Alone at night, a Hyur-cursed Carbuncle contemplates and thinks about his life until then. Alone in the dimly lit room with only fire and his body illuminating the place, he takes the time to think about the most important thing in his life...

Kukuna Kuna.

While the campaign against Xyla is drawing to a close, he looked back at his experience so far. Ever since Quint rescued him from the sewers. He had made plenty of companions and also seen much that this realm offered in terms of advancement. A scholar that he was felt a wealth of knowledge...yet one person, and only this one person has managed to capture his heart in his life.

"Kuna..." he humbly whispers silently in the night. His eyes fixated at the burning red and orange embers before him. Yet he continued talking to himself. Was it that his years of imprisonment been nothing but causing his sanity to dwindle? Or was it just because he enjoyed hearing his own voice? Whatever the case, he spoke to himself.

"Kukuna. No woman in my life has ever made me excited. You are cute and sweet. Your spell work is fine, though could use some refining, and yet you love so much about your craft. It lifts my spirit unlike any other..." he eyed the floor for a moment, looking for the box of cookies he had acquired from earlier. Though he didn't need to eat anything, he still could taste the food in this form. It merely broke down too quickly to savor nor feel full. Consuming a cookie with a light nibble gave pause in his words.

"Yet I cannot wait anymore. I want to be a Hyur again. I wish to hold you in my arms and say nothing but good things about you, Kuna. As I am, I cannot even protect you without making you worry...But for you, I would give my life a hundred times over just to see you smile."

Edward shook his head. "What am I saying? If I die she would be devastated. She even went ahead and fought Xyla after I took that comet spell. She fought because she cares about her friends...and i would of done the same in her shoes...yet why? Why do I feel so much affection towards her? Enough to of...licked her cheek?"

Asking the question, he blushed gently and felt ashamed once more. He remembered it since it happened only a couple days ago. Edward was talking to Kuna and the two of them were enjoying the time...and all of a sudden he licked her cheek. To see her blush like that made his heart race internally. While a kiss on the cheek seemed more common in this Era, he came from a time where such actions were overstepping bounds. That and he was a gentleman despite how he portrayed himself.

"She liked my cooking. Her smile is contagious. I...I love her. I didn't want to say it during the week I had as a Hyur. I couldn't. If i did, i would of broken her heart that moment i faded from her aura. The moment that I held Kuna in my arms so tenderly...I...I wanted to cry." He held in a few tears, nibbling on a cookie before the flames.

"Kukuna Kuna. I love you more than anything in the world. Yet out of my kindness, generosity and my mannerisms...I am a coward."

Edward looked back on the day he ate curry with Kuna. A day he never will forget. Her smile. Her utter joy. The sense of accomplishment in seeing her eat a meal made by his and her hand. It was a date but to Edward, it was heaven. A heaven he looked towards the future to see once more.

He sighed.

He sobbed.

"I want to be freed from this prison..." he cried softly. A grown man crying? It's painful. A carbuncle crying? that's just heart-wrenching. thankfully he was alone, and he could openly cry like this.

"Until that day...I will continue to wait. Continue to pray...and when that day comes-"

"I shall give Kukuna Kuna all the love I can show her from my heart, I will hold her tight and whisper my affection in her ear, and make sure she is happy until the end...or my name is not Edward Lazipu from Nym."
