Noble House Name: House D'Monchette
Pledging/Related/Serving to High House: Vassal to House Dzemael
Description: House D'Monchette was known for scientific and alchemical advances. Mostly in terms of medicine. They fell from grace when Lord Louis D'Monchette turned Heretic and took half of their forces with him to the Shroud. His older brother, who had passed the inheritance to Louis in the first place, was forced to take command of the House. He was a poor ruler, and the house stagnated.

When Louis D'Monchette returned and killed his brother, his nephew took the title. Calleaux D'Monchette was more eager to rebuild his house, adopting the new practices of the Machinists into his ranks and training a small number of them. The House itself had a small number of Knights to command, and has been working to recruit more as well as the help of outside mercenaries. Once again they began trying to excel in the field of science and alchemy, creating things from simple potions to specialized ammunition for the Machinists' guns.

Recently, they recruited the help of a Temple Knight to help them bolster forces and try to gain prestige again. They know their place as low Nobles, but they do not wish to be looked at as potential heretics any longer.

Included Races: Elezen (Both kinds) and Hyuran servants and Knights.
Members:
Calleaux D'Monchette (NPC Head of household)
Draco Nobis (PC - Arbiter)
Louis D'Monchette (NPC - Deceased Heretic)
Ser Darmont (NPC - Deceased House Knight)
Ser Geoffrey (NPC - House Knight Commander)
Footnotes:

House D'Monchette has fallen from standing slightly, becausefof the actions of Louis D'Monchette. They are a weaker house now, but attempt to gain back allies and power.

Noble House Name: House Dufresne

Pledging/Related/Serving to High House: House Durendaire

Description: A lesser house known for being "new money". The Dufresnes are working wealthy not unlike those found in pre-Revolution France; the Baron Emmereaux and his wife, the Baroness Olivie, are both common-born but, through years of hard work and no shortage of clever maneuvering, were able to buy their noble titles. As to be expected, they are not yet taken very seriously among the longer-established houses, and are still trying to find their footing where respect, prestige, and power are concerned. If nothing else, however, this affords them a great deal of potential mobility, and it has honed the members of the house into adept players of political games.

The house is most famous for running the Dufresne Bellworks, a foundry that specializes in casting from large molds. Anything from church bells to dragonkillers to -- more recently -- airship parts is their primary specialty, and as such they work closely with the Skysteel Manufactory. Because industrializing Ishgard is the house's primary concern, the vast majority of land they own is for mining rather than agriculture.

Because House Dufresne is still new, their forces are quite meager, and for now they are only able to commit a small force of knights to House Durendaire. Most are stationed in the Western Highlands, while the remainder patrols the Central Highlands. More recently they've begun training machinists and siege engineers to help man the walls at home, a project that allows commoners in their employ to fight for Ishgard -- if they are so willing.

Included Races: The Dufresne family itself is Wildwood Elezen, however their servants, guards, workers, and knights are Elezen and Hyur of all varieties.

Members:
Baron Emmereaux Dufresne (NPC Head of household)
Baroness Olivie Dufresne (NPC Lady of the House)
Lady Eliane Dufresne (PC Heiress)
Lord Juleaux Dufresne (PC Heir - Retired from game)
Ser Martiallais Heuloix (PC Retainer)
Ser Aramis Dumas (PC Knight)
Arcian Martell (PC Bodyguard)
Gwenneth Gilrouis (PC Ward)
Cordellain Montesseur (NPC Servant/Messenger)

Footnotes: (Optional)
Dufresne is pronounced "Du-frain" -- no, really!

The Dufresnes are definitely an odd house known for their eccentricity, gregariousness, generosity, and hard work. They are happy to get involved with anyone and everyone, whether high or lowborn. Whether you need some fellow blue-bloods to rub elbows (or battle with) or you need employment for your character as a reason for them being in Ishgard, we'd love to play with you! Contact Eliane here, in game, or on Tumblr (@tea-and-conspiracy) and let's plot!
House Farendaire (and myself Tongue) has moved to Balmung, so I will be modifying the profile accordingly.

