Is this too farfetched of an idea? I was thinking of having my character fuse his arrows with the magical elemental properties (lightning, ice, fire). Like he was a Thaumaturge, but instead of using staffs he uses arrows from his bow. I don't think it would be a problem (considering bow and arrow is a skill that can be learned by anyone) but I just wanted to ask around, to make sure.
I don't see that being an issue, especially if it's involving a story. I guess as long as it's not OP in a player vs player rp combat sense.
I think it's fine.

This was an idea I had with Rihxo, but I realized she has no idea about magic-y stuff, so I just made it be a special coating on the arrows.

It'd basically just be an enchantment on the arrows, IMO.
I know several people who RP that the more magical skills of the Archer class are, in fact, aether-infused arrows. I've seen it done as an internal aether practice (like thaumaturgy) and an external aether practice (like conjury). I, personally, don't see anything wrong with what you're proposing, as long as you keep it to the limits of Archery (no Flare arrows Smile ).
I am of belief that it is completely fine. In fact, one how may play that out as how Windbite functions, giving the point an extra coat of razor sharp winds.
You will find many already do this.. go for it.. even start taking some magic lessons to see if you can develop it further.

You could add things like gathering of crystals that you use in crafting the arrows for example.

Granted, we've only seen very gifted mages (conjurers and thaumaturges) doing this, but it does have precedence in canon lore.

There's also:
Ser Hermenost the Thunderous Wrote:A veteran from the previous Lord Commander’s tenure, Hermenost was originally a friar in the service of Halone, and is known as a particularly devout man. Although he wields an axe on the battlefield, he is also a skilled mage, and devised a unique method of combat that involves imbuing his axe with lightning.

But really, Archer has abilities like Windbite and Flaming Arrow, so, there's that as well.
