So, after the Vault fight and leading up to the Bismarck, how are Ishgardian RPers handling all the stuff that's happening? It's kinda leading right now that Ishgard is falling apart at the seams.  I had worked through some plots before Heavensward where I had my anti-Ishgard character adopted into his uncle's family for reasons and now is living in the city.  But like...with the city kinda falling apart even more and the Archbishop being a crazy psycho...I donno what to do RP-wise...not that his adoption made him any less anti-Ishgard....
Anyone else having problems with their RP/characters with the new lore?
NO SPOILERS POST BISMARCK FIGHT.
I would continue the MSQ to completion before making too many judgment calls. You never know what other things that might come up that you'll have to deal with - or other things that might mollify concerns. Thumbsup
Yeah.  I'm just like .....do I kill my character and start over because now it's like everything kinda falling apart??? .____.
I kinda want Aymeric to end up running the city...
I'd be okay with my character living in a city run by him haha /cries
Still mad about the vault....
I would tell you what to worry about and what not to, but it's all post-Bismarck spoilers, which you don't want. But yeah, my best suggestion is to get the full story so you have all the details before making any sort of major RP decision. Especially if you're considering killing the character off based on incomplete information.

Everyone else is busy pushing through the content too, I think, so there's no rush to have your RP situation all sorted right away. Enjoy the rest of the MSQ, take in all the information given by it, and then make your RP decisions. It'll help out more than making decisions now and then possibly having to rethink everything over again if you find something in the story that completely changes your mental paradigm again.
It all fits my RP perfectly
  • Frog people - yes
  • Witch - yes
  • With's home - yes
  • Ancient Library - yes
  • Dragons - yes
  • Primal/gods are a manifestation of Aether shaped by thought/belief - yes
  • [edit] Goblins - check
  • [edit] Ishgard - i don't really care
The only thing is Nebula the little girl from the shroud and witch in training, will have to get a bit more epic to suit, I feel.

Oh right, there was a question in there for us to answer too, wasn't there? Laugh

Oddly enough, the new lore added a bunch of stuff for clarifying the background of one of my characters - Judge Jredthys. I had ideas and a basic flow of concept to work with, but the stuff that got explained in the MSQ regarding the Dragonsong War (which is rather plot-important to him) helped me refine it and make some other changes. Even a few tidbits said here and there in passing during the plot gave me some ideas that ultimately ended up in what I'd like to think is a rather encompassing history. Quite the huge improvement over what I had before, while still sticking rather firmly to the main points I wanted to hit.
Taking it very slowly so I get to roleplay things over the coming months, and not all in one go! So Bismarck is still going to take a while before Virella catches wind of such.

I am more concerned about

I have only glimpsed some spoiler stuff and am woefully behind currently in the MSQ compared to most of you speed racers, but I feel like Martiallais is in an okay place, maybe?

I'm personally so over the moon at confirmation that Dzemael is a Duskwight house that I think I can take the rest in stride. Cool

I'll let you know in a week or two if that changes though LOL.

Hey, can you tell me where it was confirmed that Dzemael is a Duskwight House? I must've missed that.

I was on the lookout too.

Hey, can you tell me where it was confirmed that Dzemael is a Duskwight House? I must've missed that.

Was it in the flashback where they showed the 4 remaining house leaders?
Dzamael looked quite white skinned in the flashback however...
I think it's unlikely any Ishgardian houses are Duskwight, because are the lore shows, it happened long long ago, with a specific group of people.

Realistically Ishgardians aren't wildwoods either, they're something else.
Pretty sure it said they left the shroud....
meaning that their ancestors are one of the two types...prolly wildwood
I find it highly unlikely that there are any Duskwight. Hear me out why;

Duskwight gone to hide in their caves. Ishgardians never gone cavedwelling but instead were happy enough to stay on their mountains in their cities; they stayed Wildwood all along, and never ever turned Duskwight - they never had the reason to.

Just because we see a few darkskinned Wildwood does not mean they are Duskwight! They are not grey skinned after all Smile

(I vouch we call em dragonborn instead of wildwood hue hue; okay I may or may not have been making lots of silly jokes the past few days about Ishgardians to my friens : ( )
Last I heard from Fernwahles (sp?) that there were Duskwight in Ishgard. And while it might not be the great house I guess, there is guy in the trial by combat was who was both said and shown to be a part of the Dzemael house including that being his last name. He's certainly the darkest Ishgardian npc we've seen by far...that with the other things does make it seem that way. Skin tone aside he also has bright eyes both of which are Duskwight-y things typically. And then there's Dzemael Darkhold as well as a few side quests that also point towards Dzemael being either Duskwight or intermarrying among them, which, for what it's worth, either are more than enough to work for my personal purposes but that's neither here nor there.

That and gray isn't the only skin tone open to Duskwights. There's actually a limit to how dark you can make a Wildwood. I know because I tried it, but I didn't mean to derail the whole thread. If need be it can be a discussion everywhere but generally speaking prior to closing the gates, I was under the assumption that as long as you a) killed dragons and b) loved Halone, you were pretty okay in Ishgard.

EDIT: Added to this as now I'm not typing it before running to work!