Noble House Name: House Recettear
Pledging/Related/Serving to High House: House Haillenarte
Description:

Originating from a bastard son of House Haillenarte that was never legitimized, Goultard Recettear took the last name of his lowborn mother several hundred years ago. Fighting in the Dragonsong War and taking the moniker of "The Rose Dragoon" with pride despite the implied insult towards his bastard heritage of House Haillenarte, Goultard proved himself in slaying a great wyrm by the name of Kvasir. Raised into nobility on the behest of his father, House Recettear has the unique inheritance law that the son or daughter that takes the mantle of Rose Dragoon shall be first to inherit, and should they die in battle, then the eldest child remaining shall inherit instead, with primogeniture favoring men. Due to the dangerous nature of serving as a dragoon, this has often lead to second born sons or daughters inheriting the household.

Included Races: Wildwood Elezen, servants are wildwoods and hyur

Members:

Lord Tristepin: Inheriting due to the death of his older brother as the Rose Dragoon, Lord Tristepin is a kindly if paranoid older gentleman that is well regarded for his stewardship of the family wealth, greatly expanding their coffers since his inheritance as Patriarch of the House. Lord Tristepin had become far more paranoid and concerned of late after the passing of his wife. (NPC)

Lady Auvette: Passing away during childbirth of their youngest son Percedal, Auvette was a strict but kind mother that was well regarded for her talent in music and playing a wide arrange of various instruments. She was born from another vassal house of House Haillenarte. (NPC)

Lady Evangelyne: The eldest daughter and child, Evangelyne in her early years began a martial education despite her father's insistence to allow her younger brother to take the title instead. (PC)

Lady Amaldine: The middle child, Amaldine is but sixteen and finishing her education in proper stewardship. (NPC)

Lord Percedal: The youngest child and second in line should Evangelyne die in service, Percedal is but a young child at the age of five. Due to his surprise birth and Evangelyne's inheritance now in question, the teenage Evangelyne took up the training of a dragoon in order to keep her inheritance without question. Percedel is a kind-hearted and sweet if not sickly boy. (NPC)

Footnotes: Feel free to contact me if in-game on Saga Bearclaw or Evangelyne Recettear if you want to involve your house's history with mine.

Noble House Name: Janvier
Pledging/Related/Serving to High House: Haillenarte

A relatively small House with a long history of serving House Haillenarte, House Janvier has a martial history and has always managed to provide warriors to aid in the fight against the Dravanian Horde. The current Lord's eldest son fell, however, in the battle when House Haillenarte lost the Stone Vigil to the Dravanians, leaving him with no male heir.

The family now consists of him, his wife and their youngest child Adrastiae. It seemed as if their best prospects involved marrying her off well. But rumours have surfaced that the girl has disappeared.

Included Races: Wildwood Elezen

Members:

Lord Edgardaux Janvier - NPC, Current Head of House
Lady Astrione Janvier - NPC, Edgardaux's Wife
Etiennant Janvier - NPC, Eldest Child (deceased)
Adrastiae Janvier - PC, Youngest Child

Footnotes: If anyone is interested in being related to the House or associated with it then please let me know. I'd love to have new people (and not just Elezen, I can change that for an interesting story and/or associates don't need to be Elezen).

Noble House Name: Delarouerie
Pledging/Related/Serving to High House: Durendaire
Description: An affluent house that commands both fear and respect, House Delarouerie is known as a centuries old family mired in tradition. As one of the oldest houses to provide Ishgard with self sacrificing heirs of dragoons to the point of dwindling numbers, the war mongering family’s most recent patriarch declined the precedent to openly focus on political maneuverings, resource monopolization, allies in the most interesting of places, and lifting the house to new heights.

At the forefront of a new doctrine, the house today concentrates its endeavors heavily in politics and trade with a vested interest in its dominance on mining and ores.

Included Races: Wildwood Elezen, Hyur, Servants Wildwood Elezen and Hyur
Members:
Lord Geoffroy Delarouerie (NPC, Patriarch)
Lady Vivene Delarouerie (NPC, Wife of Geoffroy)
Lord Benoit Delarouerie (NPC, Brother)
Lord Laurent Delarouerie (PC, Brother)
Lady Synerva Delarouerie (PC, Daughter)
Lady Murielle Delarouerie (NPC, Aunt)

Footnotes: House Delarouerie is known for their unwavering loyalty to Ishgard as well as their war mongering legacy and recent cunning in backhanded deals behind closed doors. This can be used as general knowledge, especially of a political nature in and around Ishgard.

