It is at this time I would like to state that due to a small influx of members we are now currently switching to applications for free company registration. We are very happy to see all the interest and note that we are not closing our doors entirely, but are now simply just becoming slightly more selective. With that said, we look forward to playing with everyone and are excited to grow with a wonderful team. Thank you for your understanding.

As of this time, I would like to take the opportunity to announce we are opening up our recruitment doors again and would love to take on applicants who share our passion for Roleplaying and for the love of the game. We plan on being around for quite a while as the game shows it is getting better and better each day and can't wait to see what's further in store. We are heavy plot based and even have our hands in playing some villain characters (ICly outside the FC but OOCly inside for story plot purposes) to create interesting settings and to drive character growth. A simple life of simple pleasures.  That was all any of us wanted, or so we thought.  A chance to sail around, see the world a bit…maybe find some treasure.  Some said they wanted money, others wanted fame, but I think we wanted to stand tall with solid folks at our backs.  Folks you could count on.  Folks you could trust.  Friends, you could say, and what would be wrong with that?

Of course, that was before the Calamity.  Treasure…money…fame…  Did any of it matter when the moon shattered and Bahamut painted the world with fire?  

They called us the Crimson Blades, or some said the Crimson Pirates.  Our old Company was a band of thrill seekers and vagabonds.  Professional treasure hunters.  Pile up all the wealth in the world, every hidden cache of gold, every scepter held by some dead king in a forgotten kingdom, every jeweled crown plucked from an ancient tomb.  Add up every coin minted in every bank in every country, and what do you have?  Can treasures save the ones you love?  Can fame shield them from Bahamut’s wrath?  

You can keep your grand companies and your armies and your airships and your summons.  Take all your great artifacts and your hocus pocus fireballs and your thrice-damned, cheating healing magic.  You can keep your cannons and your magic armor and your swords tempered in the belly of a volcano.  None of that matters so much as the people behind you.

What is power?

Who We Are
The Night Blades are a loose organization of mercenaries committed to fighting the Primals and the Garlean Empire.  We’re seek power to combat these threats and to protect the free peoples of Eorzea, and we’ll get it.  No matter what!

As a guild, the Night Blades have existed in some form for over ten years.  There are members who have known each other since Final Fantasy XI, and the Company has remained a unique band of misfits through World of Warcraft, Lord of the Rings Online, The Old Republic, and who knows what else.  It might seem intimidating but we love new members and everyone is welcome!  (Believe me, I only joined the Company last September!)  

As it stands, we have about forty unique members playing different characters across multiple time zones.  We even have Company members in Asia and Europe.  We’re active daytime, primetime, ANYTIME!  No matter when you choose to play, you’ll find friends.

How We Stand
The Night Blades are primarily a role-playing Company and we’re committed to being a positive RP presence in game.  We support sever-wide RP events and have regular RP activities within the Company.  Our members are friendly and helpful, and we love to engage characters and play out individual storylines.  We also have RP on our guild forums, with many members writing journals or participating in forum RP on a daily basis.

Besides individual storylines, the Company has an ongoing plot that continues to unfold.  At this moment, we’ve scored a major victory against the Garleans and are enjoying a lull in the action, so it’s a great time to get involved.  You need to hurry though, already our enemies are regrouping…

In addition to our heroic storylines, we provide a villains-for-hire service where we supply the baddies for events hosted by other Free Companies.  There’s been a lot of demand for bad guys, so if playing the villain is your thing it’s a great time to sign up!

What We Do
Although we consider ourselves primarily an RP guild, the Night Blades raid actively and have cleared Turn 4 in the Binding Coils of Bahamut.  We also support characters getting their relic weapons by having on-demand runs of quest content.  We do dungeons together and level alternate classes together, and lately we’ve been having regular forays into the Crystal Tower, as well as working on Extreme Mode Primals.  Furthermore, we’re spearheading a new effort to raise gil for our company house.  No matter your interests in endgame, we’re ready to support you and have fun!

The Night Blades is officially in Turn 6, yall, and most of us are working n our Leviathan X clear (Which we should have soon, we were just ramming our face into Twintania).

On the Roleplay front - someone named Thunder is causing trouble for Uldah! And the Garleans seem to be back in action! Oh noes! Season three, lets go!

We are a stable guild of about 50-60 people that still feels like a small community. We have a small house in Mist (Ward 5, plot 20) where Unity is our neighbor and since we feel in competition with them in endgame we pointed one of our canons at them. Did we mention we have three canons? You can come hang out with us there, though Ellion may fire a cannon at you. Currently we're saving for a large house in Lavender Beds.

