The future of Eorzea hangs in the balance. The fates of our cities, our lands, and our people hinge upon the willingness of men and women to take up the cause. The Grand Companies stand prepared to do their part: to hold the line and defeat those who threaten our way of life. Will you do yours? Will you rise to the occasion and do your duty? Will you stand with our proud banners, and against our enemies?
In an united Morale and Recruitment campaign the Grand Companies of Eorzea are publishing a series of patriotic pin-up posters. They are available in both poster form, posted in public spaces across the cities and smaller settlements, and in magazine-sized pamphlets complete with reports on the Grand Companies, and information on either joining or volunteering time and material.
The model chosen as the centerpiece of the campaign is none other than the Quick Sand's own Aya Foxheart. She has traveled far and wide through every region of Eorzea where artists have captured and reproduced images with the most advance imaging magi-technology available to the Grand Companies. These images have been readily made available in print form upon parchment.

Ishgard Poster!
After joining the Eorzean Alliance, it was only proper for Ishgard to be included with its own pin-up. Â Our intrepid model endured the bitter cold, to show her support for her home City! [Behind a spoiler tag because its a little racy!]

This is a joint Screenshot project between QueenFrejyalen and I. Work on it began last September, taking about eight months to complete! There was a great deal of work required leveling appropriate classes, and attaining the necessary GC rank and gear. The shots themselves were undertaken after significant scouting, work on outfits, and the shooting itself proved to be time consuming due to having to deal with quickly changing times of day and weather!
The shoots and several subsequent re-shoots were completed in late January, and since then QueenFrejyalen has been steadily preparing the selected shots for their poster form (including an inspired effort to recreate a parchment-feel for their mounting!)
The project was inspired by the pin-up art of the Second World War, and some of its more modern imitators. It is light-hearted, and rather silly, but still a great deal of thought and effort went into every shot. It was my goal to capture the essence of each City-State and its GC in each of the posters. Outfits and weaponry were chosen both for their visual appeal, and in an effort to make each set immediately recognizable as referring to the city-state and Grand Company for which it was taken. The settings were similarly chose to show the character and variety in each region. The hope is that the effect isn't just "Look its a pretty girl!" but, that its a pretty girl who also reminds the viewer of the Twin Adders, and their home in Gridania and the Shroud!Â
Its been an incredibly fun, if sometimes challenging project, and I hope that the results are enjoyable.
Since this is a screen-shot based project, the limitations of Final Fantasy itself have limited the outfits, poses, visual styles, and so on that we could use, but hopefully we've still been able to create something fun and memorable :-]
I would like to thank everyone who's helped along the way, most especially QueenFrejyalen for all of her effort in every stage of the project, C'kayah for a little funding along the way (I'm not exactly adept at making gil, and at one point the costs of the project had me down to about 50k gil total. Without a little help from C'kayah things would have been a lot harder!), and everyone who helped me out from help picking outfits (Val), to serving as a target so that I could look in right direction on Queenie's screen (Hikaru). Thank you everyone!!!

While the existence of photography in Eorzea seems to be indisputably settled, I certainly understand if people feel that such a campaign could not occur ICly in Eorzea. This is meant to be fun and lighthearted, and I won't feel offended by anyone who feels that way; I know I've taken plenty of liberties! Please don't take it too seriously, and I hope that you're still able to enjoy the posters for what they are.
