A winter wind blows through the streets of Gridania, leaves rustling and fluttering. Among the fallen leaves lie intruders, squares of cheap paper, imprinted with bold imflammatory print.

Quote:
MEN AND WOMEN OF THE SHROUD

YOU ARE SLAVES TO THE ELEMENTALS

DO NOT ACCEPT YOUR BONDAGE SO EASILY

ALL CHILDREN OF EORZEA DESERVE TO BE FREE

DO NOT BOW DOWN TO THE WRATH OF FALSE AND PETULANT GODS

RESIST THE ELEMENTALS!

CAST DOWN THE SEED SEERS!

CONTROL YOUR OWN DESTINY!

Fliers Printed under the Authority of the Eorzean Revolutionary Council Propoganda Action Committee.

Meetings Held Weekly, Time and Location to be Determined.

They sit stapled to trees and tied to posts, glued to walls and slowly disintegrating in woodland streams.

Near where they are most concentrated a woman's' voice can be heard, her words ringing out with fervor as most residents either avoid her, or call for the nearest wood wailer. She is short, for an Elezen, with jet black hair and violet eyes masked by slim glasses.

Somehow you have the misfortune of meeting her gaze, and she turns towards you holding out a flier.

"Ah! Comrade... ready to cast down these tyrants?"
Quki holds the flower, furrowing her eyebrowns, before slowly raising one. That whole situation fills her with an odd sense of deja-vu, as she thinks about it...until she turns to Evangeline. She seems to then raise both eyebrowns in absolute surprise, before speaking.

"Didn't you fall off a Cliff back in Thanalan?"

"Didn't you fall off a Cliff back in Thanalan?"

Evangeline pauses, her eyes narrowing. Her mind flashes back to a fateful encounter where she and Coatleque had been assaulted near the Coin and Coffer. There had been three of them, and they attacked without cause or warning. There had been a lalafell among them.

"AH!"

Evangeline points a finger, "AN AGENT OF TYRANNY!"

The two of them had only escaped the assault by rappelling down a cliffside, hitting the ground in a protective magic of Ser Crofte's design.

She places her hands on her hips, "Was that you back there then? I'll have you know that the cause of revolution was not halted by such a cowardly attack."
Benedict moves about picking up the fliers that are cast about without care or concern for what they say. Quietly talking to himself as he does, "Good paper. Useful on cold nights . . . Stick some under a shirt or in the boots. Helps stay warm. . . "

"No."

She deadpans, unphased by the claim, albeit tilting her head, confused

"I just heard about, I was in the Coffins drinking after checking a Pig Wrestling event that happened in the area, and I heard about you falling down a cliff."

She then waves her hand around

"You think if it was me, I wouldn't just say outright you should be dead. I'm simply curious, falling from a cliff is a very serious thing, with high chances of death...normally."

She finishes, her voice loaded with sarcasm, yet not unfriendly.

Evangeline pauses, "Oh..." She runs a hand through her hair, "You should have said so sooner. I almost had an angry mob carry you away." Where this angry mob might come from is not described.

"Y-yes I fell off, though I was able to cast out a rope to break my descent, and I was with a Paladin." She waves a hand, "She did a... paladiny type thing and it protected us when we hit the ground."

"In any case, alive I am!" She beams at the woman, "So! Ready to help me overthrow the Elementals miss?"

"Ah."
She nods in understanding, knocking on her head a bit, before turning back, her sarcasm replaced by a questioning look.
"And how do you plan to replace the spirits that come from Nature itself? You do know Gridania lives by their favour, and can just as easily take that away, don't you?"

Evangeline nods sagely, "With a democratically appointed citizen special action committee regarding matters involve the health of the shroud."

"It might not have the Greenwrath, but any malcontents will be faced with fines and community service. Much better."

"Of course we'll have to drive out or slay the Elementals, but other nations survive just fine without such supernatural overlords." She clears her throat looking a little less confident at this junction, "Research is... inconclusive on how that might be done."

"So you're literally saying you will slay the Twelveswood themselves." She says, her voice coming a bit dry, before she coughs.
"There is elementals everywhere, in Gridania they are simply stronger to make appearences. Hypotetically, let us say you succeed. Now you have a florest slowly dying, animals going out of control, and Conjurers without means to do their art, having to use their inner aether to make simple things like healing."
She scratches her head.
"You know how the War of Magi ended, right?"

"Oh I'm sure I can't do it alone... and hopefully they'll be reasonable and simply step down."

When the Lalafell speaks of the results she waves a finger, "There are other forests in the land do not have the Greenwrath, and Conjurers can pull aether from the land even without the presence of the Shroud Elementals."

"I do not object to their nature, only their domination. Who are they to decide what is right and wrong in the Shroud?" She crosses her arms, "The War of the Magi was a war of Tyrants, and while the Elementals did well in stopping it, that time is long past."

"It is time they peacefully transition to a democratic government of the people." She clears her throat and pulls out a set of notes, "I've... written a few letters to them. They don't seem to respond though."

"The Seedseers don't seem to know where they live either. Very aggravating."

"I don't think the elementals can read. Their communication...doesn't work that way, I'm afraid. I am no elemental specialist, I hardly care about them, but from what little I know, they work on "FEEL" rather than "THINK". You can't really speak with them, only very few people besides the Padjaals would even be able to sense them."

She glances a bit on the flier, closing her eyes.

"The elementals are literally the forest, and we tread on their home. I do not like them, their decisions can be very questionable, specially regarding the Conjurers. But, ultimately, I do not agree with the way you want to take things."

She extends it back to her.

"Sorry. If it makes you feel any better, I do believe there is much room to improve with Gridania."

"They... can't read?" Evangeline grumbles, "Perhaps I could teach them, then they might learn the error of their ways. I guess I need to hunt down a padjal then."

"The Elementals are not literally the forest, there are other forests than these and they manage just fine. Do not worry, the Shroud will still stand after I am done."

The Elezen takes the paper with a sigh, "It is unfortunate you are a woman with such small vision. I would have liked struggling besides you comrade... though at least you were open minded enough to speak to me."
Quki then puts her hands on her hips, lowering her eyebrowns, tilting her head a bit
"That last commentary was a bit uncalled for, you know."

She then rolls her shoulders, and simply shrugs.

"It's my opinion, what do I know. I don't even like Gridania. Couldn't really care less, just was curious with the whole process."

She turns to walk away, waving her hand

"Bye, try to not fall off 'nother cliff! They ARE really deadly!"
