Q to the Q!

Lol, okay I see your point. And yes, I also know a LOT of people are saying that basically Season Two is moving along like Season One never even happened.

To which I point out that, WHAT did exactly happen in Season One that made people think that Korra, or any character for that matter, have any real SOLID character development? She beat Amon, great, but why would that make her any more mature? A character doesn't change over just a season USUALLY (though it happens due to ingenious story-writers), which is ironic because they even tried to make that happen in one season because the creators were under the impression that they were originally JUST going to have one season. WHICH is why they rushed Korra/Mako relationship, but I do agree it did feel very rushed and sudden.

Now they are contracted for three. Sooooo, now they have a LOT more room to introduce character development, plot, growth, etc, etc. Hence why Korra is still acting like she never grew up in Season 2--because she hasn't. She WILL though, I mean it ain't M. Night Shamallamallamalla that directed/created this at least, so it can't be THAT bad XD

One last point that I make, is I ask those who do not like Korra season 2 (or in general) if they liked the original Avatar. I then ask them if those that enjoyed the original can TRULY give Korra opinions WITHOUT bias? We remember the old, how amazing, epic, and damn near perfect it was. How high of a pedestal do we set the predecessor to where their successor could never hope to reach?

I do though agree 100% about Bolin (Bolyn?) being shoved into the Sokka role without much else other than being the comic relief. It makes me very sad. BUT! I still have hope! PLENTY of time to explore his character. I mean they are already touching upon the REALLY awkward relationship between him and Freska? Or...whatever her name is o.O

They are VERY much indeed, but unless again something has changed (which might POSSIBLY have since the time I posted about this last), there is NO OFFICIAL statement released that season two is coming. I had a quick conversation with someone else about this on the thread earlier. I'll see if I can find it.

Mako, With Mako, in a Mako, on a Mako...
Mako-ception!!!!

Seriously though... I just finished Attack on Titan as well and could really use a new series to get into.
I enjoy anime like: Berserk, Record of Lodoss War, Fate Stay/Zero, Kenichi, Fist of the North Star, Haruhi Suzumiya, School Rumble (don't judge me -.-), and DuRaRaRa.  There are others I've seen but these are the ones that I can remember off the top of my head that left me thinking "Wow... that was awesome"

Gundam Build Fighters.
Unbreakable Machine Doll.
Kill la Kill.
Blazblue - Alter Memory.
Yuushibu.

Those are just the ones I'm thinking of picking up right now (In addition to the Gifuu Doudou and Danball Senki Wars I watch every week.), and there's a ton more. Oh jeeez.

Eh, I can't get into a Gundam series that's all about playing with the toys and playing in virtual reality with your cobbled together gunpla, which only works right if you put extra love into its creation. If you put yours together solely for the stats, I'm afraid you can't stand up to those that love their gunpla. Yeeeah....

I'm with you on the rest though.

I've got zero beef with Korra's character and am actually enjoying Book 2 right now (with the exception of the very predictable Mako-Korra action - I mean really, we all know that by the next episode, she'll find out that Mako was "right" and then she'll ~forgive~ him and they'll get back together la la la *gag*). I think Korra has fantastic depth and a lot of people aren't seeing her actions for what they really are: the product of a young, intensely independent woman with some serious anger issues. She jumps to conclusions easily, does not understand the meaning of the word diplomacy, and is naive enough that she'll believe what most people tell her at face value (which has left her very open to manipulation, as we've seen in Book 2). She holds strong moral ideals, but she sticks to them with the kind of youthfully ignorant tenacity of one who doesn't know how to apply those ideals.

What she accomplished at the end of season 1 did not get close to fixing the issues she has, and those who feel like the writers have forced her to take a step backwards don't actually understand the development that did happen. Tenzen tried to point it out to her: just because she's able to use the Avatar state doesn't mean she's mastered anything - least of all herself. I have a feeling we'll find out that the angry spirits that keep popping up will have a lot to do with how Korra is developing as the Avatar, and less to do with any spiritual wasteland in the southern water tribe.

So yeah, there's a lot of really solid build-up going on with Korra. A+ work on her character. Mako though? Just stuff him in a bag and come up with something new, please. XD
I've been catching up on Silver Spoon, and I have to say it's shaping up to be a good show. Hard to believe it shares an author with Full Metal Alchemist.

A series I really enjoyed was A Sunday without god. 神様のいない日曜日
Its a nice kind of segmented anime with interesting arcs in a world that I really wish had more explanation. It is about a world where god has ceased to exist and allows people to live even if they should of died.

the main character is a 'Gravekeeper' whom is supposedly supposed to bury the 'dead but living' and let them pass into heaven. Alternatively, people cant be born. There hasn't been a child born in 15 years or so.

i'd give it a 9/10. It has a Angel beats feel - but with a better premise. Chocobo
Thumbsup Even though hubby and I are still working through the end of episode 3 (because it wants to end like how I told him it would and he has regressed to denial being the secret papa bear to our girls that he is).

\O_ Pick me, pick me.

I'm drowning under a flood of K-drama right now and pining the end of Shark (I LOVED THAT DRAMA) like crazy.

I'm not feeling the current J-dramas, although I am stuck on Last Money because that's my RL industry. Cry
At the moment I am mainly watching One Piece, SnK (Attack on Titan) and Avatar: A book of spirits or whatever it's called atm Tongue

*shoves Mako cosplay under bed with foot* Eh-heh ^.^;;

Nah but I see where you are coming from. Maybe I'll change my mind about Mako since I'm watching season one over again. As it stands for now though, I like this character, it is believable ENOUGH xD

If they are truly having a 3 season run, that will also probably means (hopefully) Mako is going to be going through a lot of changes like everyone else. Speaking of which! Today new Korra! xD I really HOPE they don't magically kiss and make up like a cliche it would be. I DO however hope that they will eventually hook back up EVENTUALLY once both of them do some 'growing up' Tongue

In the end though, needs moar Bolin!

Here's hoping some of the other witches get some spotlight, not that I don't enjoy the "main" group after two seasons and the movie, I'm not sure where there is to go, Strike Witches doesn't seem like the kind of anime which would "advance" the relationships it hints at so much.

There is a lot of good anime this season but my favorite surprises would have to be Outbreak Company and Log Horizon.
