As I was playing the game tonight and listening to Pandora a song came on and the lyrics seemed to hit home for my character and where he is at in his roleplay. That got me wondering if anyone else had song lyrics that match up with their character's current mood/story/etc.

Here is mine to start:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-q9q6zl3WIs

"Would you be the savior of the broken,
The beaten and the damned?"
He said "Will you defeat them,
Your demons, and all the non-believers,
The plans that they have made?"

"I'm just a man, I'm not a hero"

-"Welcome To The Black Parade" My Chemical Romance
A fun thread concept!

Sigurd has a lot of different facets of his personality but the following encapsulates much of his current state of mind:

"Out of the dark, into the light,
In the dawn of terrestrial birth.
New-born yet older than time,
Conceived in the depths of the earth.

Though strange lay the waters from which they emerged,
They glanced upon the world as their own.
Yet deep in their hearts they knew all the time
That this was not really their home.

So they rode on.
Yes, they rode on.

On hidden roads, through barren wastelands,
Untrodden by both man and beast.
From the distance their fire was gleaming
Like a lamp amidst dark eternity.

A bitter moon hovered above them.
The night lit sole by its glow.
From high in a sky of ominous dye
In which dark clouds drifted slow.

So they rode on.
Yes, they rode on.

They rode with shut eyes as the sun rose.
Regardless of earth's vanity.
But with wide open eyes, they paced the night
And pondered its mysteries.

They sat at the crossroads with high and with low,
Yet neither could alter their course.
Riches were offered unto them,
Yet indifferent and without remorse

They rode on.
Yes, they rode on.

And each lonely vagrant that crossed their path,
Felt how his heart grew cold.
Yet be marvelled at their scarred faces,
So beautiful, distant and old.

Some say they've heard them singing
In strange tongues of melancholy;
Of the gods, of the night, and of glory.
Of the dead, and their memory.

So they rode on.
Yes, they rode on.

Say goodbye to the light.
Come twilight, come dark night.
Say goodbye to the light,
Come twilight, come dark night.

Could you have rode there with them?
Would you have joined their march?
Or would you have them ride on?
Away into the dark?

Would you have been able to let go?
Of illusions of right and of wrong?
And if they came to die;
Would you have rode on?"

"Strange Little Girl"

One day you see a strange little girl look at you
One day you see a strange little girl feeling blue

She'd run to the town one day
Leaving home and the country fair
Just beware
When you're there
Strange little girl

She didn't know how to live in a town that was rough
It didn't take long before she knew she'd had enough
Walking home in her wrapped up world
She survived but she's feeling old
And she found all things cold

Strange little girl
Where are you going?
Strange little girl
Where are you going?
Do you know where you could be going?

Walking home in her wrapped up world
She survived but she's feeling old
'Cause she found all things cold

Strange little girl
Where are you going?
Strange little girl
Where are you going?
Do you know where you could be going?

Strange little girl
Where are you going?
Strange little girl
Where are you going?
Do you know where you could be going?
This was actually one of the first things I ever did for Nathan, and I mentioned it elsewhere, buuuuuuuuuuut...

Leaves are falling all around.
It's time I was on my way.
Thanks to you, I'm much obliged for such a pleasant stay.
But now it's time for me to go.
The autumn moon lights my way.
For now I smell the rain, and with it pain, and it's headed my way.
Sometimes I grow so tired, but I know I've got one thing I got to do...

[Chorus:]
Ramble On,
And now's the time, the time is now, to sing my song.
I'm goin' 'round the world, I got to find my girl, on my way.
I've been this way ten years to the day,
Ramble On,
Gotta find the queen of all my dreams.

Got no time to for spreadin' roots,
The time has come to be gone.
And to' our health we drank a thousand times,
it's time to Ramble On.

[Repeat Chorus:]

Mine's a tale that can't be told, my freedom I hold dear.
How years ago in days of old, when magic filled the air.
T'was in the darkest depths of Mordor, I met a girl so fair.
But Gollum, and the evil one crept up and slipped away with her, her, her....
Yeah.

[Repeat Chorus:]

Gonna ramble on, sing my song.
Gotta keep-a-searchin' for my baby...
Gonna work my way, round the world.
I can't stop this feelin' in my heart
Gotta keep searchin' for my baby.
I can't find my bluebird!

Weary Whaling Grounds

If I had the wings of a gull, me boys,
I would spread 'em and fly home.
I'd leave old Greenland's icy grounds
For of right whales there is none.

And the weather's rough and the winds do blow
And there's little comfort here.
I'd sooner be snug in a Deptford pub,
A-drinkin' of strong beer.

Oh, a man must be mad or want money bad
To venture catchin' whales.
For we may be drowned when the fish turns around
Or our head be smashed by his tail.

Though the work seems grand to the young green hand,
And his heart is high when he goes,
In a very short burst he'd as soon hear a curse
As the cry of: “There she blows!”

“All hands on deck now, for God's sake,
Move briskly if you can.”
And he stumbles on deck, so dizzy and sick;
For his life he don't give a damn.

And high overhead the great flukes spread,
And the mate gives the whale the iron,
And soon the blood in a purple flood
From the spout-hole comes a-flying!

