Solis opens up a worn journal that Niklas had before his "demise" at Coerthas, but then found again among the junk in his and his friends' room. He dusts it off and gets a quill and some ink, sitting at a desk to begin his first journal entry.

I have to tell the truth, I have never done something like this before: Telling my experiences onto a book of blank pages, otherwise known as a journal. Where to start...?
Well, it has been...um...3 or 4 moons since I left my village in Thanalan to start adventuring. A lot has happened to me since then. To begin with, I found a company to live with, I enlisted in the Immortal Flames like my father had, and I met a couple of interesting friends!
The first among these is Sakura, a "ku-no-ichi" from an island named En-so-kami-ya I think it's called? Anyway she's from the nation of Doma, which currently to my recent knowledge is razed to the ground by those Garlean bastards. She's unique to me, and I'm not kidding. She is normally really amazing and sweet, and she can cute well too, along with being an excellent teacher and sparring partner at her age; She's younger than me by 5 years, yet she's more skilled than me. Honestly though, you don't want to make her mad. The thing that's unique is that she gets darker and colder when in combat, mainly in a dire situation or crucial mission. It's as if she becomes a completely different person, like a split-personality or something like that. Sakura once told me that the ninja's main jobs are for stealth and killing targets, and that's what she exactly does, along with blending in well and getting close to her targets. I'm both amazed and terrified by this, because beneath that sweet Hyur girl is a beautiful yet deadly assassin.
Then there's Rena, a blonde Miqo'te Seeker of the Sun that is, weirdly, as Sakura put it once, a female me. She has my appetite, my habits, my love for fighting and sparring, and we even have the same manner of speech. It's kinda cool, actually, since it's like I have a younger sister, even though she's a Miqo'te and I'm a Hyur! Although there ARE differences between us, other than the obvious difference in race, like how she prefers to use her lance in contrast to my blade, or that she's even more savage than me, even resorting to biting and clawing at her enemies! Scary! And the fact that she's an adopted sister to a Hyur, who is perhaps the most interesting of my new pals!
The most interesting one, is this blue-haired man named Niklas, or Nik for short. I found him, or his soul, in a blue crystal I found in Coerthas together with Sakura. For the past suns before I met him, I had been having strange dreams where I was a different person, and I swore I heard his voice, and not before long I realized he was calling out to me. The last dream I had with him was at an unique cliff at Coerthas, where I saw the blue crystal. Eventually we also managed to recover his body from some really nasty guys seeking to revive their "Lord", but we plan to take them down before they do! Back to Nik, he's a bit annoying at times, but I actually look up to him as an elder brother of sorts. He has so much experience at adventuring with Rena, having done so for the past 10 or so years! And he's actually really kind and I feel sorry for him, trying to cope with our mayhem going on here. One day I will make him proud, and prove myself as both a swordsman and an adventurer, and also become a hero!
Solis takes a deep breath and goes to walk outside the room to relax. On the way, he bumps into Niklas, giving him a nod and a wave as Nik goes into the room and finds the journal on the desk. He smiles and gets some ink and writes some more stuff down.
What an interesting kid Solis is. Albeit immature cocky, proud, and hot-headed, he shows endless drive and potential. By my knowledge, his name means "bright sun", and it does not mislead. He is like the embodiment of our sun in a Hyur body. He draws his pride and energy into a heroic path, and I respect him for that. My memory may be broken, and it's still being pieced together slowly and surely, but I do know this: We both share the same goal: To venture the realm to deliver it's light.
