He tends to give her too many greens and alcohol to drink because that the only type of drink he owns. Since they live in Mist, she ends up having to drink the trench water (at least it seems clean?) beside the house. He also never takes her out to exercise and just lets her run by herself around the neighborhood, which always earns him a telling-off from the officers.

Ugh, no wonder he dumps Caelia that duty! (Pfft, not like this is news to me.. But she doesn't know what her living conditions were previously.) Good thing that she lived on a ranch and knows how to properly care for the non-avian birds.

Amity, her chocobo, has served Caelia as a companion and pet. She raised the chocobo from an egg. Amity was the last present her parents had given Caelia before ther passing. So she cares deeply for her. It was also a sign that her parents trusted Caelia enough that she was ready to help raise the other chocobos on the the ranch. So, I guess we can say Caelia has a good understanding of what it's like to take the responsibility of caring for an animal. If her housemate would allow it.. She would love to take in more animals.

Hahahahahahaha....[sub]impossible[/sub].
Augustine keeps a bluebird. Or rather, the bluebird keeps him. Of course he has his chocobo as well but ...yes. Bluebird. He eats dodo and other fried poultry in front of the bluebird to show him who's boss.
The closest thing L'yhta has to a pet is her chocobo, Shera; she likes to groom him/her (she doesn't know what gender he/she is, and she respects his/her privacy enough to not investigate Smile ), take him/her out for rides, and the like. Thankfully, she also has a retainer and fellow Wizards who can look after him/her while she's out adventuring, because she's also quite distractible and would likely forget key things like "food for your chocobo" if someone wasn't reminding her. Of course, a chocobo is capable of acquiring its own food if left to its own devices...

Being aware of her own limitations, in addition to being largely allergic to long-term commitments and responsibilities, L'yhta doesn't have any other pets. I suppose if someone gave her one, she'd love how cute it was, then quickly get bored or annoyed with it. In her tribe's territory, pets were viewed as an unnecessary luxury -- animals were for food or for labor, and that's it.
