I just tried to redeem a 60 day Game Time Code that I bought, but it told me I couldn't because it was the wrong code for my region. It was a digital code.
How do I tell which region a code works in if it isn't listed?
Where'd you buy it from and in which currency? You'll want to make sure you're getting a card for your region, which should be listed in the Mog Station.
Typically, a shop will say which region it's for. They do have to match, even though it's kinda silly. (But this is to prevent people from cheating import costs/taxes/etc likely. ...like how a gamecard is priced different in Britsh Pounds and Euros and people could make a tiny profit buying from one and selling to the other.)
I had a lot of difficulty finding a shop that didn't have them out of stock. I guess people bought them up for Stormblood.
I ended up buying it from Play-Asia.com in Australian dollars, but it turned out to be a US region code.
I have a friend that lives in the US who has said that she'll swap with me if I can find one that's definitely for my region for her to buy. The SE store has them, but I can't find region mentioned on them. I live in New Zealand.
The problem is if your registration account is linked to something else than the NA mogstation, I believe it might cause issues.
Like for Oceania people, do you usually go through the EU store?
( I happen to know an Australian that got banned from mogstation initially for trying to buy through the JP mogstation because he lives in Japan, for example, or when I had to go specifically through the FR square enix store for the lorebook and not the EU one even if I live in the EU... So Australians got to go through the EU stores, but not me or germans, which is lol )
Then again, take what I say with a grain of salt because it also concerns the SE store and not just the localized mogstations.
tl;dr Their stores are gated as hell.
From what I have heard, all of Oceania gets gated behind the EU store, so that would seem normal to me.