We love new people. We love you. We also love pie. And Lalafells.

The Night Blades is still exceedingly active with 50-60 members and we have 3 raiding groups - Limsa and Ul'dah (Both in Coil2) and the baby learning raid group that is Gridania (New to Endgame? That's the one to join!). We have the X primals on clear and Twintania on farm. We don't skimp out on endgame!

We, just yesterday, bought a large plot in Lavender Beds - making us the only RP guild with a mansion in the area, AND - after three days of 4-5 people just making Militia Chokers, managed to grind up a second FC called "The Adamant" that runs the soon-to-be opening Rum 'N Rumble in Mists (Ward 5, Plot 20). The Adamant itself will be recruiting soon, looking for alts of people who want to help with the Rum 'N Rumble to help make it a success! Our Guild has been such a mess of people /gquitting and then coming back after they helped grind. /Guildleaderproblems

IC:

THe Night Blades recently saw the loss of their leader, Ellion Goto. After raiding one of the last remaining Castrums, he sacrificed himself in order to try to save everyone else. Lum Delume and Loki Aethertide are heading up the search and a small team has volunteered to help find him. Contacts do not know if he's alive or dead, or even where he would be. Loki Aethertide has been made acting leader, while Siben Farnesworth is Second-in-Command. Most of Loki's work so far has been trying to Explain to the Limsa authority why so many cannons are necessary.

The NB is also interested in finding Artifacts from the Lost Allagan Empire. They have been scouring Ruins and getting into trouble with their curiosity, though the reason for these excavations remain a secret. They have been on one dig so far, which resulted in a friend of the guild being trapped in the ruins for awhile, and looking through old books from their Crimson Blade days. This has made Fillion - a Garlean with a team still in Eorzea - very interested indeed and it seems the Night Blades and Fillion & Co. will butt heads once again!

Updated our IC information with SO MUCH INFO it may be too much and some ooc information to update the entry! Also added our stance on Lore, which we've decided is super important, which I will also post in here:

A bit of a warning: We enjoy being as true to lore as possible. While we believe in bending lore to fit your character to a point, we believe VERY HEAVILY in respecting the lore in this game (Not the overall FF games, just this universe) and if something just cannot be done in lore, then it shouldn't be done. Some people love this about us, believing the challenge in playing is maneuvering around the lore to get what you want, while others find us too restrictive in that sense. We discuss lore constantly and make sure the guild, it's storylines, and even it's members are following lore without breaking it (Remember: Bending it a bit is totally okay). This information should probably be known to potential applicants so you have all the available information. We love working with people to make sure their characters are exactly what they want while still being lore appropriate (Because most of the time it's possible, people just don't know how).

Monthy Update!

IC:
Ellion is still missing, but after months of infiltrating hot spots for information, searching through various means - including trying to find things by reverse engineering a Linkpearl (Thanks M'wanthala for that crazy scheme) and many missions to various places to look for clues, eventually the Night Blades hit on a location. It turns out not only is their glorious leader there, but also a Miqote by the name of S'ereno - who seemed to be taken because of his unusual Aether signatures. Not much is known about this man, as the only person who knows him is his friend who was also taken with him but eventually rescued by the Night Blades when they interrupted a prisoner transfer, but Loki - the interim leader - is very interested in getting her hands on him to explain a few things.
The Rum And Rumble is seeing business, with a story night and a Casino night set up, The owner of the place hired a new events manager - Singer and Dancer Y'vahri, in order to help run the place which has so far proved very successful.
On the not so dramatic end - there are many experiments happening in the lab in the basement. Siben Farnesworth - leader of the Development division - has a small team now to help him. The kitchen of the mansion is getting quite staffed and many people are finally able to eat a decent meal. Artifacts are being researched, mysteries are trying to be solved. People are trying not to get stabbed.

All in a days work.

Turn 8 is finally in the grasp for a few people in the Night Blades and we are currently working on Ramuh Ex. Team Gridania is setting up to run yet again, with many people who have yet to step into Coil2 ready to give the challenge a go! Hunt parties are being set up in the mornings - because all of us hate Prime Time hunts (Just no) and our mumble has seen to much activity we're going to have to buy more slots for people. 15 of us are getting prepared to head down to Las Vegas for fanfest. Look for us there We also got Mister Happy to say "Hoobah" repeatedly during his Twitch Stream where he ran CT2 with us. We consider it an accomplishment.

Sooo.. NB has officially hit T9! Hurray.

Yes, Night Blades is still around. I periodically see them in Mist and Limsa Lominsa.
