Quote:Hey everyone,

We were originally aiming to release the Au Ra naming conventions in late May; however, because we are prioritizing the release of Heavensward, we had to push this back a bit. We have definitely not forgotten that everyone is waiting patiently (very patiently) for it!

We'd like to ask for you patience just a little while longer as we work to deliver these to you all!

Quote:Greetings,

Since the limbal ring falls under the same category as the tattoos and accessories for other races, you'll be able to change the settings as well as the color of the rings.
:< Incredibly sad, but... I can wait. I just hope I can do it before release, as I can only imagine the difficulties of getting a name change during launch and stuff exploding.
That... not what we expected. Sigh... This may turn into one of those cases where we have to guess and adjust later. If nothing comes by mid-June, I think it's safe to say we're on our own til post release.
This is something that is somewhat saddening. While I myself will more than likely not be changing my name, I know there are countless people that have been waiting on this. I understand where they are coming from to a point. *sigh* Let's just hope it comes before the 19th.
I'm trying to think of a good reason why that might be the case.

I suppose that makes me ungrateful and even rude to ask- since I will be getting the info eventually. I just wonder how something is already in the lore for a game that's already made isn't being shared with us other than spoilers.

BUT! that's me assuming too much. I really don't know the details and can't expect to understand it because I'm not in the position to.

I think it was said the likely cause was that it was finished on Japanese side but the translation was not done on English. Whether that's true or not I don't know as it seemed to be speculation in the thread linked.
It's probably the French and German translations holding things up, as far as I understand the English is done concurrently, as the North American team also develops lore.

Ah, okay that would make sense then.
As each day passed and still no news of naming conventions, I had a feeling they would be delayed. And while I'm in complete agreement that Heavensward translation takes first priority over practically any other translation, it does make my heart hurt as I (and many others) have been waiting so patiently for so long.

Here's to hoping we get them before launch.

Ah okay yeah, that is fine then. Not that it was ever up to me to begin with- I just really wondered.

It was pretty shortsighted to be bothered at all I guess.

No! It's not shortsighted to be bothered by it. You can totally feel that way. Don't feel bad for feeling concerned over the matter. It's okay.
I did have a salty moment when I found out, I just consider myself fortunate if the worst part of my day is that bit of bad news.
I suspect that this may have something to do with the fact that the race was originally given a very blatant draconic influence. I don't have the artwork at hand but I saw someone post concept art that had the race drawn next to dragons...and yet recently we've been told they're meant to have a demonic twist to them instead.
