While I may have been late (thankfully still got to participate!), it seemed that people were bidding at a responsible and reasonable rate. Barring of course, a few outliers.Â
Me being one of them, as honestly? As I was internally debating about bidding higher on someone and typing, they were taken out from under me. I could have easily gone higher, but that "invisible mark" was met, and I could no longer even bid.
So the next person that struck my character's fantasy, I bid all 100 tokens. Just because I did not wish to have the choice taken away from me.Â
But the downside to that, is that others might have wished to bid on them! And I just took the choice away from them.
Another thing to consider, is to place a cut off time for when people can get tokens. Just because new people can come in at any time, and get a fresh set. Which can then skew the whole system. Not to mention, the possibility for abuse... Person could alt hop, to keep getting new sets of tokens, and all the dates they want. Once again, preventing others from being able to take part.
And the last thing that I would say to consider, put in a disclaimer that people from the same FC cannot bid on each other. They can arranged rp anytime! They have the means to communicate already built in. This is an event to meet new people, spread your horizons, etc etc. So, it should (in my opinion) be used for that.
Very good points.
As for people bidding within the same FC - Personally I encouraged my own to not go for our own, which I think most kept to. I wouldn't want to bar it out entirely, on one side it's going to be harder to track - but you may also have people that are not icly involved with their FC, or have FC's where close interaction between it's members is not always a given.
I do agree on setting a cut-off time for obtaining tokens, though I would perhaps be inclined to let it cut off half way through the auctions rather than at a set time.. What I did notice was that people beyond the ones being auctioned off were somewhat slow to arrive, so it's getting a balance between wanting to embrace late-comers but also wanting to indeed prevent abuse.
So if we do a repeat of this then the threshold and a cut off time for tokens will probably be things I'll change about.
Thanks for the feedback, it means a lot!
