Thought I might share this with everyone, this has some great stuff for if you can't remember somethings name, or want to know some basic lore if you don't know it already, as well as in game basic's information.

Again I offer this as a resource to help people, it's were I learned about the 12 that FFXIV will have in it for my characters backgrounds, do enjoy.

*EDIT* added a link to a killer name generator.
Haha I think this time around, we are going to be up to our ears in redundant wikis. Allakhazam and Eorzeapedia both have had wikis up with the same info as Core's for quite some time, and we are making a lore wiki here for this site as well, not to mention individual guilds with wikis. At least this time around, everyone will be quite well-informed, I suppose. Big Grin
Better to have too much information then not enough, also I plan to add some nice old RP stuff I have used over the years. Which actually I will add now. lol

I'd originally planned a lore wiki for the Stormguard, but once the RPC started theirs, I figured it just wasn't worth the effort on my part. Wink I'll simply help contribute to the RPC.

Just as long as all the wikis don't contradict each other, yes. ^^;
I take it back. I've decided to compile a lore wiki for the Stormguard, since the Stormguard in-character, has their own archives of doings, religion, and lore in Eorzea. I assume that only Stormguard members will be using it, however, so I won't advertise it here.

I've also linked to the RPC lore section, Eorzeapedia, and FFXIV Core on the Stormguard forums, so if there ARE any discrepancies, my members can figure it out.
We may not end up with a wiki ourselves at this rate >.>. If I can find someone to at least fix/create the navigation menu, I could probably do the rest. But experienced volunteers are few and far between it seems.

Eorzeapedia will probably be the most used major wiki seeing as they have the most experience by far in that particular department. Plus, they were the dominant one in FFXI which puts them at an automatic advantage in FFXIV as well.

Core...well, (off topic rant on) let's just say quite a few of us (myself included) are about ready to throw in the towel when it comes to them. The community there is so oblivious and uncaring toward RP despite numerous attempts to reach out to them. Our link is posted there more times than on any other fan site. Malrend recently bumped like 3 separate RP threads there and all 3 fell right back into oblivion instantly. Anytime the RPC is mentioned, responses tend to be "what's that?" RP related threads receive very few responses and views. And to top it off, our redirect rate from them is only about 2-3% (compared to Zam's 20% and Eorzeapedia's 13-14%). The staff there does support RPers seeing as two of them are/were RPers themselves. But not as much as they really should in my opinion. Eorzeapedia put us into their podcast. Zam gave us a front page article and plans to put out more, along with a wiki section. So far, Core hasn't done much save for offering to put up a little blurb about our RP server choice with their weekly wrap-up. Woohoo... The members themselves just don't give a rat's behind. I'm getting off topic though. Just needed to get that off my chest somewhere though, saw Core mentioned, and saw my chance >.>;. /end rant.

No really, tell us how you really feel. Tongue

Castiel, I won't be able to do anything till after I'm officially out of college (10 weeks) and I've never done a Wiki before (doesn't seem hard though) but perhaps if the wait is willing I can be of some assistance after.
Depending on the type of Wiki you're after (i.e. a game Wiki or an RP orientated one in which you can post character profiles, too), me and some friends have run wikis/wikias before.

An example of what we can offer are pages like there (This was for our Champions Online group.)

<!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://templar.wikia.com/wiki/Vann">http://templar.wikia.com/wiki/Vann</a><!-- m -->
<!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://templar.wikia.com/wiki/Smokin_Mirrors">http://templar.wikia.com/wiki/Smokin_Mirrors</a><!-- m -->
<!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://templar.wikia.com/wiki/Metal_Raven">http://templar.wikia.com/wiki/Metal_Raven</a><!-- m -->

Of course, the side-panel can be customised to replace certain aspects to make it match XIV and it's lore.

There're a lot of things we can try to offer/work on if this is along the lines of what you want. If it's just a normal Lore-esque wiki, I'm sure it's not too hard to convert, but I've only really worked on making these kind of styles myself.
This should be an easy fix. Send me an email if you want me to fiddle with it this week.
I take it back. You're going to have change your skin to get that to work for you....
