Hope all goes well ^^ given the time in est I will 100% not be able to really make it (or if im online I wouldn't have the uninterrupted time to bother going). Real life and all that.. Kat knows my hectic life style having to put up with it a few times first hand haha...
Best of luck on things though~! also ... Crisiet, that is not a saying I have heard in a long while so I admit I kind laughed at it. Wiki:Â Lorraine Dunois

Updated scene in "...And Into The Fire."
Today is the big day! Let's have fun, everyone. And ForbieJD, I'll make sure Kat makes Pyralis turn Super Saiyan 6 and create a crater at the event location. |

Thus ends the first chapter of the Ishgard Exiles plot.
What I plan to improve for chapter 2: My GM/DM skills. I'll admit that the event being delayed was mostly my fault. However, I am still quite new to GM/DMing events. I did not expect the endless flurry of countless tells. I did not expect our original event site to be swarming with baddies, and the back-up site to be a place for Leves AND I did not expect 20 players to show up since it was looking like I was going to have problems even getting 14 to show up. In the future, I will anticipate all of this, and do even more prior planning. Event times. I -did- say in a previous post that this event would take awhile. It was a huge event with a major effect on the plot. There was no speeding it up, but some people got antsy. From now on, almost all future events will be kept under or at the two-hour mark. Only special ones will be longer, and in those cases, I will make it abundantly clear beforehand. Combat System. The combat system will not be used in every event where there is fighting. In most cases, I will allow everyone to free-form. However, when we do use it again, it needs some improvement. If you think about it, it wasn't too bad. We WON after all, and didn't need to use all our trump abilities or trump characters. Something like making the roll 1D100 would be an improvement. The rolz RNG system seems to have an odd way of giving uber-high numbers or pathetically low numbers with not much in between when we use 1D20. I also may replace trump abilities with a forgo allowance which will let everyone forgo a bad roll once during an event. What I plan to change. I am hoping to get the Exiled Order into the open world a bit more. We were a group of exiles hiding from assassins. But now that our enemies have been dealt a heavy blow, they will have to operate in a more subtle and careful way. The Exiles can now maybe become something more. Something like a group that aids and protects the interests of Ishgard exiles and refugees throughout Eorzea. Character conflict. Xydane gave us some character conflict with his knights, but he is done with the plot for now. We need others to fill that void, and if we get out more into the open world, I am sure it can be easier to find those who will be at odds with us. I will be looking into this. Events. Instead of a huge event or meeting every two weeks, I will be doing small-scale events twice a week. These will be for the purposes of keeping us entertained and busy in between major events. They will not be obligatory, and will be held at various times. They may even be random sometimes. I am still working on the main point of the story, but without much lore on Ishgard, it is not easy. Hopefully the future update will reveal more lore for us to use. Despite the complications, I enjoyed the event, and I hope everyone else did as well. |

Speaking as someone with experience in running large scale combat events, they are always, always like trying to herd cats no matter how you go about it. All you can do is attempt to reduce the confusion. I noticed a lot of people getting confused about emote order, for example.Â
For someone who is new to DMing large scale events, you did really well throughout this whole chapter of the plot. I'm looking forward to future events. |

It can't be said enough.
THANK YOU for all your work Kiht! You and Xydane too. There were a lot more people there yesteday than I'd ever imagined, and I know running something like that is... as Cris said, like herding cats. You did great. And all the effort and time put into it, sometimes it can go unnoticed. I am sorry to have missed all the RP after, but I was happy to be a small part either way. Aaand I am sure I will track you down for more scenes in the near future. Â Good job. |

I wasn't part of this last event but I was enjoying myself reading the ooc chat in the LS ^-^ have to say that was making my day (also given when my character was even invited to the LS she wouldn't have had a clue as to the battle plans anyway ).Â
Also on the note of leading and the people there. I'm sure you did a fine job. Like you said the group won the battle so it couldn't have been too terrible. Trial and error are the only ways you can refine systems for future events to say the least. <3 Wiki:Â Lorraine Dunois

Yeah, the banter on LS chat was super fun. I had a lot of fun playing with everyone throughout the event, and though Yvelont has been keeping himself at arm's length from.. pretty much everyone, I hope he gets to know many of you IC as we keep the RP going. These sorts of things can always become monstrous to handle! From the chatter I was following it sounded like a lot of fun, even if the numbers spiraled out of control! The energy and excitement around the storyline and events is testament to how much fun people are having, and how great of a job you have done!
I didn't participate in the event, but was so happy to get brought into the plot at least secondarily, thank you so much Osric and Kiht! I hope to see some Exiles at the Quick Sand sometime...! |