This house also has direct familial ties to House Durendaire and thus their knights, mercenaries, retainers, and servants may be shared between houses. If you see yourself fitting in anywhere or want to concoct something feel free to contact me.
Server: Balmung
Noble House Name: Allemand
Pledging/Related/Serving to High House: Haillenarte
Description: Despite their wealth House Allemand is a fairly minor noble family in the political scene. They were raised up to nobility by House Haillenarte several generations ago when Hardouin Allemand slew a dragon that was intent on making one of the sons of the Baron of the time its next meal. Since then House Allemand has always had close dealings with the Roses, paying allegiance to them whenever a dispute among the great houses would break out. Since then every generation has given birth to dragoons and knights who never wavered to do their part in the protection of Ishgard. These days with the changes taking place within the Holy See the Heir to the family moves to take his place and lead it through these uncertain times. Unlike most who seem to scramble to grab what power they can within the walls of Ishgard, House Allemand's newest Lord has set his eyes to the whole of Eorzea itself seeking to renew ties with those that had been spurned years ago by the city.

Included Races: Midlander Hyur
Members:
Lord Trygil Allemand (NPC, Former Head of the House)
Lady Emilie Allemand (NPC, Trygil's wife)
Lord Reinhold Allemand (PC, Head of the House)

Footnotes: House Allemand's current lord is well known for his chivalry and his views on the government of the Holy See. Always having disdained at the corruption of most nobles and their uncaring attitude towards the general populous has always left him at odds with those that he should normally be interacting with. It is also common knowledge that shortly before Lord Trygil stepped aside for his son Reinhold to take over that Reinhold himself resigned from the Order of the Dragoon after fourteen years of service to the Order.

I am always open to making contacts with other Ishgardian RPers, whether it is a political contact between houses, or even interaction with those who make up the majority of the Ishgardian population. If you wish to interact with Reinhold or his house just drop a line here or in game.

Noble House Name: Chevalier
Pledging/Related/Serving to High House: Haillenarte
Description:

A house with humble beginnings, Cyrille Chevalier served House Haillenarte. So loyal was he in his duties that he was given land and the title of lord for his undying service. He swore that his house and all that should bear the Chevalier name would serve to defend Ishgard to never forget their humble beginnings. True to his word he was; this noble family now in its seventh generation have all served Ishgard as Dragoons or as Knights. While Haillenarte has stumbled and fallen over the many years passed, Chevalier has stood ever vigilant at their side.

Included Races: Wildwood Elezen, Servants Wildwood Elezen and Hyur
Members:

Lord Felix Chevalier (NPC, Patriarch, former Dragoon)
Lady Celestine Chevalier (NPC, Wife of Felix)
Lady Glace Chevalier (PC, Daughter, Sapphire Dragoon, one half of the Twin Pikes of Ishgard)
Lady Cendre Chevalier (PC, Daughter, Crimson Dragoon, one half of the Twin Pikes of Ishgard)
Lord Lucien Chevalier (NPC, Son, Dragoon)
Lord Alazan Chevalier (NPC, Uncle, Dragoon)
Lady Iris Chevalier (NPC, Aunt, Temple Knight)

Footnotes:

House Chevalier is known for their unwavering loyalty to Ishgard serving for what is now their seventh generation of Knights and Dragoons.

This house serves as a long lineage of Dragoons and Knights that fought bravely and hard for Ishgard. If you are looking to make a connection to the Chevalier house or would like to integrate them into a story or plot feel free to message me.

Noble House Name: Rosenthal

Pledging/Related/Serving to High House: Fortemps

Description: A relatively small, but wealthy, house that prizes duty and accomplishment, the Rosenthal household has produced proud knights, healers, ladies-in-waiting, and a handful of dragoons. They hold the Twelve, and especially Ishgard's patron deity Halone, in high regard, with several past members devoting themselves fully to them. They reside in a decently sized estate within the city, and keep their ties strongly in Ishgard, with daughters marrying into houses of similar rank and importance.

Included Races: Midlander Hyur

  • Alexi (Alexandre) Rosenthal (NPC, familial heir): Aged 18; Knight's Squire

Footnotes: Mae currently works with a small, PC made charity group called The Sisters of Halone's Grace. This group, made up almost solely of societal ladies, does work for the poor such as providing medical care, food, or temporary shelter. Though based prominently in Ishgard some members, like Mae, travel throughout Eorzea to small villages to distribute this aid.
Le Gasp, I should have posted to this a long time ago.

Noble House Name: Algiernis

Pledging to High House: Fortemps

Description: A small house, the Algiernis family is predominantly headed by Duskwight Elezen, though they have retainers of Hyur and Wildwood as well. Fiercely loyal to the church, many members have been inquisitors or temple knights in the past. Though exceptionally rare, the family has adopted Hyur into the family proper who have demonstrated exceptional service to the House... Or whose parents have done so.

