  3. Thanks, all of you for the warm welcomes. And the compliments for Arlia's look! I'll keep your offers for RP in mind! As for my outfit, they're a mix! But the hat and top are Orthodox gear pieces from the Aery dungeon.
  4. I. Basic Info Characters:Arlia Kreiston Linkshells: N/A Primary RP linkshell: N/A II. RP Style Amount of RP (light, medium, heavy):Medium Roleplay; Typically, I'm not ICly at all times. But an OOC whisper is always welcome, if anyone is interested in some interaction. Walk-ups are also a welcome sight, if I'm ever in Black Shroud since that's where my character is commonly based at. Views on RP combat and injuries: When it comes to RPing in new MMOs, RP combat is something I proceed with caution or usually avoid altogether until I've gotten used to how things run. However, I'm less intimidated by diced battles! If I'm encountered with a spontaneous IC attack, I'll just wing it, be fair, and hope for the best. >.< In addition, I also like a little realism in my combat. Endurance, the capabilities of weapon damage, this and that... Injuries, I know are unavoidable! Regarding back to realism, I also like to believe it takes more than healing magic to fix up the harshest wound. Example being: I don't think a broken leg should be fixed with one quick flash of magic. It also needs time to be set back in place and begin healing over an appropriate amount of time! Views on IC romance: I'm more or less open to romance RPs. If romance is wanted, I'd like a story/development to it, rather than just one day at a tavern. It'll depend on how well our characters get along and whether or not that is wanted on both ends. On an OOC matter, I also prefer having some degree of friendship. Views on non-romantic RP (family ties, etc): Family RP, I restrict to close friends who I have communication with (Skype, Steam, etc) and who I know won't simply leave the game without telling me. Friendly RP on the other hand, I absolutely enjoy and welcome. It's nice to have several good familiar faces to interact with. Views on lore: Ever since migrating away from my first MMO, lore's always been a top priority to me when settling in a new place. I start with the basics, then gradually let myself learn more as I go on and I do my best to stick to lore accuracy! Views on chat functions (/say, /linkshell, etc): /say and /emote are my prime IC chat functions. /linkshell, I usually take as OOC, but if it's all Ic, I'll comply. /tell, I'll accept as IC if someone emotes leaning in to whisper. Away from RP, /tell is OOC! III. Other Info Country:United States Timezone:Central Standard Time Contact info:Forum and In-game work! Enjin, I'll reserve for an RP Free Company that may have a website there.
  5. Good day/evening, fellow RPers! While I'm a few months into FF14, I'm still relatively new to its Roleplaying community, but certainly no stranger to roleplaying in MMOs. So! I just had to look up where the FF14 RPers were based at, and here I am! Admittedly, there haven't been many MMOs I've played since I could only really stick to one at a time (on top of that, I was more of a console gamer!). Regardless! I like to think I've learned a whole lot throughout my RP years, and I've certainly gone through enough trial and errors in the beginning. So I definitely know how to limit my character's skills and capabilities while still making them as interesting as possible. Only thing you'll never catch me doing is RPing in paragraphs unless my character's giving a speech/story/explanation. (Tbh, it's a mild peeve and something I've yet to get, unless it's strictly in a private session!) I certainly like to proceed cautiously when encountering a new world, and make sure I'm at least familiar with the basics of an MMO's lore and limits. Thus far, my character Arlia is a Limsa-born mixed hyur (Highlander father, Midlander mother) who, nowadays, lives as a frontierswoman/woodswoman in Black Shroud. Taking after her father, she's a barbarian by nature and simply strives for excitement and intrigue alongside her trusty chocobo, Piney! She's also well skilled in archery, while alternatively practiced in hand-to-hand combat (pugilist!). I could go on and on about Arli, but I should probably spare any readers my rambling. Lastly, I'd place myself among medium and perhaps heavy roleplaying style! And I'm typically up for some good ol' interaction and potential story involvement at whatever time is appropriate, depending on location. Away from the game, I'm a rather boring person! Quiet, reclusive. Currently taking time away from school, but planning on going back. I guess I can also say I love writing. I enjoy listening and making music (nothing professional, just random jamming on my djembe drum!). I used to draw, but that hobby wore off, unfortunately. Anyhow! Looking forward to my time in this community! Here's an image of Arlia and Piney! Added: https://wiki.ffxiv-roleplayers.com/pages/User:Arlia