Well, these trials we bear for night four year,
Till the flying jib points for home.
We're supposed for our toil to get a bonus of the oil,
And an equal share of the bone.

But we go to the agent to settle for the trip,
And we've find we've cause to repent.
For we've slaved away four years of our life
And earned about three pound ten.
For those League of Legends fans like myself, I think you'll enjoy this song too.
But this is the theme that I like to relate Garrett too.

The story behind the song is a theory - "Tormented by a haunting voice emanating from the Shuriman amulet on his hand, Ezreal must find a way to overcome the madness that tears at his very mind or face doom as he is consumed by it. "I think it fits Garrett due to the fact of his mental state, trying to fight his paranoia and the more eviler intentions/darkside that he sometimes has trying to find a way to harness them to do better and even for the good he does and him distancing himself from people the line. "I'm no hero, stay away" fits perfectly along with most of the lyrics but I'll try to stop gushing over this but it all fits so well! As for the lyrics, here they are and enjoy if you take a listen!

We saw you from the ocean's side, from under the boat
We saw you making knots, we saw you get the rope
The boy's appearing on the deck and making it lurch
And the bubble of your interest's ready to burst

He whistles and he runs....

We saw you in distraction, a sleeping, slow despair
Rehearsing interaction, he wasn't even there
A creature is a creature though you wish you were the wind
And the boat will not stop moving if you tie him up until the end

He whistles and he runs, so hold him fast
Breathe the burn, you want to let it last
He might succumb to what you haven't seen
He has a keen eye for what you used to be

When the cadaverous mob saves its doors
For the dead men, you cannot leave
When the cadaverous mob saves its doors
For the dead men, you cannot leave

When the cadaverous mob saves its doors
For the dead men, you cannot leave

Underneath the blue sky, the wind blows toward the future,
as if embracing the rays of the sun.

Merely wandering along,
I leave behind only a trail of footsteps.

As long as there's a breeze brushing my cheek & grass to lie in
I don't need anything else, and I'll smile with satisfaction.

Sleeping, gazing at
the never-ending future...

La la la...

I can hear the sound of waves, touching my heart,
selfishly aimless, like drops of rain.

The setting sun quietly reassures itself of everything,
then sinks into the distant sea, as if giving it a kiss.

Wandering towards
the dream of a never-ending future.

La la la...
I've been trying hard to find a good song for Nef. Nothing seemed to fit. First was Immortals by Fall Out Boy

Quote:They say we are what we are
But we don't have to be.
I'm bad behavior but I do it in the best way.
I'll be the watcher (watcher) of the eternal flame.
I'll be the guard dog of all your fever dreams.

However the rest of the song just doesn't fit well.

Found Happy by Pharrell Williams. It fits.. but it's not ALL of Nef. American Author's Best Day Of My Life is what Nef wakes up to every day, but still it just didn't have everything in there.

Then.. finally...

Yea.. that's perfect! She's happy, she drinks, she's loud, and does her own thing.

Quote:Slam slam, oh hot d**n
What part of party don't you understand,
Wish you'd just freak out (freak out already)
Can't stop, comin' in hot,
I should be locked up right on the spot
It's so on right now (so f***in' on right now)

Party crasher,
Panty snatcher,
Call me up if you want a gangsta
Don't be fancy, just get dancy
Why so serious?

So raise your glass if you are wrong,
In all the right ways,
All my underdogs,
We will never be never be, anything but loud
"Maybe gritty dirty little freaks"
Won't you come on and come on and raise your glass,
Just come on and come on and raise your glass

i'm fall out boy trash and i am sorry
I had Rihxo sing part of this, because it fit at the time.

She's in a long black coat tonight, waitin' for me in the downpour outside
She's singing 'baby, come home' in a melody of tears, while the rhythm of the rain keeps time
I remember 'baby, come home' (4x)
Did you ever love her? Do you know?
Or did you never want to be alone?

And she was singin' 'baby, come home' (I remember) 'baby, come home'

Also applicable, now:

There a room in a hotel in New York City, that shares our fate and deserves our pity
I don't want to remember it all; the promises I made, if you just hold on
Hold on (4x)

I just need enough of you to dull the pain; just to get me through the night, 'til we're twins again
'till we're stripped down to our skeletons again
'till we're saints just swimming in our sins again

And there's a jet black crow, droning on and on and on
Up above our heads, droning on and on and on
Keep making trouble 'til you find what you love
I need a new partner in crime, and you shrug

A'zahana's life after leaving the tribe in pretty much one song.
Like many characters, Odette has numerous sides to her character and development. Whilst I normally refer to Depache Mode's "Freestate" as the song that is most in line with the expression of her ideals, Gavin Dunne's "Wake the White Wolf" currently sums up past and present events perfectly.

Also, someone sent this to me as a recommendation. It's extremely cheesy, but it just fits our everyday Odette oh-so-well. Laugh

Father, father, let me love you
Saw you wandering in my dream last night singing
Wonder, wonder what you might do
You can't simply hide our dream in the blue

Don't try to fight; don't let me go
You've gone too far from what I know
I lost my heart in the dark with you
Father, father, why you let me go
Father, please don't let me go

Brother, brother, let me love you
Whisper all your deepest fears
You can trust me
And when it's over we can begin
Finally to make amends
Try to save us

Let me love you