Included Races: Duskwight Elezen, Some Hyur

Members: Renaea Algiernis (PC, Free Paladin, renounced inheritance rights, Hyur) Artesia Algiernis (NPC (mostly), Former Inquisitor, Current Heir, missing)

Footnotes: People are more then free to speak to me about gaining membership to this house... Or even taking control of Artesia, perhaps, if they so wish. Either send me a tell in-game on Renaea, or a message here on the forums.

Noble House Name: Ruvalis

Pledged to High House: Dzemael

Description: A small and relatively young noble house, Ruvalis was born over 200 years ago when the founding patriarch of the house- a battlefield commander at the time- succeeded in driving back a Dravanian raid against what seemed like impossible odds through impressive use of strategy. He was given a place within the nobility, pledged to House Dzemael. Since its inception, House Ruvalis has been a strong and outspoken supporter of House Dzemael to such a degree that lately, rumors have started to pop up that the house has been puppeted. It doesn’t help that there are more rumors: that the heir to the house was quietly exiled, and there was an arranged marriage between Ruvalis and House Chanteuse- hinting at a consolidation of power.

Included Races: Wildwood Elezen, Duskwight Elezen, Hyur

Members:
Corinth Ruvalis (NPC, founding patriarch, deceased)
Vathinaux Ruvalis (NPC, current lord, alive)
Yulen Ruvalis (NPC, current lady, alive)
Zalina Chanteuse (daughter, arranged marriage, widow, alive)
Zavineau Ruvalis (son, heir, rumored exile, widower, alive)
Sharadoe Eleneth (servant to Zavineau, alive)

Footnotes: Players are very welcome to inquire about joining House Ruvalis as knights, retainers, and even servants! Ruvalis is also very willing to work alongside other player houses for the sake of authoring storylines. Either message me here on the forums, or contact me in-game on Zavineau Ruvalis.

Noble House Name: Genhu

Pledging/Related/Serving to High House: Durendaire

Description: An extremely small and young household. For display of virtue, loyalty and strength, Maariya Genhu was rewarded for her services to Ishgard with knighthood. While predominantly only a position of honour, she serves House Durendaire as one of their Knight-Bannerets.

Included Races: Miqo'te

Members:
  • (PC) Ser Maariya Genhu - Knight-Banneret, Head of the House
  • (NPC) Lireh Genhu - Retainer

Footnotes: (Optional)
(Maariya Genhu was originally my proud Sultansworn of Ul'dah. After a long time of roleplay, many adventures and stories her plot drove her north and eventually found herself in Ishgard's service. I am always up for making new connections!)
Great thread. Hoping to be able to collaborate with other Ishgardian players again soon.

Noble House Name: Navarre
Pledging/Related/Serving to High House: Fortemps
Description: The great-grandfather of the current Lord of this lesser house was awarded knighthood for admirable service in numerous skirmishes with the Dravanians. Before receiving status of nobility, the family was renowned as breeders of rather exceptional chocobos, a tradition that has made the house quite wealthy as it continued into the present day.
Included Races: Wildwood Elezen.
Members:
Ser Percevains Navarre - The newly-invested lord of House Navarre. Previously disgraced on charges of heresy after the discovery of a draconian rosary among his belongings, he and a band of retainers fled to the tundra, eventually forming a small resistance against his step-father, Chatelaine. Though Chatelaine was slain under mysterious circumstances, Percevains' name was cleared both by the revelation that Chatelaine, not Percevains, was the owner of the pendant that and by Yvelont's confession to his murder. Despite this, there remains much uncertainty among the other vassals surrounding Percevains' tumultuous succession to head of the Navarre household. This puts the young lord in a precarious position regarding his brother, as any attempt to push for his pardon might arouse suspicion of collusion.

Yvelont Navarre - Former knight-errant of House Fortemps, previously believed to be deceased. However, his death was staged as part of a plan to assassinate his step-father, Chatelaine, which ultimately succeeded. His confession cleared the names of Percevains and Lady Arillaine, whereupon he turned himself in for his crime. Denying any involvement on his brother's part, he was taken into custody and currently awaits trial.

Lady Arillaine Navarre - Mother of Percevains and Yvelont, framed by the latter for the murder of her late husband, Chatelaine. Though Yvelont's confession has cleared her own name in the eyes of the law, she remains conflicted by her son's choice to turn himself in.
