Tantalus Co. « IX » is a rank 8 lore-abiding Medium / Heavy RP FC with housing in the Goblet, and we're looking for startup members!


Formed from idolization of the Eorzean Lansequenet Theatre Company, Tantalus recreates the legendary plays of Lord Avon in comedic fashion as they travel Eorzea in their airship - the Prima Vista. Their productions are varied and many, and capture many themes. Love, Loss, Regret, Joy... yet comedy most of all.

We're a rather friendly startup FC which is looking to entertain and amuse Eorzeans from all three citystates with varying takes on stories we all know and adore - the works of the mysterious and legendary Ishgardian playwright Lord Avon ICly, OOCly? Satirical takes on varying FF game plots.

Actors, Stagehands, and Guards all have roles to play, and we hope to have monthly performances in the citystates, varying Free Company houses, and of course our very own airship, the Prima Vista! (which is presently grounded due to technical difficulties which might be related to a recent heist at Ul'dah.)

Otherwise we offer:
  • High-quality RP in a lore-abiding setting.

  • Full housing and double buffs.
  • Easy to understand and follow rules, to ensure everyone's comfort.
  • Zero drama.
  • No judgements. We don't turn away people based on race/gender preference, as long as their characters are well thought out and lore-abiding.
  • Community. We don't want to be a huge, faceless RP. Recruitment is suspended after a wave is thought big enough.
  • Discord. Whether you're comfortable talking or not, we're here!
  • A variety of roles. So your character isn't a fightytype? No worries. An acting, stagehand, or other position awaits!

Updates: August 2016
We're freshly founded and really happy to be here! The FC at large is closed until early September, but we are recruiting. Our hope is to have our applicants comfortable and used to each other until we go live, so to speak. 

The bulk of this month's activity has been:
  • Forming the FC
  • Recruitment

  • Last-minute decoration to the Prima Vista
  • Working with other FCs to have venues for performances
  • Scoping out performance spaces in the three citystates.

Updates: September 2016
Busy busy busy. Cactuar

In September, we:
  • Opened recruitment to the Balmung server, and have had some interest!
  • Have started shouts and tumblr based recruitment.

  • Have added Baku's office, the meeting room, and other facilities to the Prima Vista!
  • Have a contract with a very special sponsor for the production of the musical Springtime For Solus! 
  • Have a planned FC event, and numerous personal plots underway!
We're actively looking for actors for our first production, Whatever: The Squall Leonhart Story!  If your character has a flair for the dramatic and you want a good, intimate home for them where small, personal connections is way more important than a massive FC full of strangers, we might be for you. Send a /tell to Shion Baku ingame, or hit up this thread.

We don't care if you're an alt. We don't care if you're level 10. If you have a well-thought out, lore abiding character, we'd love to have you, so apply today!
