Hydaelyn Role-Players

Hello all!  I am a rather new player who is trying to "break into" the RP community here.  Everyone seems rather friendly but you know how it is when you're the new person in a crowd.  

Such that it is, here's my post!  I have a wiki page that I've spent a decent amount of time in filling out, but here's the highlights to spare you reading the whole thing up front:

- 30 year old Ala Mhigan refugee. 
- Rough around the edges, and more than a little uneducated, but not a bad guy.
- Mercenary-for-hire, mostly around Vylbrand.
- Previously a petty criminal, mostly around Ul'dah. 
- In need of connections of just about every type imaginable

I'm looking for:

- folks that are around during east/central US evening prime time hours, because those are also my hours.
- people that are not afraid to deal with noobs!  because I am a noob about this game.  My lore knowledge is pretty modest.
- LCs, because I do enjoy both IC and OOC chatter.  I'm probably looking for IC over OOC but I'd consider either one for networking. 
- I don't know about a FC yet, because honestly I don't have much to offer - I sit here at level 30 lancer, and yes, that's my highest. 
- I won't be offended if anyone would prefer to "try out" my RP before wanting me as part of their stories and plots.

I can't offer up any LS at the moment, I'm behind in that department but I do belong to a great FC that can help you with just about all you need, IC and OOC.  We're at blackgriffin.enjin.com

Hey there!

I can punt Kasi your way- she's also a traveling freelance mercenary, but also a trader and meat cook. She also possesses criminal connections as well, so there's a fair bit of overlap there. You can browse her RPC biography in my signature if you like- let me know if anything tickles! 

Apart from that, there's also ShroudLife, which is a wandering wilderness linkshell that mostly aims to get out of the cities to create RP by the roads. This is great for traders, mercenaries, and wilderness survivalists all, so it might be a good place to hit! Details about this one are also in my signature.

Finally, there's Mischief's Coven which is essentially your criminal syndicate mafia FC, but you don't need to join the FC to become involved with them. Once again, details of that are in my signature!

I don't usually go 3-for-3 here with connections, but hey, I hope this helps!

Thanks for the info- as I said, not really looking for a FC right at the moment.  Appreciate you looking through my stuff though!

Hey, Amalric! Like you, I'm also pretty new to the community, so I think it would be awesome if we could get together and rp. I also think our characters could be pretty entertaining foils. Kazukata shares a lot with Amalric (older wandering mercenary/adventurers, both refugees), but has ended up almost his polar opposite in personality (Kazukata's all about high-minded ideals and is a bit more of a goody two shoes). I think the interplay between them could be entertaining.

Read through your wiki page, and yeah, I can definitely see where that could be a meeting that could either end up as being friends, or total rivals.  Either one is great.  Will look you up when the servers come back!  

I am new as well and would gladly RP with you and adventure too!

Yes hello fellow Ala Mhigan RPer, I like what I'm hearing and we should do things sometime maybe if you're down for it.

I'm also totally fine with fielding gameplay/lore questions, fwiw.

I would very much like to start getting a feel for RP with other Ala Mhigan characters, especially given the expansion.  (I did not actually know about Stormblood when I made the character... lol)   Let us be Mhigans together.
