"I have more than a few who would, but it's best for everyone if they look elsewhere. Menphina plays cruel jokes on honest men, and I won't be a part of Her games any longer." He lets that hang for a moment, then frowns.
"No, I think that's not quite it. That's what I would choose to believe, but not the truth. The truth is that I tire of letting those important to me down, so I keep everyone away." He smiles bitterly. "Who among us doesn't feel similarly, though?"
