So the battle of Ishgard is getting a cool little trial involving fighting Vishap, as shown here. http://na.finalfantasyxiv.com/pr/special...ard/#patch


As you read in the description, its not only Warriors of Light but Ishgardian Knights.

So I know a character like mine, will be there and actually tickling Vishap's feet. Who else wants to experience that particular battle along side me (Orrin) for part of their character canon?

Is this better put in looking for connections? I'm not sure.

My character Leon actually has some ties to the Knights of Ishgard, as such I can totally see him fighting Vishap alongside your character, so if you will have him, he will gladly join the fray.

Yanno? I could see this working out as a neat piece of writing for Steel's headcanon. She has no ties--and even less love--to Ishgard, but she's willing to lend her strength if it means dragons don't get to snack on innocent citizenry.

To extend the reference, "You have my axe!"

I'm happy to see some replies! I'll get things in motion once the actual patch drops! I just want to see who will show.

*SPOILERS, SKIP ENTIRE POST*





So! Thankfully the lore shows that not only the warrior of light and pals but also Sellswords, especially those in Mor Dhona show up to fight the fight.  So, this really is a chaotic, massive battle.


Not only that but there seems to be an offscreen fight at steel vigil concurrently. 



Given the strenuous nature of the battle. I would really like people who have cleared the fight successfully before to maximize the cool factor of incorporating it into their personal story. 

If people want to do it fresh with our group. I'll be more than glad to instruct, Orrin is a Dragoon and perhaps most likely well versed in emergency combat scenarios as these. So I can explain the strategy in character to maintain immersion.


Whoever is still on board, please tell me, or contact me in game, I'd love to do something this weekend.

Kale can be there as a marauder IC ("Surely axes work best 'gainst ploughin' dragons!") or gladiator IC, really. Or I can go as something else suitably Ul'dahn.

I'm also happy to concede the spot to someone else. There are plenty of areas where the battle is fought other than the Steps of Faith.

I'd be willing to join up as a sellsword (and DPS, since that's my only role). I've gotten a clear before.

Like I said, I can NPC for you if need be.

Flynt knows his way around cannons, if you'd have him join your rag-tag unit.

You already know that Katriane will be there as a healer.

Reaffirming my want to run this with you this weekend. I've run the instance once already, but it was a great deal of fun. Will run again, especially for the purposes of RPs. :3

I'm only just up to this trial, but I've been noodling if Warren would answer the call to arms or not ICly. On one hand, I don't like sticking my characters into the actual game lore. On the other hand, this is quite literally a call to arms for people to go help.

Could be neat.
