Has there been any official information that states when exactly the Hotgo tribe were wiped out by the Dotharl? I'd like to make a member of the Hotgo tribe, but I'm just not sure if recently means months or years.
Unfortunately, as far as I can tell, the only information we have on the Xaela tribes are those short snippets of lore that were provided. We know that the Hotgo were wiped out by the Dotharl, but no information on exactly when or why (though the latter could be assumed to be just because the Dotharl is an aggressive, violent tribe).

My best recommendation, if you're making at Hotgo, is to keep it nebulous. Don't pin down an exact time, and just say that your tribe what overrun by the Dotharl in the past. If pressed, you could even play the card of "it was so violent, I blocked out the details."

The other option is to set a time, but be willing to retcon a bit if any lore comes out that sets a more definite time period. Or maybe your character was part of a smaller group that was attacked sooner/later than the main tribe to better fit your headcanon point of time compared to the Official Lore time or the time set by another Hotgo's headcanon. Though, I figure the latter would be a more likely circumstance than the former (even if I'm hoping more lore comes out in upcoming patches to delve more into the Au Ra in general - not just tribes, but their whole Dawn Mother/Dusk Father thing and why they look the way they do).
"A tribe recently massacred by the Dotharl. The only members surviving are those who left the tribe to travel on their own and were not present during the killing.''

Thanks a ton for the input guys. C:
I had the intent of having him branch off from his tribe to pursue his own studies years ahead of the time of the fall of his tribe, I just wanted to make sure that I didn't go and misinterpret their meaning of recent.
