Your character is sitting in a public place, when suddenly someone attempts to assassinate them. An arrow flies towards them from an unseen shadowy figure! The culprit manages to escape in the panic, gone without a trace.

What does your character do? Reflect on their potential enemies? Begin scouring the earth for the person behind it? Regret having stolen that apple one time as a child? What goes through your head in the fallout?
"Oh, no, not again."
Scream and run, clearly.
Assume it's the void, shrug that they didn't try hard enough and attempt to return to tea sipping.

In her head though, she's probably going through all the potential people after her.
Take cover, draw her gun, and get a clear picture of her surroundings would be her first instinct. In the long-term she would lay low for awhile, lock down her workshop, and place some homemade lethal traps out front.
Tries to find out where arrow was shot from. Then he would make sure that people around would be safe. Yes, he might have 'hero complex' but he is Serpent and his job is to protect innocent!
Aaron would probably wonder why anyone would want to kill him, and then criticize the assassins aim in a one off remark before quietly getting up and changing locations.
Finish his mead and meat, figuring they'll meet again then the assassin will be meat.
Jullienaux raised his head just in time to catch a brief glimpse of the fleeing assassin. Amidst screams of surprise and horror, a young lass fell limp unto the hardwood floors of the establishment at the sight of blood-stained chainmail. The Elezen groaned and reached for the base of the arrow that had pierced chain and flesh and colored his gallant armor crimson. He tried to calm himself, to ease the rising and falling of his chest as panicked onlookers approached, brave samaritans ready to lend their aid to the wounded knight.

He raised a hand warning them to keep their distance, but even that effort made his eyes glaze and the world shake. The knight collapsed in a clang of metal.

A week later, after the poison had run its course, from the comfort of his bed the knight would seek answers. "Why?" He shook his head, knowing he had made many enemies over his lifetime in the name of justice. "I am... I am a righteous man," he said faintly before repeating it louder, as if the strain on his voice somehow improved the statement's veracity. "I am a righteous man." He found that it became more difficult to accept that lie with each passing sun.
Call her bodyguards and begin an investigation on the possible culprit. It wouldn't be the first time someone tried to shoot an arrow at her, let alone the first time someone tried to kill her. She'll probably grow really paranoid, as she knows people out there have good reasons for wanting to kill her.
Mutter "just another bloody day in the Shroud", cast some arcanima to fix up any wounds if it hit him, and continue on his his day. It was only one arrow! That's getting off easy. Don't make scary Garlean monster person angry. It'll cost you more arrows.
"By the Twelve, it wasn't that bad of a joke!"
Probably hurling magic at the direction she thought the arrow was coming from. Cursing something heretic this, unbeliever that.
This is would probably spark an existential crisis for Aya.  The sort she has faced several times over the course of her life, usually opting for the option to flee (heart of a fox, makes sense right?)

The last time something like this happened it was really pretty mild, and she wound up fleeing for safety for a few days and needing to really reconcile and steady herself upon the path of just staying put.  It was a rather major moment of character development.  I don't know that she'd be so brave in the face of real assassins.
"Sommat get this out of my back."

"Then help me -kill them-."
