Ha ha, we're popular, that's for sure. However I noticed for every character with a serious name, there is another one that some person must have made just as a joke. Meowie Wowie is a Miqo'te I saw the other day. Probably/hopefully not a Role Player.
Quality over quantity I say. Try to ignore the silly ones as if they are ghosts. Pay attention for serious names. Examine their search info to see if they marked themselves as Role Players. That should help you sort through the kitties.
BTW: I do some... catish things... with my character sometimes, but I never go so far as to act like she is possessed by a house cat. I think playing Miqo'te with a few cat-like tendencies is fun, but making them jokes is not cool IMHO.

I was tempted to reroll my Miqo'te main when I saw how many there were, but gosh I really like him. I still kick myself for investing time in him before I ever even knew there were naming conventions, though I think I'm making the one I have work.
