Hey there! I've been itching to get into FFXIV's RP community for ages now, although when I first started playing I had no idea a RP community even existed! I have two characters at the old level cap, but stopped playing just after Heavensward when the people I used to play with fell out with each other and also stopped playing. I've been dying to come back ever since.

--MMORPG background
I've been into MMOs for quite some time now and I've RPed (well, at least tried to) on almost all of them. My main RP ground is World of Warcraft (unsurprisingly), but FFXIV just appeals to me that little bit more with it's world and it's playable races.

--RP experience
I've been RPing for quite some time now. I started when I was about 10 years old on the Neopets forums, then began to RP on WoW when I was around 15-16 (I'm 19, just to put that into context).

--Character ideas/info
I have hundreds of ideas I could put here! Although I think I'll just start out with one I've been favoring for a while now.

The general idea of my character is I want them to be the studious type; a lover of books and knowledge. They follow the path of the arcanist, studying and practicing magic to further their own knowledge of the world. However, as much as they say they want to adventure and gather knowledge from the far reaches of the world, they would much rather stay at home where life is easy. They could definitely use some encouragement to get them out the house!

I haven't quite decided what race they'll be, most likely Hyur or Miqo'te! ...Maybe Au Ra.

--How did you learn about the coalition?
On the forums of another site I frequent, I saw a topic for FFXIV. I decided to post, lamenting that I haven't been on in so long and am missing my time in Eorzea. Someone posted about their experiences with RP and told me which servers are best for RP, and eventually directed me right here!

--What kind of a role-player are you aiming to be? Light, medium, or heavy?
I'd like to be somewhere between medium and heavy. I don't want to be super serious about it but I'd really like to get quite into it!
Hello and welcome to the forum!

I'm still relatively new to FFXIV but I do know that the forums are friendly. In-game, I'm kinda intimidated because everyone is already settled.

I'll happily RP with you if you happen to be on Balmung or Siren.

Ehfi is a conjurer who can help encourage a studious type to go out and explore. (She's exploring to help those she cross paths with and to help ease any stress she can pick up on from the Elements. And that is the bare bones of her motive to adventure.)

Thank you! ^^

That's the problem I have with any MMO based RP, everyone else already seems to be so good at it. One of the main things I worry about most is making a lore error. I look over my characters time and time again because I feel like I've done something that doesn't fit with the game's lore.

Balmung's where I'm hoping to set up my character, but by the looks of things it might be a bit difficult. I'm sure I can play on the other servers until I can secure myself a spot there, or transfer them over if I can get the money!
Hey there! Welcome to the RPC!

Well, I'm not really a veteran or anything, but it's certainly kinda intimidating trying to fit in at first. But I can assure you everyone's very friendly and very eager to help! And of course, eager to RP. So if you have anything to ask or want to meet someone, just send them a /tell in game when you get the chance or send a PM here in the site! Big Grin

I also worry about the lore but hey, there are a lot of people here that know a lot about the game, and there's already a huge amount of information regarding lore and what you need to know.
You tell me about worrying about lore, I used expansion stuff for my character with just a few days of actually playing the game. But thanks to many people I've got it, at least good enough to fit with the game's events.

So feel free to wander and talk to people. Don't hesitate to send me a PM too, my character still needs to meet more friends!

I suppose I'm a veteran in terms of MMO RP but going to RP in a new MMO is always difficult. I'll be sure to get into as much RP as I can! That is, if I can get into the server I want. Well, even if I don't there's still other RP servers out there, just not quite as active. XD

I do my best to read up on as much lore as I can before starting a RP character (the main questlines help a lot!). I always feel like I'm going to slip up at some point when constructing their backstory though. I guess as long as I don't make any major blunders then I should be okay. Big Grin
