I found out that there is a growing Earthbound running community.

So I checked my subscriptions page, and saw that Geek & Sundry was up. it has Felicia Day and I've been very interested in some of their tabletop showcases. What caught my attention was this Let's Play today. It's for Hatoful Boyfriend. xD; ((I'm sorry but I really actually quite enjoyed the story-telling in this visual novel "dating sim" I mean, it's completely ridiculous but the story is interesting.)) |

Stumbled across an old favorite couple of LPs today, both done by the same pair of people:
Rockman Exhaust Rockman Minimum It's ROMhacks, sure, but there's some amusing little antics in the editing the two do. A personal favorite is Punch Donkey in the Wily 1 bit in Rockman Exhaust. Some of the little antics are put in so fluidly that you don't even notice them sometimes, it's pretty great. I've also been watching TeamFourStar's playthrough of Dragonball Xenoverse and enjoying that one quite a bit. Mostly because of their character and the voice they have bequeathed upon him. Good ol' Dumplin. |

Speaking of Mega Man, Simply Simon has a pretty good analysis of the original NES games and the Game Boy versions. He's got an interesting way of looking at game design and explaining why he thinks things are good or bad that opened my eyes; I've never thought that much about some of the points he brings up but he does a good job of showing what makes stuff "fun" in those games.

I was, in fact, looking at those when I remembered the ones I linked, actually. Go figure. |

Makes sense. If I remember right Simon was even one of the playtesters for Minus 4. That or he was given the early version of it to run through. I suppose those are the same thing, really. Huh. |

Some of my favorite LP's for sheer and utter nonsense are done by Helloween4545 and Jesse Cox. I love informative LP's as much as the next person, but sometimes I just want a bit of hilarious dialogue that I can occasionally tune out into white noise.
To be honest, I really can't watch Markiplier anymore for his longer LP's. I'm really not enjoying his run of Fatal Frame 2 in the least as his attempts to play to the audience, which is his job and normally something I find hilarious, ruin the atmosphere of the game for me. Particularly since he keeps on forgetting to listen to the Spirit Radio. That said I still adore his Outlast series and frequently go back to it when possible. I don't know why I'm so turned off by his show these days, when I can still watch Helloween and Jesse however. I've never been able to watch PewDiePie, though from what I've heard of Cryaotic from his appearances on the Co-Optional Podcast and his LP of Dandelion with Dodger I might give him a shot. |
