There came the dawn of a new sun. Birds sung, announcing its arrival. And within a set of cozy, comfortable walls of oak, a girl bearer of cheerful features slept soundly, neatly tucked under warm sheets while garbed in the most light and loose of nightgowns. Stirring from her sleep thanks to the brilliant rays filtering into her room through the half-shuttered window, her golden hues flutters open, just in time to hear her mother calling out.

"Leanne! Leanne, wake up! Breakfast is almost ready!"

It was today. She was finally going to the north, to the freezing peaks of Coerthas and beyond. And she couldn't help herself but drown into nostalgia. It was all too familiar to her. Her room, the chirping, the bright sky, her mom's call. Once more she was saying goodbye to friends and family so she could further expand her world. What would she see? What would she learn? Will she make new friends? All questions that she asked herself before, settling themselves once more in her conscious.

Chuckling, Leanne closed her eyes, a soft sigh slipping between her lips. "It's like starting all over again..."

"Leanne! Leanne Delphium!"

She jumps out of bed, ready to start her day. Yank nightgown out of body and going bare, jump into bath, remember about the towel she forgot, get towel then go straight back to bath, dry herself, put on clothes, slip into boots, and finally don her hat. All done within a couple of minutes, if not because of her excitement or usual energy, surely because she didn't want to cross her mom in any circumstances.

"Leanne 'Fancy Hat' Del-"

Leanne clumsily rushes out of her room into the kitchen while holding to her precious hat. "I'm out, I'm out! Good morning!"

"Good morning." answered her parents. "About time...!" C'thara added, pointing a menacing shiny spatula at the late girl.

Leanne stops at the sight of the accusatory utensil, flinching on the spot. "M-Mom.." she whimpers, ears lying flat.

Shaking her head, Thara held a disapproving frown. "Not hearing it. Okay!" the matriarch looks to all of her loved ones, a sweet smile warming up the air that surrounded her being. "Who wants some La Noscean Toast?"

The Delphium household, a humble and little family settled very deep into the streets of Old Gridania found themselves in the middle of a very lively morning. Once more Leanne's drive for adventure would take their loved daughter away, leading her to faraway lands beyond the reach of any relatives. And like last time they would celebrate the day. For her adventure was to start anew, between the walls of her parents’ house.

"Leanne, I left a gift for you in your bag." says C'Kahn, busily dissecting the toast for easier consumption.

Leanne's ears are lifted as her eyes locks on her father. "A gift? What is it?"

He was quick to shake his head. "It's a surprise, you will know when you open It." he answers while holding a cheeky grin.

"I saw the present. You will love it sweetie." C'thara chuckles. "Ah, need anything?"

"No, I packed everything already! First rule of adventure, be prepared, and minimize risks!"

"Dear, you repeated that one too many times already. I and your dad already know, but thanks for reminding us." C'thara comments with a sarcastic expression, laughing alongside her husband.

"S-Shush...anyhow, I'm finished." a pouty Leanne lifts from the chair, bringing her hands up to adjust her hat. So trained was she in putting her precious head wear correctly, such ritual was utterly unnecessary, yet there was not a moment she wouldn't check if it wasn't neatly in place. Before being able to reach for her bow and backpack placed nearby the door, the adventurous girl was then approached by her brother, his expression full of excitement.

"Leanne, Leanne! Will you bring me a souvenir?"

Grinning, the girl promptly nods to her younger sibling. "Yup I will! Gonna find the coolest thing to give you! Perhaps a one of a kind Ishgardian Spear, hum? Though! You will be showing it to Mr. Ywain and then will ask his permission to use it, okay?"

His gleaming eyes were just a measly hint for the energy that were to burst forth. "YES!! Yes yes, yes!" With an enthusiasm matching Leanne's, he jumps as high as a young seeker could muster, completely ecstatic.

C'thara giggles, overhearing the conversation of her children from the kitchen. "Azeyma save me, too much energy for the likes of me..." looking over her shoulder to the table, she notices Elliot's plate was still full. The sight of the unfinished dish was enough for her to raise her voice. "Elliot, come back here and finish your breakfast!"

His muscles lock in place as the boy shrinks on the spot, cowering at his mom's disgruntled voice. "A-Ah! O-Okay...!" he looks back to Leanne, brows furrowed. "It's a promise, you hear!"

The snickering sister nods in return, a big smile shown. "Yes, it is. Now go eat the toast before you get more problems, go!" she produces a smirk, one not noticed by Elliot as he runs back to the kitchen. Shaking her head, Leanne turns back to her backpack and bow, dropping to a knee so to check nothing was missing. A warm expression takes over her, mind lingering in the memories of the time spent together with her precious family. Ah, how much she wanted to stay by them, by her friends...yet she couldn't, for her wish to explore the world was bigger. The blessing and curse of a traveler.

Eventually a brow is lifted as she takes notice of a book that wasn't there at first, taking place of her precious journal-turned-encyclopedia. "D-Did I take the wrong book? Gosh, I'd be horrified if I didn't bring my journal..." bringing the book before her golden eyes, the girl carefully inspects its cover. Composed of a high quality hippogryph leather, it had beautiful gold engravings, the most noticeably one being the silhouette of a hat identical to hers. It was written in cursive, elegant letters...

"Sorry dear." C'kahn said, now by the door to the kitchen, drawing Leanne's attention. "But I saw your old and battered journal and in my opinion, it was unacceptable of me to simply leave it in that state. So, I took it for a while and left in the care of a friend at the Leather-working Guild."

Leanne was flabbergasted at was once her humble, worn-off journal, now encased within the fine trappings of an elegant cover. Out of assurance she opens the book and flips through the pages, scanning each and every single of her entries with the scrutiny her trained eyes could muster. It took but a moment before certainty struck her; it was surely her journal with every single word, grammar mistakes and scratched words in place, to Leanne, details as important as the rest of book. For in those mistakes are stashed pieces of her precious memories.

Joined by a smiling Thara, Kahn slipped an arm around his wife's waist, a warm smile being shown to Leanne. "Happy birthday, daughter. And...Safe travels. Not only Oschon, but the entire Twelve will be watching you."

Nodding, C'thara continued, ushering Leanne forward. "Do not worry about any little pets or belongings you're leaving here. We will be taking good care of them. Now go. The road you so much love is waiting."

Bordering on the point of shedding tears, she instead held her poise and resolve. Shoving the book back into the bag, she stands up, taking hold of her belongings while holding a deep breath, a glance cast over her shoulder to the loving parents that gave her everything. She gives them the bravest smile one could show; the same one she had shown when she first departed. "Mom, dad...I'm going. See you some sun, sometime, in the future. Do not wait for me!" she laughs before turning the knob. Pushing the door, a blinding light is presented to the adventurous seeker. Fearlessly, she strides forward, out for a new adventure, out to see the world she so much loved, out to see new people and places! For her dream is to travel through the entirety of Hydaelyn. And she was just beginning.

Within a span of couple hours, Leanne was already venturing deep into Coerthas. The blinding blizzard, cold cutting wind and harsh temperatures gladly gave their harsh, daring welcome, inviting Leanne to challenge the hinterlands. Scoffing at such conditions, she kept walking forward just as she promised her family and friends, stalwart step followed by another. With a harp in her hand and voice fighting against the cruelty of the snowstorm, she began her song, golden passionate eyes set to one single direction: Forward.
