Character

Given name: Y'el Vhez (El of the Jaguar Tribe, daughter of Vhez)

Pronunciation: [Yah-el Vez]

General

Having forgotten the face of her mother, Y’el seeks to emulate her through vicious combat. With her memories obscured by blinding light, she will never know if she has risen out of her mother’s shadow. The shattered branch of her tribe expects her to be the keystone in rebuilding, but Y’el refuses to comply. Instead she chooses to carve out her own destiny, swath by bloody swath, all while giving her chosen consorts the runaround.

Behavior

Socially

Y'el is, for the most part, the quiet sort. She typically sticks to the fringes, speaking only if approached first. Stony as her exterior may appear, at times it chips away to reveal a surprisingly open, flirtatious demeanor.

Though an avid hunter, she's not not one to boast about her conquests, so the trophies she collects are merely a personal hobby.

Martially

In combat, Y’el transforms into a screaming fury, wildly lashing out at foes, as well as friends unfortunate enough to end up in melee range. Some might call her a credit to Rhalgr, her patron deity, but most would just call her a raging lunatic. When the battle’s done, Y’el reverts to an eerily calm state, no matter how wounded.

Tendencies

  • The feeling of bones breaking under fist
  • Bathing in the blood of fallen foes
  • Chocolate

Dislikes

  • Accidentally destroying a target utterly
  • Animated skeletons, slimes, and other things that don’t bleed
  • Her retainers

History

Before the Calamity

The daughter of a powerful warrior and particularly fertile Nuhn, Y’el is the closest thing her people have to a princess. Her mother was among those who vanished on the battlefield, while her father perished ignobly as their homeland was ravaged and reshaped. Young Y’el was just coming of age when Dalamund happened, so her clan desperately needed her to do her part in the arduous process of rebuilding and repopulating. Y’el refused, choosing instead to head out on her own. Much to her elders’ dismay, her rebellious sense of adventure inspired other young Miqo’te to undertake journeys of their own.

The Past Five Years

Even as Y’el traveled further and further from her tribal homeland, the elders continued to try and coax her back. They said she was setting a bad example, that her branch of the tribe would wither and die without the continuation of her bloodline, and finally that she was just being a selfish brat.

As a last resort, the elders begged her to at least have others of the tribe accompany her on her adventure, so that her survival might be assured. Y’el agreed, if only to shut them up. She was joined soon after by Y’tikal and Y’sayil, twin brothers from another branch of the Jaguar tribe.

The twins were promised they would officially earn full mating rights after successfully breeding with Y’el. If one succeeded, both would be Nunh. If they failed, they would remain Tia until the day they died. Eager to win Y’el’s favor, the brothers readily agreed to whatever she asked of them, no matter how menial, and were overjoyed when she finally reciprocated by allowing them into her bed.

Up Until Recently

Months passed, a mating schedule was worked out, and yet nothing came of the regular couplings. In truth, this was because Y’el had been taking a concoction of herbs to assure there was no chance of getting pregnant by either twin. Still, the boys are useful, so regular sex seems a fair enough exchange for all their hard work. The increasing frustration of her elders at their lack of results? That’s merely a bonus.

Relationships

Family

Her parents are dead. The others, and she has many brothers and sisters, mean very little to Y'el.
