Her hand slowly relaxed as their fingers laced together. She tilted her head to look down at their hands as she leaned back towards him. His body met hers and she sighed as he kissed the nape of her neck.
She had read every story in that book many times over. It was no coincidence he had chosen one that sang of two stalwart knights and their forbidden love. Both had been destined to go their separate ways, alone and unfulfilled. Tonight, however, their tragic story would have a different ending.
