a Hand, and if you were to ask most honest crafters and artisans, we beseech his Blessing in our own work with our hands.  Though I personally am not one to call myself much of a blacksmith.  A lot here know that I have passionately pursued the art of working with precious metals instead as well as fabrics.â€
“And that’s the point.  More than a few people get wrapped up in the notion that if they aren’t rigidly aligned with the ideals of Byregot, and that if they aren’t a Smith by trade they will fail to find his favor. “  Otto shook his head, “No.  No, what really matters is taking pride in your art.  Because the act of crafting with your hands, /is/ art.â€
“Much like how Byregot took real pride in his efforts when he learned from Thaliak, the first step for anyone aspiring to become an Artisan much like myself or ,ah Chachan here, is to take true pride in your work, your art.  Simply hammering away at an anvil will do no one any good.â€
"I can assure you that if you do, the Blessing will follow.  Not everyone needs to find fame and fortune, just the desire to improve their world with their arts.  I don’t need money anymore, I don’t need recognition anymore yet I still do my work.  That’s actually what keeps me going most of all, the unending need to improve the world around me.  I still create new clothing designs and jewelry because I enjoy trying to improve the world and how it looks.â€
“I love sharing the Blessing I have, and yes I get paid to do that usually, but that’s more of a perk than the main reason.  That’s what motivates me to strive towards a closeness with Byregot and his ideals of the Hand.  Letting him work through me and what I envision. “
Chachanji flushes a little at all the references to him, waving away any glances in his direction.
“A lot of people have come to me in the past, seeking to be trained by me due to the reputation I have gained over my time in business.  One, I feel for them, I doubt they are ready for that sort of disappointment.  Two, they always expect for me to just guide their hand, and show them a manual and that will be all it takes with practice.  That isn’t how blessed art comes about.  It’s not even just a matter of ‘practice more’.  Believe in your work, and it will come about.â€
Otto bows. "Thank you."
