Not exactly a plain benchmark screenshot but I am in love with my friend's miqo'te, K'nahli's soon-to-be little sister! >w<

Made some more tweaks. The main thing that I've been wrestling with since phase 3 is that from a distance, everything about her just appeared brown, brown, brown. Her hair was brown, her skin was brown, her eyes were dark yellow (which appeared nearly brown), and her lips would appear brown everywhere except very bright outdoor environments. So, I tweaked each of those things slightly to give her some more color.

So, I bumped up her hair color a single shade, gave her some lip color, and changed her eye color.



Odds are I'll continue to tweak it up until phase 4 starts (especially the eye color, which I'm still very much experimenting with), but I definitely like having some more color in her face now.

Funny that you say that. I mean, considering my character is essentially nothing but three colors - black, brown, and yellow. And a bit of pink in the makeup, I guess. All the same, I'm pretty happy her with being 'plain' color-wise.


Edit: Looking at it a bit more, I think the problem is that your character all tends towards the same 'middle' values (as compared to my character who varies between black hair, dark brown eyes, and light-yellow skin), which can look a bit boring. Looks better now with the brighter hair, but it's not very often that I think the colors are the problem as much as the range of values. Try to have some contrast somewhere and generally you won't have issues. On the other hand, maybe having a character that doesn't stand out can be a boon, as well...

I love this benchmark soooooo much, I've been doing silly things with it.

So on the urging of a friend, I tried making a Highlander version of Naunet...



Frick. It's so good. Well, minus the hips. Ideally she'd be significantly less curvy (why can't the chest slider go any lower qq), but... argh! A bunch of chatting with friends has developed a really fun backstory for her, too, so... I guess I need to start thinking of a new story for my elezen. Oops.

I wonder how successfully I can RP a character who is supposed to look fairly indistinguishable in terms of gender in this community. It was hard even with Forsaken!Naunet in WoW, which you wouldn't think would be difficult, considering... But players always just make assumptions based on what they see OOCly. >_<

Version 1 This is my original design for him. I like the pulled back hair because I can use the white highlights (and therefore get a white tipped tail) and the little ponytail is sort of a sailor-y look.

I'll have to vote for the original. I really like the highlights with the 'do. Also the colors really compliment each other. Looks very tomcat feline.

On an unrelated note and as an added bonus, I made David Bowie.

I've noticed the majority of the Miqo'te males are going for the tossed choppy hair... and I am jumping on that bandwagon because it's way too good to pass up because of popularity! He is damn sexy!

Finally finished debating on her hair - and I am happy to say, she is ready for phase 4.
