Welcome to the Shaded Bough’s first contest event, the Mist Master Fishing Contest!  Put your skills on the line to see who is the best angler in all of Eorzea!  Not a fishermen?  Not a problem!  Come out and cheer on your favorite angler, meet with other fans, enjoy a peaceful atmosphere and fish-fry on the gorgeous beach.  All are encouraged to come out and join in the festivities!

Goal of the Event:

This fishing contest is taking place at Mist as a means of getting people to use Mist (and by extension, the other residential areas) more often in their RP Events, as well as a means for the community to gather up for some fun games and relaxation.

Contest Rules:

1. Contestants will be given 15 minutes to catch the biggest fish they can manage.
2. No restriction on bait and tackle.
3. A full screenshot must be taken of the fish’s size to verify its legitimacy.  Time stamps must be enabled in chat settings.
4. Fish must be caught in Mist, during the event.

Contest Brackets:

To ensure that all participants have a fair chance of winning, there will be brackets divided by levels to keep level 10 hobbyists from going against the level 50 master fishermen.   Each level bracket will start at their own times, starting with the first lowest to the highest.  The following bracket will be run after the previous bracket finishes.  Times will be announced on the forum before the event.

As it stands there will be five brackets ranging from:

Level 1-10 | 11-20 | 21-30 | 31-40 | 41-50

(Please note, that some brackets may be consolidated into others should the number of participants in said bracket be considered insufficient.  Any changes will be noted on the forum before the event.)

Prize Possibilities:

Prizes will consist of housing decorations crafted by the Bough’s best craftsmen.  Only the bracket winner will be eligible for a prize.  Unclaimed prizes will be given to the runner-up.


Signing up:

Registration for the event can be done here on the forums or IC in the game.  In terms of IC, the event is advertised as a contest and fish-fry.  Those looking to sign up IC can claim posters spread out over Limsa detailing the contest.  Please make sure when joining to list your fisher level for bracket placement.  Should you level fisher past the bracket you were assigned, please edit the information and state as such.

Due to lack of interest in the contest, this will just be a fish-fry gathering.  Everyone is, of course, still welcome to come and hang out, meet new friends, and enjoy a beach day!
