Hi there,

I have been a fan of RP'ing for quite a while now. The last MMO I played was quite a few years ago, mainly as I was playing by myself and had no friends (insert 'awww' here).Cry

Being a FF fan since I was young I remembered seeing about a FF MMO and quickly jumped onboard yesterday. And first impressions are always important and I just had a feeling a few hours in that this was somewhere I could call home after being a nomad for a long time.

But as there are no official RP servers I did a few searches and ended up on Gilgamesh but I have no idea if I'm in the right place or if there is a not so official RP server that I don't know about, (I think it might be Balmung).
Concidering I've only just really started I'd be all up for moving servers as I have a character on both, currently playing Balmung as of this post. Big Grin

Any advice would be helpful and I hope to see some of you soon! Blush
Hello and welcome to the RPC Salvi!

Thats a shame that you don't have anyone to join up with from day one here... but have no fear there are plenty lurking around, likely at this very moment! I'm going to start off with a few links that should help familiarize you with the RPC and some of the groups held here.

As a note the RPC supports both Balmung and Gilgamesh as RP servers, Balmung being the results of a server merge in 1.0 with Besaid, and Gilgamesh being the result of a vote before the release of "A Realm Reborn." but onto the information!

Here is a generic welcome post that outlines a bit of info about the RPC as a whole as well as a few key resources (the wiki, lantern and calendar as a note.) A good thing to start you off, fairly short.

If you don't mind a bit of a longer read, this RP handbook by Eva is marvelous, touching on nearly every topic. Though quite lengthy I find there are few better foundations for your roleplaying experience.

(As a note you can use the index hidden in the spoiler bar to skip ahead of some areas if you feel confident about certain aspects.)

But onto the communities! maybe you just want to go out and meet some people.

The "Coalition" is a Gilgamesh based OOC hub for roleplayers of all stripes, get to know where, when and while people are in areas, get to know the people behind the characters, maybe share a few ideas.

"Intermission" Is the Balmung OOC RP hub, open to all and home to a great many, a center of communication for a great number of people!

"Balmungs Finest" is a Balmung (duh!) based Linkshell centered on PVE, if you have a dungeon to do, there are people here who will do it with you! from Sastacha to Garuda, though be warned, Aurum Vale is a pit of despair!

Hrm, that aside, not to shamelessly promote too much, but there is an event on the coming Saturday centered around getting people together new and old on Balmung:

No requirements to attend, you can just drop in poke around then plod off if you like, or pull up a chair and grab a drink.

Phew! that was a lot, hopefully didn't scare you off in the mean time... I think you'll have the chance to meet a lot of interesting people on both servers. Feel free to ask any questions you might have about the game or the community, maybe make a post on the forums about something you're interested in, take it all in.

Best of luck in Eorzea and watch out for the moogles, they like to snatch trinkets. Cactuar
Hi Olofantur,

Thank you for the links. I'll read them all now. Smile
I think for the moment I'll carry on with my character on Balmung, as on my other character I did miss a few things and made a few noobie mistakes. Tongue

I'll be sure to try the Linkshells when I get my feet firmly on the ground.

Thanks again for the reply! Smile
Always happy to provide information,

you'll find many more here at the RPC to lend a helping hand, though chances are they're already in game haha.

Feel free to flag me down if you see me running about Eorzea and i'll do my best to introduce you to a few groups once I get an idea of what you're looking for.

Tah-tah for now!
Hello there, welcome! Big Grin It's good to have you here! Feel free to say hello if you see me around on Balmung!

Thank you, I'll probably see people and forget their names. I've just been spying on a few people at the moment, too shy to force in on it. Blush
Welcome, Salvi! Glad to hear you're enjoying the game so far! I've also been a FF fan since I was younger. I hear this game harkens back to FFVI more than anything else, but I never played that one. Mostly it reminds me of my favorite title, FFIX.

Anyway -- may you make many new friends this time around! In my experience, people are very friendly and approachable.

Hi Hammer,
I never played XI either as I didn't have the later consoles. FF7 was my starting point through to FFX, plus FF12. Big Grin

(Sorry for bumping, I like to reply to people who commented). Blush
