I have a character who I'd like to play as a young aspiring Ul'Dahn swordsman, and I could do with an organisation for him to work and learn with. Looking for a place of knight-like RP.

It's not an FC, but I there IS a Sultansworn Linkshell called Sultanswarm that has been... well, pretty quiet as of late. I have a character in it, but there hasn't been much chatter so I don't know how alive it is - might be worth looking into, though?

Kasi can train people in the art of swordplay- both sword/shield as well as greatsword. Training is actually RP'ed out fully too and is fairly accurate to real-world technique. That said, she is a mercenary with strong connections to the criminal underground. I wouldn't call her a knight, per se.Â

The Hydaelyn Protectors are a vigilante knight-like linkshell which is fairly active and led by Deahfel. They're based out of the Goblet in Ul'dah, so that might be pretty close to what you're looking for! I link to them belong in my signature- give them a look!

I'd also say that the aptly named fc Knights of Eorzea would be straight up your character's alley. You might want to look into them! Here's their thread in the FC hall: http://ffxiv-roleplayers.com/showthread.php?tid=17970

It looks like Kazu and Kasi already provided both the links I was going to throw your way. We would love to have you check out our in game linkshell and discord server where we schedule most of our RP. Right now we have an upcoming knight tournament as well as an ongoing plot to track down a wanted woman in Ul'Dah with some underworld connections. So if that sounds interesting feel free to reach out to me with any questions you might have or we can set up a time to get you sworn in.
For FC's I would certainly recommend Ryslo's group Knights of Eorzea. We have teamed up with them on events before and they are a great group of people. I also like how they are structured to make sure all incoming members get more personalized RP from one of their knights.
