I really wish the game'd come out but I'm not entirely sure why they just don't prevent EVERYONE from logging in while they work and stop having to worry about, likely, a flood of reports and tickets about not being able to log in. I mean, I know the people paid and what not but they can be refunded their time and it seems like it would just be easier to boot everyone off instead of trying to fix something while people are thrashing wildly around and breaking everything all over again with the sheer mass. Just fix it without the pretense of letting some of the people play some of the time and be done with it.
In theory that would work but it depends on the bugs. A lot of the problem here is the volume of people. You can't test the floodwalls when it's calm as glass outside. And you can't find the bug fixes if people aren't finding the bugs for you. And you can't find bugs or bug fixes if the entire server is turned off. True this is what the betas are intended for but since we are past beta, they really can't fix the problems without the servers being online.
You're right. It just seems like it would be easier to try a fix then open the servers and let people come in, if not, do it again. It just seems they're getting hopes up and trying to micro-correct it in tiny increments so that the servers might be able to hold juuuuust a bit more after the last person gets in there.
I know that's impossible and ridiculous of me to think. ^.^;
