Hey did anyone go to Fanfest 2014 before?
If so, how much taxes did they charge for two tickets? I am curious about it because I needed to know before I pay upfront for two tickets today.
Googling shows tickets ran 120 bucks in 2014. 2016 is 135 per, limit 4.

Were there any taxes included?

I dont think I see the taxes based from that. I suppose it'd be NV tax base then.
As mentioned in the chat, but for the benefit of anyone looking at the thread:

I don't think there's a tax listed for the tickets. This would be the first convention I've ever gone to that taxed tickets on top of the listed price, too, and if there is a hidden tax/fee, it should still display on a subtotal before checking out.

I want to say I think Blizzcon charged my S.O. and I for taxes last year. But it's also in So.Cal. I just can't remember entirely. I know they had an eventbright charge. And most cons that do use eventbright and other ticket sale things- do have some sort of surcharge which they do show.
Got another Fanfest-related question for anyone who bought tickets last time, and I figured it wasn't worth making a new thread. If you're buying multiple tickets, what information do you need from each person that you're buying a ticket for? Just first / last name that matches photo ID? Or do you need more information like DOB, etc.?
For that part, I would think they'd require someone to show their ID upfront with DOB and information just in case they know that you aren't selling the Fanfest pass third party basis.
They did say they'll be checking names/ID at the door this year.

Last time, they wanted:
Full name
Server
Character name[s]
Payment details
Oh yeah, I knew about checking of IDs at the door. What I meant was for when I actually order my tickets this evening. I'm picking up an extra pair for a friend and her boyfriend, and I wanted to go ahead and get whatever information I needed from them ahead of time to order the tickets.

(Mostly because I'm unreasonably paranoid of the unlikely nightmare scenario of having to stop and get extra info from them after I've already put in my pre-sale code, getting kicked out while waiting, and getting locked out from buying tickets.)

None. Just name and name to be put on badge. They will check the ID of the purchaser to make sure that all the credit card and billing info lines up, and only the purchaser can pick up the tickets from registration. Beyond that, nada else is required for anyone of the other tickets other than shirt size.
I quite remember being at a different register than McBeef who was the one who purchased my ticket. (I quite remember expressing my utter rage at the situation of getting locked out each attempt to buy a ticket and expressing it in the fanfest thread.)

They send an email to each person, no matter if someone else purchased the others' tickets. I got my own email and was able to pick up my badge by myself.

Edit again: *this is allowed because email is provided at time of purchase iirc. I got the email from eventbrite before I got the email from McBeef.

They wanted the ticket print out and ID.

I'm fairly sure I heard someone say that eventbrite isn't being used again but that's just a rumor.

Printed out proof of purchase always works. On my end I picked mine up with the QR code and got all 4 tickets at the same time and took them up to the room to await their actual owners.

It's not a Rumor, apparently it's through Showclix.

It was given to me through my email (not just my purchaser) so I assume that if you gave the other person's email, you won't need to have the purchaser get the ticket themself.

My teeny tiny power bank died or was lost earlier this year Sad

Not a problem, but I have no idea how Showclix' servers are to say the least. The site that Blizzard used this year was less of a trainwreck than Eventbrite was last year. So, I guess we'll see. I really feel that cons really need to avoid Eventbrite completely.
