So I finally got tired of my dead server and figured I would see whats going on, on Belmung. So far its been.... Interesting. Joined a FC that was cool but dead most the time. Had someone ask me, " How much are you willing to pay for a good time." Then to top it all off, I walked in on some cat love in the Church of Adama....
Did I join the Goldshire of FF14 or just have bad luck lol.
Bad luck, there's definitely good roleplay to find on Balmung and plenty of it. I'd advise making a Making Connections thread to find the kinda roleplay/FC you're looking for, and attending roleplay events advertised here just to see a little more into what goes on at Balmung that isn't catgirl ERP.Â

Hey Wymar, welcome aboard!
I'd agree with the others and say you just had a rough start and it's about to get a lot better. I used the RPC as a springboard to dive into the rp community here, and I can honestly say after getting to know some of the people here that out of a half dozen MMOs I've rped in, FFXIV has by far been the best experience I've had. You're in good hands.
I definitely second the recommendation to jump into a making connections thread when you get a chance. And don't be shy about responding to other people's threads if something really catches your eye.

I too have enjoyed my time thus far! I always like to meet interesting people and lets face it. The weird stuff we encounter just adds that much more to the encounter!
