1. I'd love a discord invite, whenever you've time. Thanks!
2. Not new to rp, but sort of new to the RPC forums. So, hello! I've been around XIV for about a year, but recently decided to try and expand some RP connections. There's only so much a person can do within one's FC, and I want more! So, in that regard, here goes. --- Datih, at present, is a member of the Rogue's Guild. Having been sold into slavery at five cycles, he spent ten years living on the sea - a servant, a pirate, and a source of entertainment, in fluctuating measures. At fifteen, he found escape with the Rogues, who taught him a law to live by, one he still holds to do this day. I'm in the market for most types of M/RP. Looking to build some roguish plots at minimal and possibly network with other, similar sorts of folks.
3. Personal Profile Character Name: I'datih Slver Gender: Male Race: Seeker/Keeper Miqo'te Domestic Profile Civil Status: Citizen Place of Residence: Limsa Occupation: Rogue, barkeep Free Company: Winter's Wake Social Profile A care-free man, more concerned about doing as he pleases than paying mind to what other might suggest he do. Though he seems to be fairly upbeat most of the time, a handful of things can spark him into anger. Despite his apparent disregard for any rules or law, he does keep very close to the code as given by the Rogues' Guild. He can be nearly inflexible when it comes to upholding it, especially the tenets regarding the innocent and slavery. Though work for Wake takes him away from Limsa from time to time, he can usually be found around the docks or, more often, the dive bar he runs. Meta Profile Datih is a rogue of the Dutiful Sisters variety. Prior to his joining, he lived on the sea as both a slave and a pirate, and some might know him/of him in one or both of these capacities. Though he has tried to distance himself from what he considers his former life, there is always the chance to stir up old wounds. He keeps a small dive bar that is ICly located somewhere down a seedy Limsan alleyway, but OOCly is an apartment in the Mists. While I have classes 8am-3pm M-F (and due to bus traveling, get home around 5ish Central Time), I'm available for much longer during weekends. This might be changing come summertime.
4. With Autriche making progress, and Jilan (slowly) trucking along as well, I figure it's time to add Mathye to the mix. While I've yet to get a wiki page up for him (because I'm a huuuuuge procrastinator), I can give a quick rundown of the basics. Mathye Larkin is the son of a minor Eorzean (or Garlean - up in the air, either could work, really) noble who - being fourth born and youngest - never received much in the way of attention from his family. The fact that he was never physically strong and prone to illness didn't help things, especially when it came to his father's approval. He spent his youth on his own, for the most part. Books were his family, and through them he learned other strengths. Unfortunately, an accident with a spell resulted in the death of a relative and left him near dead. He did manage to recover, however, thanks to the help of his second oldest sister. The pair formed a kinship after that, but the rest of his siblings turned their backs on him. It was not long after that that he and his sister left home. Stowing away on a ship bound for Limsa Lominsa, the pair were discovered and the captain, instead of sending them home or stranding them somewhere, allowed them to stay and work for their passage. Mathye and his sister decided to join up fully with the crew for a while, and did so for a few years. Life with pirates teaches one some bad habits, however, and Mathye has picked up a few. He's grown more than a little mistrustful of others, and developed quite the liking for rum. Recently, he has decided to retire from life on the sea for a while, and has settled in Limsa to resume his studies of arcanum, a skill that fell to the wayside during his years abroad. Hopefully things go well for him.
5. I am in love with the dice generator. I think I'll let Autriche and Jilan grow organically (for the most part), but Mathye just got a full backstory.
6. Personally, I'd go with something simple as a jumping-off point, and figure out other details during RP. Though, if you want to use the ideas you've come up with thus far, the idea with you Midlander with the fallen family could be simplified. Maybe they're a jack-of-all-trades because they like hunting (lancer or archer) but family traditions dictate that they must learn alchemy or something. So, sneaking off to study the "forbidden" discipline when not studying the one their family wants. Maybe men learn the arts A, B, and C and women have to learn X, Y, and Z in Midlander's village, because Traditions. This all could result in Midlander deciding to run away/get exiled when the village learns Midlander's "extricurricular activities"/be sent to study the expected art because Reasons (some version of Rumspringa or something) and Midlander decides to use the opportunity to further study the art they genuinely like. Of course, you don't have to decide to go with any of this, I'm just tossing the ideas out there and hopefully it was helpful.
7. Character: Autriche Vallano Gender: Female Interested In: Men
8. I need to get Autriche's bio properly written, but being the adopted daughter of Ul'Dahn merchants would probably mean an acquaintenceship (at least) with Tarot. I shall have to give you a poke next time I'm on.
9. _05rnEnexM4 For Jilan. Stylistically, it's more fitting for someone hailing from Thanalan rather than the Shroud, but it's the best song I know for general themes of not being able to return to one's home and holding on to one's culture. zDX0TZ3Kca4 For Autriche, probably Lifetime of Adventure by Tuomas Holopainen.
10. Pondering what would have Jilan meander to the Wench, but I'm sure I can think of something between now and then.
11. I am super tempted to either make a Crow Alt or use one of my other characters for this. This sounds super fun. Are you still looking for Crows, by the by?
12. Oooh. Zhi's a rather colorful one, isn't she? I do think it'd be rather interesting for her and Jilan to meet. Criminal stuff isn't entirely foreign to Jilan, though the banditry she engaged in in Gridania is a far cry below what I'm sure Zhi get's up to. I'm already digging this idea. >D
13. I am horrid at introductions, usually. I'm looking for rp partners, preferably in/around Limsa Lominsa. Jilan is newly arrived in the port city, having stowed away in an airship to get there, and is a bit green around the gills when it comes to big cities and non-Miqo'te culture. She's unlikely to be all that receptive to Hyur, blaming them for the Calamity, but she'll likely get on with Lalafel, Elezen (having met many living in the Shroud), and especially other Miqo'te. It could be the cargo she hid in to get there belonged to someone, or someone's employer. Could wind up in a chance meeting while exploring the city. Possibilities are fairly open in that regard.
14. Hihi! I have a Keeper from the Shroud who's a bandit in (pretty much) exile. Of her tribe, the ones who aren't dead are locked up for banditry, so she's in the market for a new posse to run with.
