So I recently returned with the release of Heavensward and I'm kind of stuck deciding to keep what I had going or to make an Au Ra for my return to Eorzea. Hopefully this is okay to post and it's in the right area? I know it's ultimately my call, but any input would be fun to read! Thanks! Big Grin I'm a THM right now but pretty sure I am headed the Scholar and Summoner route.

Here I am now:

Here are the two men I'm pondering about:

I know I'm not exactly helping, but kudos for making the saddest faces I have ever seen XD

(I like the Elezen best personally)
The elezen made me go "Awwww!" out loud! He looks so sad! ;;

I like the Xaela guy the best, personally.
An Au Ra male that isn't all dark and brooding? Kudos! Big Grin ( I like the middle one best)

Thanks! xD

My thoughts with the Elezen is that he's a very solitary and empathetic individual. He feels everything, all the pains and aches and joys and hopes and losses of the world so distinctly, and it's led him to spend his life alone and traveling the world. He suffers a sort of... sorrowful joy. He finds meditative peace when he's on boats, and his favorite city to spend a few days in is Limsa Lominsa and his prayers go to Llymlaen.

I am not to familiar with any Au Ra lore, but when making the Au Ras, especially the Xaela, I see him as a sort of traveling outcast, someone who is alone and very focused on himself. Perhaps to a selfish extent, but ultimately he knows that to be his best self to care for others he must put himself first. Oschon is close to his heart and he finds tranquility in the mountains. (Though I think technically that's more of a Raen trait?)

Nope, Raen are more like the five races than the Xaela. Xaela are tribal while Raen are civilised (IE living in towns vs nomadic tribes that may or may not be warring amongst eachother).

With that said, the 51 primary Xaela tribes are nomadic. Doesn't mean there aren't tribes that hunker down in the mountains though.

There are a couple of Xaela tribes that do, yes and some have casted away their more savagery so to say. Smile
I actually like the Elezen the most. I don't know if it's the lighting, but in the screenshot he looks like a frost elf. It's a very thematic look.

But of the Au Ra, I like the bottom one more. It looks like he has snow freckles on his cheek and I like his hair a lot more.
I honestly really like the Elzen, you don't see many of them that look that cool. Plus there are sooooooooooooo many Au Ra atm.
Don't do it, bro! There's more than enough Au Ra, but almost no perpetually-sad Elezen.
I like them all, but that expression on the Elezen. He looks so dour, I love him.
So I have also ended up making an absolutely adorable Lalafell... haha. <3

He looks like he's made of candy.
He looks great!! Thumbsup

I really like the colors with the combination of face markings!
